Chapter 15: The Unknown about the Traveling Priestess
Izayoi's POV
"A traveling priestess?" I asked.
"Yes," the traveler told us. "She has skin as pale as the snow, long black hair held up in a ponytail, and beautiful brown eyes. She helps with taking care of travelers and soldiers who are injured."
"What is her name?" Ayuma asked.
"Her name is Priestess Arrosa." the other traveler said.
"I've never heard of Priestess Arrosa." Kayuma said.
"Neither have I." Mochigo added.
I thought about it for a moment. 'Could this priestess be the same one that had saved us?' I thought. 'And if so, why did she save us?'
3rd Person's POV
"Thank you Lady Arrosa." a soldier said.
The young priestess smiled. "You're quite welcome." She told him.
She was helping with injured soldiers who had just come back from a battle. As she did so, a feeling came over her that sent a small shiver down her back. Arrosa looked at the sky and saw a Samyosho flying in the air. 'Of course, he wants to see me.' Arrosa thought.
"Is something the matter Lady Arrosa?" a soldier asked.
Arrosa turned to him and smiled. "No, it's nothing really." she told him.
The young woman decided to excuse herself from the men for a moment to look around the forest. She had a bow and some arrows on her so she wasn't unarmed. An evil laughter soon filled the air. "Well, I see you've decided to come Arrosa." a man's voice echoed through the woods.
Arrosa turned and saw that there was someone in the shadows. It was a man that was hidden by a Baboon pelt. "Naraku," Arrosa spoke. "I"m surprised that you send a Golem to come see me. You must really be scared of meeting me face to face."
The Golem cackled. "I am not frightened by you girl," he said. "I just merely marvel at the power that lurks within you."
"What do you want from me?" Arrosa asked.
"I wish for you to join me my dear," Naraku spoke. "If you help me in killing Inuyasha's daughter, you shall be greatly rewarded."
Arrosa laughed lightly. "You honestly think that I'll join you?" she asked. "Naraku, you must be truly desperate to ask that of me."
"Desperate you say?" Naraku asked with sarcasm in his voice. "No, that is not it all. I'm only trying to spare you from death."
"I'd rather die then join you Naraku," Arrosa growled with anger. "You killed my Mother!"
Naraku cackled once more. "So then you wish to join her in death?" Tentacles rose from Naraku's body but Arrosa quickly turned and fired an several arrows, causing the Golem to disintegrate.
Arrosa walked over to the little brown Golem that was on the ground. "I shall not experience death until you are gone from this world for good." With that, she snapped it in half and then left.
At his castle, Naraku growled with anger. "That girl," he mumbled. "Is interfering with my plans." He lifted his head up and looked across the room. "I suppose I will have to speed things along in order to carry out my plan."
Izayoi's POV
"So this Priestess Arrosa is wandering around and helping soldiers," Ayuma said out loud as we continued to journey through the woods. "What do you guys think?"
"It doesn't sound that unusual to me," Kayuma answered. "Priestesses are known to travel around a lot."
"Still, it seems a little unusual." Mochigo added.
"I don't see what the big deal is," Shippo stated. "What about you Izayoi? What do you think?"
"Well, to be honest, I want to meet this 'Priestess Arrosa'," I said. "She seems sort-of, interesting to say the least."
3rd Person's POV
Arrosa soon left the soldiers and made her way to Kaede's village, where the villagers watched her warily as she walked through the village. Kaede was outside of her hut, tending to the garden when she noticed Arrosa.
"Are you priestess Kaede?" Arrosa asked.
"That be me," Kaede answered. "What business do ye have with me?"
"I wish to ask you all you know about Naraku."
Kaede led the young priestess inside and had her sit down. Then the elder priestess spoke; "50 years ago, Naraku was formed from the flesh of a man named Onigumo," Kaede began. "Onigumo was a bandit that had been severally burned. My elder sister, Kikyo, had decided to take care of him. Soon Onigumo had a lust for my sister and he offered his body to demons in order to be able to move again. However, Onigumo was locked away and Naraku was formed. Because of him, Kikyo died."
Arrosa looked Kaede with eyes of sorrow. "I am sorry for the loss of your sister Lady Kaede," Arrosa spoke. "But what do you know of Naraku right now?"
"Naraku seems to have kidnapped Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, and Sango; the same four that defeated him not that long ago. What he plans to do with them, I do not know. I do know this though, whatever it is, it shall not be pleasant."
"Thank you Lady Kaede," Arrosa said with a bow of respect. "I shall be on my way now."
As Arrosa began to leave the village, she stopped when she saw Kikyo's grave. The young girl picked a few flowers and placed them on Kikyo's grave. She bowed with respect and then left the village without saying a word.
As Arrosa walked away from the village, she looked up at the sky and began to cry, thinking about her Mother. "I promise you Mother," Arrosa spoke. "I will not let your death be in vein. I will rid the world of Naraku once and for all."
The young priestess then continued on her way, drying her tears after some time.
