Chapter 5: Welcome to my world
WEREWOLF
Tia's POV (LAST ONE FOR A WHILE I PROMISE unless you want to see more?)
My eyes flicker open, and memories come flooding back. The alpha in front of me was still asleep, little snores coming from his nose. His smell, that divine, forest, floral smell filled my nose again, and I leaned closer, inhaling heavily. It numbed the growing pain of the heat cycle as it came back, but just as I was getting comfortable, my stomach grumbles. Loudly.
I stiffen, but Ridge only shifts slightly, making a slight grunting noise. Quietly, I stand up and tiptoe out of the den, and as soon as I get outside, I begin to pad away quietly. The ground was wet and moist from the storm last night, and it felt springy, like a sponge under my feet. When I was a good distance away, I begin to sprint, my muscles which had been stiff for a while stretching and contracting, and I smiled, the breeze whipping at my fur, cooling the heat cycle down. It wouldn't fully kick in for a while yet, and eating would help.
Catching the scent of deer, I whip round and leap through the air, my claws sinking into its neck as I push it to the ground. It struggles feebly, and I quickly rip its head off, savouring the flavour-it had been a day since I had last eaten. As it finally weakens, I rip off chunks of its stomach, chewing, almost collapsing with relief. It felt like some God had reached down his hand and given me the most amazing meal on Earth.
"I thought I told you to stay in the den" a voice snarls behind me, and I freeze, before carrying on eating.
"I was hungry" I grumble, tearing off a large part, chewing on it quickly, savouring the last few seconds I had to finish it.
"I don't care" he growls, and a sharp pain jolts up my tail as his teeth sink into it.
I yelp, ripping a chunk free as I whirl round, and he lets go, yanking the meat from my mouth.
"Get back to the den" he snaps, pushing me roughly, and I whimper in response, following his command, my bleeding tail dragging on the ground.
When I finally reach the hole in the hill, I slouch inside, curling up in a ball inside.
"Good, shut up and go to sleep" he grumbles, laying down in the entrance.
"What do you want with me?" I whimper, and if wolves could grin, he would have.
"You'll see" he chuckles, and I shiver at the sound, quivering in fear as he suddenly gets up and pads towards me.
"Let me see your human form" he demands, and I shake my head.
"Now" he insists, and I simply turn my head away from him.
"Aw, too ugly to be seen in public?" he taunts, and I wince. I wasn't very attractive as a human-most people had told me I looked depressed or annoyed all the time. Even Duncan stayed clear of me when I phased.
He watches the thoughts through my head and snickers. "Thought so. I was hoping for an attractive mate, but I guess I have to rule you out as a candidate."
I shut my eyes, blocking out the room. The smell he gave off and how it effected me...I knew I was his soul mate. But he'd rejected me, and once you have been rejected, that was it.
"Oh don't tell me you're throwing a tantrum" he scoffs.
"Can you just kill me already?" I whisper, shifting slightly, tail still sore and somewhat swollen.
"Kill you?" he snorts, surprised.
"Well, that's why I'm here, right? I'm not here for any other purpose. There's nothing to do. I don't even know why I'm here. So it's either let me go or kill me as I try and go" I sigh.
"Try and go, see where it gets you" he chuckles.
"Like I said, it's either kill me or let me go. Might as well choose now, since I will probably make a break for freedom any day now."
He pauses, sighing. "So dramatic."
"Well, you started my heat cycle early, which means now Lewis is going to hook me up with Duncan to be some baby breeding machine, I feel like my fur is on fire and I'm about to explode, I've been bitten, scratched, punched, kicked and choked in the space of a few days, and it doesn't help that I'm being rejected and insulted by some random alpha wolf who has kidnapped me and is holding me captive for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I think, by now, I have a right to be dramatic." I growl, shoving my head in my paws to emphasis the situation.
Everything goes quiet for a while before I hear paws padding over to me.
"So let me get this straight. You're the runt of the litter, who feels like you aren't worth anything. You want to live on your own rules but are forced to live by the ones you have been given. You feel like no one likes you, and everyone wants to hurt you. You are annoyed at everyone, and especially yourself, and you feel like you want to kill yourself to make everything easier." he sums up.
"Pretty much" I sigh in confirmation.
"Good. Welcome to my world" he grunts, before something warm and soothing presses against my back. Turning round, he doesn't object when I tuck my nose into his fur, inhaling deeply. Oh, he smelt so good...
"Ridge?" I ask, sighing with relief as my heat cycle numbs.
"Hm?" he hums.
"How...do you cope with it? You know, being alone and...and everyone hating you?" I question curiously.
Ridge pauses before responding.
"Here is some advice I got from an old friend. Use your weakness as your armour,as your strength-that way no one can use it against you."
I take in his words for a moment.
"What's your weakness?" I ask.
"Myself" he sighs, and I lick his fur softly, drifting off to sleep next to him.
Note: Anyone get that Game of Thrones reference? :D....No? Damn it...
VAMPIRE
Sky's POV
"What now, sir?" someone calls out, the crowd of vampires suddenly too overwhelming and I fight my way through them to stand near the front.
I go quiet for a while, thinking it over.
"Looks like we will be paying the dogs a visit" I grin, and they all yell with excitement-it had been a while since our last fight...
