Shades of Lie

General POV

Adrika spend the whole morning inside that locked room. First half obviously in panic. The things she experienced in those past hours made her question everything and everyone. She wasn't sure she could think of anyone that she could trust. Although it was painful for her to question her friends. Mads even. She was convinced that until proven otherwise she would not trust them. This was the mystery she would solve all by herself. At least there were Aadi, Sam and Dean she could trust. Sam and Dean were resourceful and no one know them. They could be the biggest asset she had. She then started researching about the people she saw in those memories. She had her doubts about Sky that didn't mean she believed Juro. She had to find out for herself if what she saw was right. She formulated a plan to do so and started preparing for it. Around Lunch time there was a knock on the door.

"Mumma...! I asked everyone to leave to alone to think. Well not only me.. It was Uncle Dean who practically ordered us to not to bother you."

She heard Aadi's voice. He had became really close to Sam and Dean in just 2 days. She was happy about it. Aadi had a real tough up bringing. He never had a fun uncle who could teach him normal guy stuffs like drinking, women or sports. He had Krishn and Dristadyumn for uncles. Who were just as serious as him. Having Dean and Sam was something Adrika always wanted for her son. The brothers were cool, funny and really sweet. She smiled at the way Aadi said Uncle Dean.

"Anyways.. Now I'm a little worried. Can I come in?" Aadi said.

"Come in Son.." She said. He came in and sat with her on bed. She knew she looked like a mess but she didn't care. There wasn't any time for thinking about worrying anyone. Actually it was time to be worried.

"Uncle Sammy fed us uncooked pancakes for breakfast. I don't think Uncle Dean will ever forgive him. He bought me a milkshake for compensation." He said mater of factly. Adrika smiled at her son's social innocence.

"Uncle Dean really love food. Everyone home?" Adrika asked.

"Only them. Maa and Sky left for a meeting. Uncle Leo left for Bubbling Cauldron. Mads is here though." Aadi said.

"Good. Call your Uncle Dean and Sammy here. I have a work for them."

"And Mads?"

"Aadi.. I found out something. Something terrible. It's bad. And if it is correct then we need to re-evaluate everything we are thinking upto now." Adrika tried to explain with giving less possible information. "The part of this information is making me doubt people. Mads included."

Aadi didn't know what his mother found out, but he knew that mads was innocent. If his mother knew his real identity she would have thought so. He knew he had to convince his mother about Mads.

"I don't know what you found out. Surely it is sever enough to disturb you like this. But mumma, you can trust Mads. I can't explain why but believe me, if you can trust me you can trust him." He said. Adrika really valued his Son's judgement about people. In very rare case he was ever wrong.

"How can you be so sure baby?"

"Just a feeling.. Mumma please trust me on this."

"Ok honey. Call him too." She trust her son.

When Aadi entered with three men it was clear in their faces that they were worried. Adrika afraid she didn't had any good news either. She was angry and frustrated and was aware that the only element she got right then was showing. Her skin was greenish and she could smell the flowers on her head.

"Sam... You are staring." She said trying to control herself.

"Sorry...! I was just.."

"I know what your Hunter's instinct is telling you. But believe me there is a bigger monster than me in this world and I want to kill him. More than ever now." Adrika said as she shook herself into normal.

"What's going on with you Adrika?" Mads asked.

"To be honest, we don't see you as Monster. You are family to me. Whether you like it or not. Kid is like a son." Dean said to Adrika while holding Aadi by his arm.

"Good then.. I have some work that a family will risk themselves to do. I want information about a meeting." Adrika said. It was first time they saw her so blunt. She was falling back into the warrior she was in those years.

"Easy." Dean said.

"What's the catch?" Sam asked.

"Catches. There are several. First the meeting is one years old. And was unofficial. You have to find out from the parties involved. One party is a very successful lawyer, with friends in high places." Adrika said.

"You know how we work. It's nothing we can't handle." Dean said.

"That's why I'm asking you to do it.. But still Dean, you have to be careful. He is a lawyer and well connected to a noble family that is close to Royals. He knows all the nooks and corners of law." Adrika said.

"Ok then. We shake the other one. The one this lawyer was meeting with." Sam said.

