I twirled around to see what Kai was talking about. To my surprise, the king had sent his troops to follow us, and they were banging on the door of the shrine.

"OPEN UP,"the soldiers shouted, but in vain.

I twitched. What was the king up to?

"It's those ignorant humans again,"Keioto growled.

Ayame tilted her head,"Excuse me? Ignorant? Do you call all humans that? I wouldn't be surspired if there were some people who hate you!"

I shook my head, desperately trying to tell Ayame that she was crossing the line.

"Humans are foolish,"Keioto chided. "You think you're smart, but you know nothing of the world beyond this nation let alone the world."

Ayame glared at Keioto, infuriated.

" It's okay, Ayame,"Hiro panted Ayame on the shoulder. "Don't anger him."

Ayame stared at Hiro for a moment and mumbled, "I guess even knuckleheads can mature a bit too, eh?"

Hiro shot Ayame a stern look. "I was always mature, Ayame!"

Ayame rolled her eyes,"I take it back. You'll never grow up!"

"Hey, I-,"Hiro frowned playfully.

I turned around as I laughed softly, tying to hide the fact I was laughing at Ayame and Hiro. Even though they don't realize it, the make a great couple!

" Ak-hem,"Aki coughed. "There's a god, two demon's here and don't mind me, a mob of soldiers outside!"

Keioto laughed, not with joy but with sarcasm. I grunted. The god was so unpredictable and mysterious!

"So,"Ayame asked. "What are we going to do?"

"Oh, you do not need to worry,"Keioto grimaced. "They are not more than pests to this shrine. They'll leave soon!"

"Are you sure,"Kai asked. "They're banging the door over and over again. It is quite annoying!"

Ayame nodded in agreement. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Kai. Even if you don't mind them bang on the shrine, we do!"

"Can't we just go outside and ask them what's wrong,"I asked. "I think that you all being a....well, a coward."

"COWARD,"Ayame shrieked. "Coward? We are not COWARDS!"

I sighed. "After all I said the only thing you heard was coward? Seriously!"

"No,"Ayame rasped. "I heard-"

"Enough,"Keioto growled. " GET OUT! YOU HAVE DISTURBED THIS SHRINE LONG ENOUGH!"

Kai twitched. He almost looked hurt. I guess he wasn't to be blamed. The god he looked up to had just scolded us, including him.

Reluctantly, we walked out the shrine. Waving goodbye to Hana who as trying to heal her brother Hiroshi with her divine powers.

"They're going to burst in,"I said as I placed my hand on the door.

"No, they won't,"Keioto grunted. "I put a barrier up. "

"A barrier,"Kai noted. "Useful....."

Ayame rolled her eyes. "Just open it!"

I frowned. " Are you-"

"Yes! Just open it! There's a barrier remember,"Ayame snapped.

Whoa! She sure wanted to get out of the shrine.

"Okay, here goes nothing,"I clenched my jaws as I slowly pushed the door open.

The door opened, allowing pure light to enter the shrine. Warmth from the light wrapped around us like a comfy blanket. As I squinted to see what was happening outside, I caught a glimpse of a mob of surprised warriors who were all wearing the same armor. Bronze plates made up their armor, with a red cloth wrapped around their waist to hold their swords, no katanas.

"Greetings,"a familiar voice spoke.

We all turned around with astonishment. For a moment, we said nothing. No one dared to move. Everyone froze. Even the bugs that buzzed in the air dropped to the ground.

"Oi, old man,"Ayame asked. "Why are you here?"

I hissed at Ayame. "Don't call the king, old man!"

"Well, well,"the king smiled, but not a friendly one. The blaze in his eyes had completely vanished. It was as if he was someone else.
