The maze

General POV

The shock of the realisation remained with them for some time. It took some time for everyone to actually digest what was happening. When it finally sunk in, Sky was the first one to speak up.

"I thought it was lost or destroyed millennia ago. Is it still standing,  the Island?"

"To common knowledge it's been destroyed. You are right Sky but people are still hunting for it." Leo said.

"Hunting... Like people are still trying to hunt for the stolen treasure of the Ruby valley. But it doesn't mean they are finding something." Sky said.

"I agree with Sky. It's like following a myth. How will we differentiate fiction from facts?" Dean said to Adrika.

"Bhrata Krishn?" Adrika asked.

"The island was once there. Now even if it was destroyed or sunk in the deepest of the sea, the place must exist. We need the weapon from one cave. We don't need The Island in a living form." Krishn said.

"That's true. We need to figure out the co-ordinates  of the place. But how?" Dean said.

"Mom Dad?"Adrika asked.

"Sorry sweetie. No idea about that." Nivedita said.

"You said people tried to find the place right?" Sam asked Sky. He nodded "what if someone came close enough?"

"Not a far fetched idea actually. In centuries someone must have come close enough for us to get some clues." Emma said. "I will find that out."

"Emma and Sky, you two search in your connection in western hemisphere. The king and queen here can search through their end. Someone, somewhere must have known someone who knows something." Dean said.

"There were a lot of 'some's there but yah.. we can do that. I'll get my best man for it." Suryavir said.

"Misener?" Adrika asked.

"Yah... Adri had a bit of crush on him in her teen days." Nivedita said. Everyone including Krishn looked at Adrika.

"He was this rough and dark man. Ex military, Ex Secret service, that joined my Dad as threat assessment Analist. And I was a hormonal 14years old. Who would not develop a crush in that scenario?" Adrika said shyly.

"Fair enough." Emma nodded.

"It didn't helped the fact that Dad always sent him with me whenever I'm in public. To think of it, he was the reason I didn't get attracted to warrior types once I move past my teen age period. I mean it seemed silly to like someone who was similar to my teen age crush. That's why I liked Nakul better than Parth as everyone always asked me. Although Nakul was a great warrior, his personality didn't revolved around it. He was this handsome, sweet and charming prince." Adrika said smiling. Aadi seemed to love this look of his mother. Adrika never expressed her love for her husband infront of her children. Hearing her talking about his father made Aadi very happy.

"I should thank Misener for ruining a whole lifetime of mine." Mads said. Adrika fake glared him.

"But is he here Dad.. I mean in this time as well?" Adrika asked.

"I told you. We and our home is your constant. So ofcourse he is the part of your home." Suryavir said.

"It will be good to meet him again." Adrika said.

"Honey you don't have to. He isn't here right now and we can deal with him virtually." Nivedita said.

"Just because I had a crush on him didn't mean I was nice to him. I was mad at Dad and I took it out on him. Poor guy never said anything back. I should apologise to him for being a bitch all those years."

"Ok.. I'll call him. He would be here by morning. Now Adri I want to show you something." Suryavir said. "Krishn asked us not to inform you about it before the ritual because it's disturbing. But now you should know."

"What is it?"  Adrika asked.

Suryavir signalled with his hand and a giant screen lit up. Everyone looked up to that. There were pictures of Adrika. It was clear that those pictures were taken without her knowledge. Everyone understood what was that mean.

Son of a bitch...!" Dean cursed.

"There is something worse than that Dean. Save the profanities for better occasions." Krishn said.

"What's worse than this? That slimy git had Adrika followed." Sky said.

"Guys... The worse thing is It's not his men following her. It's he himself." Emma said looking at Krishn and Suryavir.

"We got this from unknown server. After that our people did some digging and this is what we found.." suryavir said looking at that screen.

"These were taken in a charity event conducted by Adrika children welfare foundation. Basically he is in our own home." Suryavir said.

"Can I sware now?" Dean asked Krishn sarcastically. Krishn gave him a eye brow rise. "What... There is something worse?"

"It would have been better if he is just in our home.. he has been to our rooms... Specifically your room Maddy." Nivedita said.

"What do you mean?" Mads asked.

Nivedita looked at Adrika in a look only a mother and daughter can understand. Adrika's eyes went to Aadi for a moment. It seemed like she contemplated something before nodding to her mother. Now there was a picture of Mads and Adrika in their private intemate moment. It was just dark and you cannot definitely see anything but it was clear that they were there.

Adrika looked away closing her eyes. Aadi looked down. Mads was visibly angry but he held Adrika to his chest. Looking at that very gingerly Aadi joined them too.

"It's ok Mumma. I'll kill him for you." Aadi said.

"That's... Very touching." Dean said sarcastically.

"I'll do that too Dean. By the way I think you can curse now." Leo said.

"I've waited too long." Dean replied.