"We can't." Adrika said.

"Why not?" Mads asked.

"Because the name of that man is Sky Nikolai Herbert." She said.

"You are looking into Sky's activities.. From a year back?"Mads asked.

"There are things I get to know. Secrets. It is related to my presence here. To know it's legitimacy I need to know what was discussed in the meeting August 29th, between Sky and counselor Peterson." She replied.

"Why don't you just ask him?" Sam said.

"Uncle Sammy! I think Mumma knows something that lead us to believe Sky would lie." Aadi said. They all looked back at her.

"We made progress about how she woke me up. But her motive was never clear. Her words that it was too personal to discuss was extremely suspicious. All these time everyone said it was a prosperous marriage. A perfect one. For the first time someone said otherwise that too with proof. And surprise surprise it is lined with a motive. It's too good of an opportunity to miss." Adrika said.

"What are you talking about?" Dean said.

"She is saying counselor Peterson is a divorce attorney." Sam said grasping the legal language better than anyone as he was a lawyer himself.

"What the actual hell.. " Dean said.

"I need to know why Sky met him. If what the facts are suggesting true, then we have the motive Adrika had to go through all this process of astral walk." Adrika said.

"Was it Juro?" Mads asked. Adrika looked at him. "Adrika knew him as you saw in her memories. He is the only person you know who knew her except for us."

"He did.. But in a way that I had to believe him." She said.

"He is cunning Mumma.. You can't trust him." Aadi said.

"I don't. That's why I want to figure out that wass there a meeting. If it was, then what was discussed." Adrika said.

"Ok. What's your plan?" Dean asked.

"I don't have any.. It's your specialty." She said.

They decided to go to the old town home so that they would not be disturbed. After the initial setteling down Sam and Dean started their work. Aadi seem to like this place more than the city house. Mainly because it's in woods. Sam and Dean were comfortable too. They had been searching dirt on Peterson to interrogate him. So far it has been clean.

"Guys.. See this.. There was an accident on the road 5 minutes after Peterson crossed it." Sam said.

"Fatality?" Adrika asked walking to him.

"The driver died on the spot and the lady in the passenger seat was in hospital for three days before passing too." Sam said.

"Well that's something. " Adrika said leaning on to look into Sam's laptop.

"Get this. The car that's in the hit and run is similar to Peterson." Sam said

"What are we doing? He passed in that road. He wasn't really in the accident." Aadi asked.

"Lesson one of our job kid, when you can't find something, fake it. Peterson maybe clean doesn't mean we can't find dirt around him." Dean said.

"Now Ill make some paper trails to make this Hit and Run case a homicide. That will help us get him to interrogation." Sam said.

"I got you two into the JPO. For maximum effect. Turns out counselor Peterson is applying for Earl position with the Western Royal Family. Any small controversy and he will be out of the race." Mads said.

"What's JPO?" Dean asked.

"Justice and Peace Organization. Equivalent of FBI as you know. Peterson won't bother talking to local police. So JPO." Adrika explained.

"What's FBI?" Aadi asked.

"Kid.. We can't keep explaining to you.. Just read uncle Sammy's notes on his laptop." Dean said.

Aadi shrugged and opened Sam's old laptop. Adrika was really surprised how far their relationship has come in just two days.

They spend the whole night making a case to fool a grade A lawyer. When Adrika woke up Sam was ready and was preparing papers. Dean was out with Mads. They went to find a police vehicle.

"Looking good there Sam.. Suit really suits you." Adrika said.

"We have been wearing this for ages. It's like costume for me." Sam said.

"Where is Aadi?"

"On a run. He said he missed the forest. Don't worry he is just running in the backyard. I didn't let him wonder around."

"It's ok Sam.. You didn't have to. He practically grew up in forest. He can handle it." Adrika said getting tea. "Why are you so early anyway?"

"Peterson is leaving by noon."

"Ah..." There was a sound of car. "Here they are."

"What do you think? Believable?" Dean asked her as they came out.

"Very... The car is ok.. But dude call the fire department you are lit..." Adrika said. Dean looked his best as a hardcore law enforcement officer. Aadi joined them at the same time.

