Chapter 1 (Gotcha)

Katsuki was doing his normal rounds around his land, checking the traps for any animals stupid enough to wander into them. The forest shrouded out any light, making everything a deep green hue. There were gigantic oak trees growing everywhere, making his journey a tad bit difficult to navigate. There were vines stalking up the trees, some flowers sprouting from them. Katsuki would have admitted the forest was beautiful if he didn't have such a major stick up his ass all the time. Even though the place was a complete maze, it didn't phase Katsuki in the slightest. To an outsider, it would be a deathtrap. He had been roaming around this forest his entire life, so it wasn't any hassle for him.

His mother had set up traps all over the land, and personally Katsuki thought they were too obvious for any creature to just wander into. He had caught a couple rabbits through her traps, but he gathered that they were pretty dull creatures. He heard a snapping noise and turned around, thinking he was being followed. There was nothing there but a small rabbit sniffing around the air and he rolled his eyes. It was a pure white color, its nose twitching rapidly. It hadn't noticed Katsuki quite yet, but when it did it's red beady eyes went wide. It turned around, its fluffy white tail in the air as it bounded off into the thicket.

The barbarian male turned and continued to push through the thick brush. He stepped over a log, his cape barely dragging over the rough bark. The red fabric caught on a small knob on the gnarly surface, creating another hole in the bottom of the cape. He gritted his teeth and apprehended the fabric, tearing it away, the hole only growing. It didn't bother him too much, but it was still a pesky annoyance. His cape already had a generous amount of holes on it, both from the same thing and burns from his quirk or his dragon. The rest of his outfit wasn't much, just brown pants and a belt. He wasn't even wearing a shirt, but the fur around the collar of his cape was pretty insulating.

Katsuki heard another rustling from up ahead and assumed it was that stupid rabbit again. He decided to just finish off the annoying pest, so he reached for his dagger. He slashed away the branches to get through and what he saw was anything but a rabbit. There was a boy, dressed in a green vest and blue pants. An explorer, Katsuki assumed by the sword sheathed at his side and the satchel he had. The boy had the messiest tangle of green hair Katsuki had ever seen and he had a dazed expression on his face. A dusting of red covered the male's cheeks, he was obviously flustered to be in this situation. Rope bound him upside down from a tree, and he was blinking rapidly. Katsuki pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed in pure annoyance. He had stepped into one of his mother's animal traps.

How dumb did someone have to be to step into the most obvious traps in the land? Katsuki crossed his arms and pursed his lips together tightly. He stomped over to the boy and planted himself firmly there. He was still blinking rapidly, fidgeting around occasionally. The two were face-to-face now, and Katsuki could see more details of the boy's face. His nose was small, and his cheeks had a good dusting of freckles on them. His face was pretty round, not as many pointed features as Katsuki had. His jawline was soft, but still defined. Katsuki had just been staring at this point, his eyes narrowed to slits. The other cleared his throat softly, the expression already fading from confused to curious. "Uhm.." He said awkwardly, his voice squeaky.

Katsuki let out a sharp huff of air he hadn't realized he was holding, his hot breath resting over the other's face. He said nothing, but brought his knife up to the other. His eyes went wide and he began to trash wildey. He thought the other had set a trap to catch people and was now to kill him. Barbarians were usually pretty savage, and Katsuki was obviously such. On top of his obvious attitude, his ragged attire proved he wasn't an easy going folk. Panic was evident in the other, but he only came crashing down. Back in his fog, the other lay sprawled on the ground. Katsuki could have easily let him here to die, but instead he had cut the other down from the trap.

Katsuki crouched down and pressed his blade against the intruder's throat. The other was still foggy, so he only gulped. He didn't draw for his sword or anything, just lay there while a blade was flush against his throat. He continued his little blinking thing, which was starting to legit piss Katsuki off. He pressed his blade closer, a small bead of blood dripping down the other's neck. It was an offsetting color against the ghostly pale skin. "Who the fuck are you.." Katsuki snapped out. "And what the hell are you doing in my territory.." he growled darkly. "I-I-Izuku.. M-Midoriya?" he said, as if he wasn't sure he was answering the question properly.
