Chapter 41: Down Time
Izayoi's POV
So after the whole Arrosa-almost-killing-me fiasco, we all agreed that we needed a break. While Ayuma, Kayuma, and Mochigo went back to the village of demon slayers and Arrosa stayed with Kaede, I decided to go to the future to visit my grandmother.
I guess I didn't tell you; I can travel through the bone eaters well to the future to visit my family that's there. I gone to the future since I was 10 so going to visit would be good. Plus I needed to tell grandma about what was going on with Mama and Papa and to get supplies.
I jumped down into the old well and watched as I traveled through time. It was a strange as the colors surrounded me before hitting the bottom of the well. Using my strong legs, I jumped out of the well and found myself in the old well house. I walked out of the house and found the Higurashi shrine. A smile came to my face as childhood memories of the old shrine came back to me.
As I walked around, I noticed a woman working on a small garden. She was planting some roses and sunflowers into the ground. From her looks, I could tell right away that she was my grandmother. "Grandma!" I called out.
My grandmother turned to see my smiling at her. "Izayoi!" she exclaimed as she got up to hug me. It was great getting hugged by a relative. It felt like I was being held by Mama again. "Look at you, you've gotten so big."
"Grandma," I said with a blush. "I haven't gotten that big."
"I haven't seen you in 2 years. Of course you've gotten big."
"Is that Izayoi?" a voice asked.
I turned to see great-grandpa coming out from the house with a cane. "Hi great-grandpa." I greeted with a wave and a smile.

"I see, so Kagome and Inuyasha have been kidnapped," Grandpa said.
I nodded solemnly.
"I'm not worried," Grandma added. "I know that Kagome and Inuyasha will be all right."
I was surprised that Grandma had said that. She didn't even seem worried at all about the fact that her daughter had been kidnapped by Naraku. She just smiled and shrugged it off like it was no big deal!
"Anyway, Izayoi, how long are you staying?" Grandma asked.
"Um, well my friends and I agreed on relaxing for about 4 days before going off to find Naraku again," I replied.
"Well maybe I should take you around town since you'll be staying for a while."

3rd Person's POV
"Welcome back Ayuma, Kayuma and Mochigo," one of the village woman greeted as the three siblings came into the village.
"Hello," Ayuma and Kayuma replied at the same time.
"How are you three?" another woman asked.
"We're fine, thank you for asking," Mochigo answered.
The three siblings made their way to their hut, the one they shared with their parents. Ayuma and Kayuma went to their room and laid themselves on their beds. The two had shared a room since they were little children. Mochigo could recall all the nights the girls would stay up talking to each other about boys and doing each others' hair and things of that nature. Sometimes he couldn't sleep at night because his sisters would talk so loud.
As Mochigo laid in his bed room, he remembered how when he was a little boy, he would get scared of the shadows in his room and would go to sleep with his Mother while his Father would go out to slay a demon.
"Mother," he would say. "Will I ever be brave?"
"Of course you will Mochigo," Sango would reply. "You just have to grown a little more."
Meanwhile, in the present, Izayoi was being dragged around the mall by her grandmother, who was making her try on all these clothes she didn't need. Izayoi had a cap covering her dog ears so no one suspect that she was a half-demon. She did get odd glances though due to her kimono.
Izayoi's POV
Anyway, after trying on several different clothes in like twenty stores, I snuck away to the food court. There, I bought myself some food and ate. As I did, several boys about my age approached me. "Hey there cutie," one commented. "I've never seen you around here before."
Oh great, I thought. Just what I need; boys who think I'll flirt with them just because they think they're so cool. Then a smirk came to my face. Fine, I'll play their game.
"Why yes," I replied. "I'm actually new here."
"Well sweet cake, how about you and I go to the park? I could buy you an ice cream."
"No thanks." I got up to walk away but the boy grabbed me by the arm.
"It wasn't a request sweetie." the boy told me.
I smirked before quickly flipping the boy to the ground. The other boys quickly surrounded me and I smirked. They tried to hit me but I quickly dodged out of the way. I then tripped one to the ground and flipped another one. The last boy came at me but I just stuck out my foot and tripped him.
Of course, Grandma was ranting at me about the situation. "Why would you just trip those boys?" she said. "I mean, you know you're stronger than them."
"I know."
When I got home, I laid in bed and relaxed. As I did, I noticed a picture on the night stand. It was a picture of Mama, Papa and me when I was two. Papa had me on his shoulders and Mama stood by his side. I smiled at the memory. It was good being able to think of the happier times.
Several days later, I had my bag packed full of new supplies as I made my way to the well. "You be careful Izayoi," Grandma told me.
"Don't worry Grandma, I will," I responded before jumping into the well.