"Yah Uncle Dean.. You look like James bond." Aadi said.

"You know who James Bond is?" Adrika said surprised.

"Yes.. Uncle Dean paint a detailed picture in my mind with his stories." Aadi admitted. "And I saw a movie on Uncle Sammy's laptop."

"What can I say... I am just great.." Dean said. "Ok.. We should leave. Sammy.."

"Yah we will meet you at city house or should we come here?" Sam asked.

"No.. We will leave after breakfast." Adrika said as Sam gave her a side hug.

"Hope it's nothing." Dean said giving her a hug too.

"Good luck Uncle Dean. Uncle Sammy you too." Aadi yelled.

"Stop calling me Sammy will you Aadi?" Sam said.

"No! Uncle Sam doesn't suits you." Aadi said. Adrika laughed as Sam shook his head to Dean and Aadi as they high five each other.

"Call me if anything doesn't go as planned." Mads said stepping to Adrika's side. They both nodded before getting into the car and driving off. Mads wrapped his arm around Adrika's shoulder. Aadi gave them a look and ran to the lake in front of them to finish his exercise.

"I still think I should have gone with them." He said.

"Where's the anonymity in there Mads? Everyone with an ounce of knowledge in world politics know your face. Don't worry boys are smart and resourceful. They have been pretending to be law enforcement all their lives. They will be just fine." Adrika said putting her head on his chest. "I meant to apologize to you. You have been nothing but loving and caring to me Maddy. I should not have doubted you."

"No harms done Adrika. I can prove my loyality to you any day, everyday. Dean left his awesome Impala with keys with me. Why don't we take that for a run?" Mads said.

"I guess we can go to Nora's for breakfast." Adrika replied.

Aadi, Adrika and Mads went to Nora's for breakfast. Nora was as usually very happy to see them. Aadi loved her pies and Nora made sure he ate two extra slices. Adrika and Mads were sitting in front of each other while Aadi in the middle. They were talking while Aadi was busy reading a book he took from Adrika's library in Paradise. After a while a guy around Aadi's age came to them, he was sitting opposite to them. He had a canvas with him.

"I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to intrude. But.. "

He show them the canvas. It was them. A pencil sketch. There was a phrase written that

"This is the family everyone deserve."

It was clearly made right there. He must have thought of them as a family.

"Beautiful.. Really.." Adrika said as she signed the picture. She then wrote her paradise Address there and said "finish it. I'll pay you for this."

"Thank you mam.. Dude you are lucky.. Your sister and her husband love you like their son." He said to Aadi before leaving.

"That was interesting." Aadi said.

"Thank God he didn't call me your father. I really thought the gray in my hair will give me up." Mads said trying to see his reflection in the spoon.

"Stop that.. You look amazing to me." Adrika said taking that spoon.

"That's all matters." Mads said.

"Wow.. No wonder he thought you two are married." Aadi said.

"It's not obvious darling but as Mads and I are closer than normal friends people may assume it." Adrika said.

"And also he is perfect for you." Aadi said.

"I'm not having this conversation with my Son. I'm going to pay for food. You two come out." Adrika said as she got up. After she was out of ear shot Mads snatched the drink literally from Aadi's mouth and put that on the other side of the table. He turned to him completely and asked,

"What the hell was that about?"

"What.. I was just trying to help you."

"That's your mother."

"We are literally in a different universe. You are in love with her and she loves you. You deserve each other. And I like you. It's just win win situation."

"That doesn't change the fact that she is your mother."

"It didn't bother you in our own time and universe. Why do you care now? You were such a bold and fierce personality. What happened to you?"

"Priorities change kid. We are in a different kind of war."

"Important thing is I'm in your side. And I think in this universe you two should end up together. She should subconsciously know that you are available and perfect for her. Then only she will turn to you when time is right."

"It's bad enough to get dating advice from a 20 year old. But it's down right creepy when it's from Aadrith." Aadi laughed at him. Mads also cracked into a laugh.

"I always respected you commander. Always loved you. You were the only person in my life with whom I felt a connection instantly. I didn't had to try to be comfortable around you. I just was. You deserve happiness Commander and here I can see it in your eyes. And I can't tell you how happy I'm for you." Aadi said. Mads could not help but hold the side of his face.

