The Meeting Part 1
"Ahh summer break. Finally a break from this awful place, right Jalie?" I said walking to the softball field.
"Yeah, the school year was okay, I guess. Can't wait to start summer ball, right?" She said taking my mind off of school.
Softball wasn't my favorite sport. The only reason I played was to hang out with my friends. The coaches were talking about trying to move us up a year because he thought we were so advanced. None of us were ready, and the fact that whenever we were discouraged, the main coach, Mike, would tell us to go into the woods and do whatever you want, because clearly we didn't want to be there. It wasn't to our likings, so we tried to ignore him.
"Yeah I am so excited." I said plainly trying to put enthusiasm in my tone. She smiled and decided to brighten my mood.
"You know that practice doesn't start for another 30 minutes. You wanna take pictures in the woods with me?" She said pointing to our redwood forest sanctuary.
The breeze blew through our hair as we looked toward the entrance of the forest as we looked into the beauty. The leaves fell one by one layering the ground with dead sorell. Maybe this was a good way to start the summer afterall.