"He is trying to intimidate you Behna. We need to leave as soon as possible. Kakasa can you somehow revoke his rights to be in this part of the world?" Krishn said.

"Kahna he is not just a random someone, I hope you get that. His innovations and theories are somewhat running the world we know it. Juro has always been extremely unproblematic. How can you ban someone like that?" Suryavir said.

"What's the use of being the king? Sir with due respect... Please for the sake of your own daughter you have to stop him here." Leo said irritated. "I'll make a false reality for him. Just trap him there."

"You can do that?" Sky asked.

"I'm a wizard. Try to keep up Sky. I'll make an illusion. Until and unless we got the weapon he will be trapped here. With me." Leo said.

"He is extremely smart Leonard. He will figure out after a short while that he is in a magical bubble." Nivedita said. "Even we can't make one real enough to content him for long."

"That doesn't matter. I'll be inside it too. Even if he knows he will not be able to get out until I'm dead. I will keep him inside Adrika. I promise." Leo said looking at her.

"Leo you cannot stay here. We need you on our journey further. We only have one wizard." Krishn said.

"But you can always take Mr. Chouhan here.. he is more skilled and powerful than me. And he can..." Leo was not able to finish before Krishn rise s hand in defence and said

"I said you are coming with us. You aren't supposed to be left behind. End of discussion. We will find a way to stop Juro."

Everyone looked at eachother but as not even Adrika protested against Krishn, they all thought it would be best to remain silent as well. Adrika looked up to his son and motioned him to leave the room. Aadi was about to protect before his mother gave him a pointed look, he hunched his shoulder defeatedly and started walking towards the door.

"Seriously! I traveled in time for this woman. She doesn't even treat me as an adult." Aadi murmured loudly for everyone to hear.

"I heard that Boy!" Adrika yelled to him.

"Yah.. you always do." Aadi said before slamming the door. Adrika shook her head and looked back.

"He will come around. I have an idea. Juro will figure out he was in a imaginary bubble very fast. But what if we cloud his understanding of what's real and what's imaginary?" She said looking at her brother then to Leo.

"But how?" Sam asked.

"How about we trap him in an unfamiliar environment. And we trap him with me." She said.

"An illusion of you ofcourse." Leo confirm.

"We can call him here. He can't resist seeing Adrika infront of him and not try to manipulate him. Then we will make him think it worked. Infront of him Sky and Emma would leave Adrika after a fight. Mads will accompany me to Dwarika for 'an urgent affair in hand'. He will have Adrika all to himself. Then we will remove real Behna and create the illusion. Unknown scenario. Fevorable condition. His mind will be confused for long enough for us to get one step ahead of him." Krishn said.

"For that we need to know what's the next step is." Sam said.

"Yah... Until we know that... It's kind of late why don't we get something to eat and go to bed. I'll set the table for dinner in 15 minutes, go freshen up everyone." Nivedita said.

"Um.. Ranima.. can I take Adrika to my home tonight? Mom wanted her to have her to have the 3 month ceremonial meal at our place." Mads said.

"Oh... But that's supposed to be done by the mother in law." Nivedita said. She was a stickler for tradition ofcourse.

"I know. But Sky's mother is not going to do it. And you are not supposed to. So she thought maybe she can do it for Adrika and her child." Mads said. It was a little awkward for him too. It seemed like in a way his mother was making it look like the child was related to him. Ofcourse he was going to love and protect the child no matter what.

"That's really nice of her. Nivedita let him take her." Suryavir said. "Adri.. ja beta..."
(Adri... Go on.)

Adrika looked at Sky first who was very embarrassed. But he wasn't responsible for his family's actions. She gave him a reassuring smile and he nodded for her to go. But once she tried to stand up there was a sharp pain in her stomach which caused her to yelp and sit back down with additional people fussing over her.

"Adri... Are you ok?... Sambhal ke beta.. just sit down." Suryavir said helping her sit.

"I think I tried to stand up a little too fast." Adrika said taking long breaths through her mouth. Sky asked Mads if he could get to her afterall he was a doctor. Mads nodded. While sky was taking her pulse Nivedita sat infront of her.

"Does that happen often honey?" She asked.

"Yes.. a few." Adrika asked.

"What?... " Nivedita looked very worried and hold her daughter's belly. "Adri you live with a doctor. Your best friend is a healer. You yourself is a doctor and healer. Why haven't you check yourself..? Pain with pregnancy is never a good sign."

"Sorry Mumma but I didn't think it's that big of a deal. I mean last time with the twins I couldn't lift my own feet at 3 months. That was excruciating. I had to leave Subhadra and Abhi in Dwarka while they needed me the most because of that. That considering I thought this one was smooth sailing." Adrika said.

"Mind if I check. Don't be scared." Nivedita said. Her face suddenly changed to the same horrific face that they know of her real face. Adrika flinched but didn't move. After a while her mother turned normal. "Adrika are you sure you are just 3 months along?"

"What do you mean?" Adrika looked confused.

