Chapter 5.
AMETHYST
"What? 2 weeks?" I am going bonkers right now.
"Yes." My father says calmly, unfazed by my outburst.
"You arranged for who I would marry. The least you could do is allow me choose the date." I fume in anger.
"The said date is not up for debates." He waves off, non-chalantly.
"You should be glad you have a responsible man for yourself." Father points out.
"Also, you will have to work under him to train to join the business. No arguments." He adds.
My mother and brothers sit here doing nothing. I am seriously pissed right now. This seems like a war I have to fight alone. I thought we were in a world of Freedom? Why did I have to be forced into this marriage in two weeks?
"Kýrios Leon (Mr. Leon), Kýrios Galanis is here to see you." Our housekeeper, Sonia says. Good thing his father is here, we will sort this rubbish arrangement out.
"Good day, Sir, Ma'am." I hear his rich Greek baritone voice say and my head shoots up in awe. Adonis in flesh and blood. I see him give a curt nod to my brothers and sits after father motions for him to. Such good manners, I scoff which draws his attention to me.
I did not miss how his eyes travels from the top to down of my body before smirking or maybe my eyes are deceiving me. I felt so hot under his gaze. He returns them to father and they exchange pleasantries.
"I would love to have a word with your daughter. Alone." He says with his intimidating eyes.
"Of course, feel free. Afterall, you both would be married in two weeks." Father says.
"Thank you. Can we go somewhere more private?" He asks, raising a brow in my direction.
I just walk out, leaving him with the choice of following me, which he does. I stop by the garden, my favorite part of the house.
"Petunias." He comments.
"Yeah, they are my favorite." I say back.
Picture of Petunia Flower.
"So, what do you want, Mister?" I ask, arms akimbo, sending a raised eyebrow his way.
"I have a proposition." He states.
"Which is?" I ask him, studying him.
"Let us sign a contract of ours. We will stay married for 1 year and after that, we can file in for a divorce. I will give you some time to think about it. You could come over to my office to discuss further." He states.
A contractual marriage coined from an arranged one? Well, one year is such a short time and it would run fast. This seems like a good deal, coming from him.
"I don't need to come to your office. Where are the papers for signing?" I ask him not really cool with the idea of going to see him.
"There are terms and conditions." He states, smirking.
"Well, see you tomorrow." I state, walking away. I feel a hand pull me back.
"Not so fast, moro (baby)." He says.
"Den eímai to moró sou (I am not your baby)." I say sternly to pass across the message, crystal clear.
"You will be soon." His breath fans my face and he lets go of my hands.

"I am here to see Nikolas Galanis." I look at the woman who was dressed almost naked in front of me. So, this is his Secretaty. This is interesting.
"Do you have an appointment with him?" She asks, looking at me from head to toe and chewing her gum so loud and annoyingly that I had to force myself to keep my hands by my side for the urge to deal with her was becoming strong.
"No." I state.
"Then you can't go in." She shrugs, completely ignoring me. Her gaze returns to her desktop. Her phone rings and I watch her speak.
"Hello, Mr. Galanis." She purrs like she has no audience.
"A woman here says she wants to see you." She says back and after listening for a while, she mutes the call and looks at me.
"What is your name?" She asks. I smirk and take off the dark shades that covered my eyes. She widens her eyes in recognition and I swear I could drag her off her seat and punch her right now.
"Amethyst Celestine Leon." She gasps as though her thoughts have just been confirmed. She apologises and immediately asks me to go in.
"Look who we have here. The spoilt brat herself." The conceited bastard says the moment he opens the door to allow me into his office.
Now, you will understand why I hate his guts. He calls me spoilt brat like he has a right to. If only he knows what really happened the day he was called to our school.
I walk into the office and sit on his office couch without waiting for him to say anything. I have decided to ignore his snide comments, he is free to think about me anyway he wants. It is not like I care anymore.
If this time was rewinded to when I was 15 and just met him, I would have cared but right now, I really don't care.
"So, you said something about a contract." I say, completely taking him off guard. His playful demeanor immediately changes to a serious one and he speaks.
"Here. Read it and sign when you are done." He tosses a file over to me.
MARITAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN NIKOLAS GALANIS & AMETHYST LEON.
1. Nikolas gets to exercise his marital rights when he wants it.
2. Both parties are to attend formal functions as a couple.
3. Nikolas is allowed to be with whoever he pleases.
4. Falling in Love is not allowed.
I scoff when I read the 4th clause. This man is so full of himself.
5. Both parties would share a bedroom like a couple.
6. At the end of 12 months, both parties file for a divorce and part ways.
Sign.
Nikolas Galanis

I watch as her face squeezes in anger as she reads through the form mumbling 'conceited bastard' under her breath as she finishes up. I laugh and her head immediately shoots up. She glares at me real hard which looks very hot.
"I am not signing this rubbish." She throws the file back at me.
"Now let us have a review at some of these terms. Point 1; when we both want it and not when you want it which would not happen anyway. Point 4; you are too full of yourself, Nikolas. Point 5; I am not sharing a room with you. Change these terms and you have yourself a marriage contract." She finishes and storms out of my office making it a point to bang the door behind her.
Hot!