"When do we attack, Sky?" Deadlox grins.
"A week from now. I will hold a meeting later this week. For now, train and stay healthy" I order, and they all agree, nodding and grinning evilly.
"I must go...do some business" I declare as everyone filters off before I flit away, sprinting over the grassy planes, checking behind me every minute or so to make sure no one was following me.
"Raven?" I call out, glancing around shyly.
The girl I was waiting for jogs from behind some trees, her long brown hair bouncing on her shoulders and her icy blue eyes lighting up as they meet mine. I move to embrace her, and I catch her in my arms as she leaps forward, snuggling right into my chest.
"I've missed you" she sighs, and I smile, shutting my eyes as I lean my head on hers.
"I've missed you too, werewolf girl" I grin, and she sighs.
No one was to know that I was in love with a werewolf. A long time ago, in one of the first battles we had, I wasn't the leader of the coven, and we were led into a battle by a crazy guy who almost killed us all. I almost got killed too, if Raven hadn't let me go. I ran from the scene, and to this day I'd never forgotten about it.
"You need to visit me more often" she murmurs, stroking the fabric on my chest lightly with the tips of her fingers.
"You know I can't, they'll get suspicious" I sigh, tucking a stray strand of her hair behind her ear.
"Please?" she whispers, looking up at me with big, round eyes.
I melt instantly, and lean down to kiss her gently.
"Fine. I'll try" I mumble, trying not to smile when she squeezes me tightly.
We stay like that for a while, her clasped to my chest, sitting on my lap, me sitting on a nearby rock jutting from the ground. I would stroke her hair often, kissing her on the cheek as she fiddled with my hands.
"We could run away, y'know" she muses and I pause, leaning my chin on her shoulder.
"I couldn't, no. I'm the leader of the vampires" I remind her, tucking my nose into her neck and nuzzling her softly. Most werewolf scents smelt disgusting to me, but hers was special-it reminded me of sitting on a beach, the refreshing smell of ice cream and almost like...candyfloss. Sweet and addictive.
"I wish we could" she breathes out wistfully, tilting her head back onto my shoulder, allowing me to access her neck and I scatter light kisses on it. She was only 16, but I was only 20-she was mature for her age, but certainly...insane sometimes.
"Maybe when you're older" I chuckle, squeezing her into a bear hug and she giggled, groaning as she tried to squirm from my grasp.
"There is something...I need to tell you" I exclaim slowly, wondering if this was a good idea.
"Hmm?" she hums curiously, glancing back at me to meet my eyes. I almost cursed her-I felt like I would melt every time I made eye contact with her.
"We're attacking your base soon" I admit, not telling her the exact time. I loved her, of course I did, and I didn't want to keep secrets from her, but I was loyal to my coven.
"Oh" she frowned, looking down. She, too, was loyal to her pack, so she would tell them. But she knew I could not tell her when.
"You'll be safe, don't worry, I'll make sure of that" I nod fiercely-anyone who dared attack her would have to go through me.
"Still..." she mutters, fidgeting on my lap.
"What?" I ask, kissing her on the nose, making her smile.
"I wish everything could just stop, y'know? The wars...the fighting...the stupid law that vampires cannot date werewolves. I wish everyone would stop trying to control my life, but at the same time, I rely on them for nearly everything. It's so confusing and annoying but there's nothing you can do about it" she groans, and I laugh quietly, standing up and she hops off my lap, holding my hands to her cheeks.
"Welcome to my world" I grin, and she smiles gently, leaning up to kiss me.
It was a few seconds long, so light, so gentle that I found myself smiling before I could stop myself. Though I wasn't going to stop myself anyway.
"Go home, wolf girl" I smile and she sticks her tongue out before phasing into her wolf form, a pitch black wolf with swirly white patterns on her stomach. I disliked any wolf in their original form, but I had gotten used to hers.
"Bye Raven. I love you, remember?" I smile, and she rolls her eyes, putting her paws on my knees as I stroke her head.
She nuzzles my neck, wagging my tail, which I can pretty much translate to I love you too.
Then she was gone, a blur of black fur as she sprints off back to her home.
I smile as I watch her leave. Someday, somehow, we would get together. I just knew it.
Note: Again, sorry the day-late update. It's been the holidays and I'm a horrible procrastinator. I have a ton of homework to do that I haven't done like a 3 page english essay.
Woopdeedoo.
BUT guess what is coming up?
SIX WEEK HOLZ
WOOO
SO you can expect lots of updates then! BUT I am moving up a year in school, and we begin our proper GCSE year. So after the six week holidays, updates will come less than usual, probably about three a week? You guys can live with that right?
RIGHT? :D
Question of the week: What is YOUR role in the war?
Werewolf role: Frontline, doing the battling-Medicine/doctor, mostly omega job but anyone can do it-Protecting the den, guarding it and defending it against invaders.
Vampire role: Frontline, doing the battling-Medicine/doctor-protecting their territory, guarding it and defending it against invaders.
Any omega wolves who want to get out of fighting can just have their heat cycle xD
REMEMBER Vampires like to go after omegas the most, and alphas. Betas are just kinda chilling in the background xD
BAIII :D
