"... Now we come to our top topic of the evening. You've probably already read or heard it somewhere and yes, it's true! He is coming back. Five years ago he left his home country to study and train in a sports and art academy in South Korea. After that he toured the world with his boy group and became a worldwide known idol, superstar. Our singer, dancer, actor and host, Wang Yibo is coming back home. And already his fans are going crazy with joy. His concert scheduled for next month has been sold out in less than a minute. And right after the concert, he'll start filming a series in which he has the lead role. We met him in Seoul before he left and were allowed to ask him a few questions." Said the presenter.

Then a video of the interview was shown. In it, Yibo was wearing tight black jeans, a white undershirt and a white shirt whose buttons were undone. His hair was dyed blue and he wore earrings. He looked at the camera, smiling shyly. "Hello Yibo, thank you for taking time for us today." Said the journalist.

"You're very welcome." Replied Yibo.

"Let's get to the first question. You've been away from home for 5 years now. What are you most looking forward to when you get back?"

"Mhhh, definitely my family. I would have loved to visit them every now and then. But besides the exhausting studies and the subsequent two-year tour with the boy group, it never happened. We could only ever talk on the phone."

"And who else are you looking forward to seeing?"

"My friends. If they are still my friends. Unfortunately, I never really had time to get in touch with them. But I hope they are still my friends and that I can see them again soon."

"Why did you decide so suddenly to leave the boys group and go back to China?"

"It was anything but sudden. Actually, I had wanted to go back right after I graduated. But then in my last year at the academy, the boys group was formed and I was a part of it. But it was clear to me that I only wanted to do that for a maximum of two years after graduation. I also had fewer and fewer gigs because I was active as an actor."

"A k-drama, right?"

"Yeah right. Well, anyway, five years has been long enough now, and I finally want to go back home."

"I can well understand that. I was abroad for my studies and I was also glad when I could finally go back and see my family and friends again. Okay, enough about me. Next question. Is there any truth to the rumors that you're dating this beautiful Korean model?"

"No, there's nothing true about that. She and I were studying together and happened to meet at a restaurant. Fans took pictures and then there was wild speculation. We're just friends, though."

Yibo closed his laptop and sighed. He lay down on the hotel bed and stared at the ceiling. Since returning from Seoul two weeks ago, he had experienced a lot of unexpected things, and finally being back after five long years didn't feel at all as great as he initially thought it would be.

Upon his arrival, he immediately let himself be driven to his family. They were all very happy and Yibo also finally got to meet his two youngest sisters who were born in the past 5 years. His big brother had not come, as he must not have been able to make it because of his work.

Yibo immediately sensed that something was wrong in his big family. Although everyone was laughing and trying not to let on, Yibo would really had to have a board in front of his head not to realize that something was very wrong.

Later that evening, Yibo and his mom were alone in the house and Yibo wanted to know from his mom what had happened in the past five years and why his big brother now supposedly had to work on Sundays. And likewise, he wanted to know why she and his dad seemed to be avoiding each other and not talking even when they sat next to each other.

But before Yibo got his answers, his mom started crying. He held her in his arms for minutes before she regained her composure far enough to speak. "A lot has happened. Too much, maybe." She began.

"What do you mean?" Yibo wanted to know.

"To be honest, things haven't been going so well between your dad and me since Mama Ana got pregnant again. The pregnancy was complicated and he had to stay by her side all the time. I hardly saw him anymore and your other moms rarely got to see him either. And it seems that during that time Mama Ana and your dad became much closer than before. Because even after the birth of your youngest sister, he is almost only with her. The last time he slept here in the house with me was a year ago. And that was just a short night too, because Ana called him and asked him to come back and help her with the kids."

"What?" Yibo was horrified and on the verge of tears.

"Mama Hana and Mama Lia want to break up with your dad. They've already packed up his things and put them in the garages. And I'll probably do the same."

"Mom no! You can't do that..."

"Yibo my darling. I have been thinking about it a lot. Unlike your other mothers, I don't have children at home anymore, so I have a lot of time to think. "Why? Why don't you tell me?"

"All I know is that your brother's boyfriend broke up with him. That was about a month after you ran away. He never told me the reason. But I think it was because of you."

His mom had written on a note for Yibo's dad that she was leaving him and added her wedding ring. And to make sure he couldn't call her, she also left her cell phone behind. And even though his mom hadn't been home for two weeks, his dad hadn't tried to find her. Because if he had wanted to find her, he probably would have called Yibo and asked for her. At least that was Yibo's opinion.

That evening, after going to Beijing with his mom, Yibo went to visit his brother and talk to him. He immediately saw in his brother's face that he didn't feel like talking to Yibo. However, Yibo did not let go and kept asking why he and Cheng broke up.

Finally, his brother said, "It had nothing to do with you. About a month after you disappeared, Cheng wanted to spend the weekend with me. We had gone away and had a nice weekend. And then on our last night, he confessed to me that he was an agent."

"And?"

"Well, I told him I was okay with it because we could still see each other a lot because he was at Keno Academy. But then he told me he was leaving the Keno Academy. He had a new mission and would be out of the city for an undetermined amount of time. He confessed to me that he wanted to spend this last weekend together with me to have a nice memory before he had to part with me."

"He, he broke up with you?"

"You do know that when you left, he disappeared too right? No one knows where he is. He left the academy the same day you did and no one has seen him since."

"That's what it looks like. Not even his family knows where he is. Cheng told me then that Zhan took a mission and went abroad. He didn't get any more information than that. And since then, I don't think Zhan has returned. Which I only know because his sister works in my company and talks to me about her brothers from time to time."

"You should have expected this when you took off and left him heartbroken. Did you really think he would wait five years for you to come back?"

"I didn't think it would take that long."

"I know. I saw the interview. But Yibo, you must have realized that he wasn't sitting at home waiting for you while you disappeared somewhere and left him behind. And with nothing more than a farewell letter."

Since then, Yibo had spent his free days looking for Zhan. He even went to the house where the secret base was. But as soon as he got there, he saw that there was no one there. The cameras had been dismantled. The offices were empty and a thick layer of dust had collected on the floor.

Even his uncle, who had stayed with him in Seoul for the five years, could not find out. He too only learned that Zhan had disappeared for 5 years and no one knew what his mission was or if he was still on it.

When Yibo's mom came to the hotel room, she was at the spa, she lay down next to him on the bed and told him, like almost every day since they arrived at the hotel, that everything will be fine and he will find Zhan. But how will he find him if no one knows anything?