"Your pregnancy can be just 3 months along but anatomically your baby is almost 6months old. They say babies grow like weed. This one certainly is." Nivedita said. Adrika was looking at her mother with mouth hung open. Krishn placed his hand on her shoulder making her jump.

"How can that be? I don't look that.. my belly isn't showing yet.. Are you serious?" Adrika asked.

"I'm saying what I am seeing. The child.. it has molded into your skin. I fear it will be very difficult for you honey. To separate the bond like this.. you will suddenly show when it's near delivery. It will be the indicator. It will be fast and very very painful."

"We need to move fast because once the baby is delivered  it really can't be predicted what will happen to behna. So we need to find that dagger before this child is born. After that maybe we will have a moment to ourselves." Krishn said.

"How fast are you talking Krishn?" Dean asked.

"You know originally we thought it will be 5 months. Now maybe 5 weeks. Max." Sky said looking at Adrika. "You will be ok. I promise."

"Thank you Sky." Adrika said and gave a squeeze to Sky's upper arm before turning to her mother again. "Is the baby safe? Healthy?"

"He is safe. Healthy and extremely strong. I never experienced such power. And he really resembles Aadi." Nivedita said with a smile.

"He?.. it's a boy?" Adrika asked with excitement to which her mother gave a similarly enthusiastic nod.

"What do you mean by power Kakima?" Krishn asked. Everyone looked a little annoyed at him as they just got a little cheerful news and he had to ruin it. But the hard look on Krishn's ever smiling face was serious enough for everyone.

"The boy.. his soul Krishn.. It's different. It's singular. I felt Adri in him. But not lord Nakul." Nivedita said.

"But how. He has to be a part of him. His blood is. That's why all this is happening, isn't it?" Mads asked.

"I am not talking about the DNA Maddy. It's the soul. The traces of his father that I feel in Aadi is missing in this boy. He is purely Adri. It worries me."

"Why?" Adrika asked.

"Your children inherit your power Adri. Not anything else. The compassion, reasoning, emotions... It's of their father's. It happens in celestial pairing. Children get the dominant traits of parents. In your pairing, yours and Nakul's, you are the power and he is the anchor. He kept you grounded. Content. He controlled your powers and gave direction of it's use where it would not cause the destroction of the world. He was the reason you hold yourself back while you feel like destroying the world, didn't you? You always thought what will happen to him? What will he think? Will he hate you for this? The notion of him hating you chocked you like a vice around your neck, didn't it?" Nivedita asked.

"I guess.. yah.. I had him, how could I destroy anything that had him.." Adrika said confused.

"Your children how ever more in control of their abilities and emotions. Because they have that from their father. Except this one doesn't. He is pure and raw power. I can't predict anything but chances are... He may born without a conscious. He will need a lot of guidance. I mean a lot of it." Nivedita said.

"You mean to say I might give birth to an abomination that may or maynot destroy the world? Great." Adrika said holding her head with both hand.

"Calm down Adrika. The child isn't abomination. It's just a child. He will have a lot of powerful people in his life to help him choose between right and wrong. You, your parents, krishn, Mads and Leo. He will be alright. " Sam said.

"Aghhh.. yah.. you are right. I don't know what gotten into me. How could I say something like that about my own child.. he will be alright. Everyone in his life will make sure he remains in right and righteous path." Adrika said looking up.

"It's just a long day. And you are exhausted. You should get some rest. I'll talk to Kesar about holding the dinner tomorrow." Suryavir said.

"Dad.. before we go. I want to make a request. Considering the recent information about our future about my pregnancy, I think I can now predict what will happen once I give birth. I'll be dead...." Everyone started contradicting her all at the same time.

"Don't say that.."Dean
"You can't say that.."Emma
"There is nothing that suggests that anything is going to happen to you" Sam.
"Behna..." Krishn
"Oh stop it you drama queen.." Leo
"Can you just shut up for once Adrika." Sky

"Just let me finish guys... It's important. If something happens to me then I want Sky and Adrika to raise the baby. I think if anyone can keep him in check that would be Adrika herself. Ofcourse everyone will be there to help. But I want him to grow up in Indraprastha or Dwarka. Not in the western world. He needed to be kept in contact with his inner self. His abilities and powers will be new for everyone. At least here he can be controlled and calmed." Adrika said looking at Sky. He nodded.

"I promise you. I'll raise him as my own." Sky said.

The night wasn't easy for anyone. Fear of the future was making the present miserable. Sam and Dean even discussed how this was the best and most comfortable arrangements they had ever recieved yet they couldn't even relaxed for one bit. Adrika was crying silent tears in the memories of her children and husband, until Aadi slipped into her covers and hold her against himself. He had been doing that since he could remember. He felt his mother's sobs dying and her falling asleep. Before falling in a slumber himself he uttered the same words he had been saying since he was a toddler

"Don't worry Mumma! I will take care of you."
