Chapter 28: Tensoga's New Move

Izayoi's POV

"Totosai, you home?" I asked as I entered the old sword smith's cave.

I walked in to see Totosai forming a new sword. As I walked in, Totosai turned to look at me. "Oh Izayoi, what brings you here?" Totosai asked. "Have you mastered your own move for Tensoga yet?"

"Well, not exactly." I said.

I then explained the whole story about my fight with Papa.

"I see, even under mind control Inuyasha is a worthy opponent," Totosai commented. "Now I see why you came to me, you want me to train you."

"Yes Totosai, I need to do this," I told him. "If I don't then Naraku will kill Mama and Papa and get the sacred jewel."

"All right." Totosai answered as if it were no big deal.

"Wait a minute! If you could train me this whole time, why didn't you do it before?!"

"Well you never asked."

I growled and smacked him in the head, leaving a big red bump on top of his head.

"All right, let the training begin."

***************************

Totosai's training was certainly something. It seemed more like chores honestly. He had me clean his cave until it was shiny clean, he had me polish all his swords (which he had 125 of), he made me rearrange the huge stones that were outside his home (which weighed 300 pounds each), and he had me prepare a bath for him.

After hours of work, I was panting on the ground with Kilala staring down at me. "Kilala," I panted. "Doesn't this seem more like chores to you?" Kilala meowed and then grabbed a bucket full of water and poured it over me, making me relaxed. "Thanks Kilala."

Once Totosai's bath was finished, he brought me inside. "All right, now time for your sword training." Totosai said.

"What?!" I yelled. "I thought that was my training."

"That was training for your body," Totosai explained. "Now this is training for your sword." Totosai grabbed a sword from his stack of swords and then unsheathed it. "Here's what you must do, you must be able to knock me down with a move that is all your own."

"A move that's all my own? How exactly do I do that?"

"You'll have to figure that out for yourself."

Totosai then took me outside and allowed me to prepare myself. 'Here I go.' I thought. As I took my stance, I thought about the training Papa had done with me when I was younger.

Izayoi's Memory

I was 7-years old when Papa had started my training. He gave me a long rod of wood and showed me where to place my little hands. "Izayoi, hold the sword firmly in your hands." Papa instructed.

"Okay Daddy." I said as I did what Papa had instructed.

"Now, when you swing, you don't do it so that it just hits the opponent, you do it so that it hits the opponent in the right spot. Understand?"

I looked at Papa with a bit of confusion and a sweat drop formed behind his head. "Maybe you could show me what you mean Daddy so I can understand what you mean."

"All right, I"ll do a little wind scar attack then." He unsheathed his own sword and then prepared to swing. "Wind scar!" The attack went straight for a tree and turned it into pieces.

"Wow! That was amazing Daddy!"

"Yeah it was pretty amazing wasn't it?"

"Inuyasha!" I heard Mama shout. We both turned to see Mama was there with a face of red anger. "Look what you did Inuyasha!" Papa turned to see that the tree that he had knocked down had the clothes hanging from a clothes line. "The laundry was right there!"

"Kagome it was an accident." Papa tried to explain with fear.

'So Daddy's more scared of Mommy?' I thought. "Daddy, I thought you said Mommy was more scared of you."

"Izayoi, shhh!" Papa told me.

Mama's face grew as red as a tomatoe. "Inuyasha, SIT BOY!" Mama yelled as Papa went face first into the ground.

I tried my best to hold back a laugh.

End of Memory

I stood ready for my training. 'Okay, here's go nothing.' I thought as I held tighter to Tensoga's. I then ran towards Totosai and swung Tensoga as hard as I could. Totosai didn't move an inch. I did a little back flip and tried to attack again bit still couldn't do anything.

"This is getting tiredsome," Totosai told me. "Obviously you can't handle this training."

"Yes I can Totosai." I told him.

I gripped the sword so tightly my hands began turning red. 'I have to do this, I have to master a new move,' I thought. 'I have to, for my family.'

Suddenly, Tensoga's blade began to change. It grew sharper and sharper until it was a fine pointed sword. 'What's this?' I thought as I looked at the sword. Along with the strange change came this new power that seemed to be flowing through me. 'Is this because I have the new move that Totosai has been talking about? Well I guess I should swing it.'

"Here goes nothing." I said as I prepared to swing my sword. I made a run towards Totosai and swung my sword. When I did, a strange wind along with some spiritual power came from the blade and swirled together and hit Totosai's sword, causing him to go flying back before hitting a rock.

"Totosai!" I shouted before running towards him. "Are you okay?"

"Oww!" Totosai cried as he sat up. "Are you trying to kill me?!"

"No sir."

"Then what was that?! That new move of yours has spiritual powers that could've killed me!"

"Sorry Totosai, I didn't-" Then it sunk in. "Wait, did you say new move?!"

"Well what else would it be? I've only heard that very few people have been able to combine spiritual powers and demonic energy like that."

"Wow." I said as I looked at my sword. "I think I'll call it, Spiritual Splitter."

"You youths and your tangled up words," Totosai remarked."