"Guys.. Let's go.." Adrika yelled from the door.

They went back to the city and wait for Dean and Sam. Sky was there and they met. Adrika manages herself well despite of all those information. Sky went out after lunch. Leo came to visit and she had to tell him everything as she couldn't keep anything from Leo. He didn't leave after that and decided to wait for the brothers. Adrika was in her room late that day when Aadi came to get her.

"Mumma they are here." He said.

"Really.. Where are they?" She asked getting up from the bed.

"Umm.. Uncle Dean is furious Mumma.. He went straight to the liquor cabinet." He said. Adrika instantly knew what happened.

As they came to the room Sam was sitting with Leo. Mads was standing in front of them and Dean was chucking a glass of whiskey like water. He was looking furious. Sam gave her an sympathetic look as he saw her. Dean took a look at her and turned to finish his drink.

"Guys.. What is it.. Sam?" Adrika asked.

"We met the guy. He told us everything to keep his name out of the murder investigation." Sam said.

"And?" Leo prompted.

"Did you know that Adrika and Sky signed a prenuptial agreement." Sam said.

"I do. It was set by my boss. Adrika's father. It was for their assets in case of separation." Mads said.

"What were the terms?" Sam asked.

"Wait.. I'm sorry I don't understand.." Aadi said.

"A prenuptial agreement or a prenub is something married couples sign if they don't want to share their property in case of separation. It gives them a controlled financial leverage over their spouse. The terms were set according to them. It is normally used for a clean divorce." Sam explained.

"So people who marry each other don't trust each other over material things?" Aadi asked. Adrika understood how these concepts could baffled him.

"It's complicated than that. Well you see people can be greedy. You have to understand, Adrika married a lot lower than her social standards. She is a princess. Sole heiress of a large and powerful kingdom. So if she judge wrong and someone marry her just for money then they get half her inheritance just like that. So her father did this to see Sky's intention. And no harm in securing his daughter's future." Mads said.

"Not to mention Sky's family." Leo said.

"The terms were, Sky won't get any of her inheritance. The shared assets will be equally divided. Adrika will get 70℅ of the company as she invested from her inheritance. And if they have any children, the sole custody will go to Adrika. She would decide if Sky could be in their lives." Mads said. "Why were you asking?"

"Because he isn't just an asshole, he is also a shysty son of a bitch." Dean said finally.

"Dean.." Sam tried to stop his brother.

"He went to the lawyer to discuss methods to dissolve the prenub before time. 10 years. That's your time of renewals right. Scumbag didn't wanted to stay that long." Dean finished. Adrika sat down on the sofa near by.

"Adrika.. " Leo asked.

"No.. Yah.. I'm ok.. I can't believe it's actually true. What I saw.. Juro wasn't lying." She said.

"So what's her motive?" Sam asked.

"Love. That's what Juro told me anyway. She wanted out of the marriage after she knew about Sky. But celestial rule doesn't allow separation from soulmates. Unless you are in different universe. Or get rebirth. She couldn't go there, or die. So she woke my consciousness. Now I'm a different person. I didn't marry Sky. I can be with anyone. In this case Juro." Adrika said.

"That's explains your attraction towards him." Leo said.

"You don't look convinced." Mads said.

"It's way too easy. And something doesn't add up. Something is bothering me. I can put my finger on what but.." Adrika tried to explain.

"So what now?" Sam asked.

"Leo is it possible to have false memory?" She asked.

"What.. Um.. Difficult.. Almost unheard of. But possible I think." Leo said.

"You know what else is unheard of, the soulmate of a PrakritiKanya not to be loved with her. How can you not love someone who's Soul is bonded with your own. Nakul used to had mental and physical breakdowns the years where he supposed be with Droupadi and they didn't even think of having marriage. How could Sky cheat on Adrika.. He could literally die from the pain on his soul." Adrika said.

"But he did met the lawyer.." Sam said.

"There are some truth in Juro's memories that he showed me.. But the things that I saw.. I don't think it's Adrika. What ever I learned about her.. I don't think she would react like that. She would rather kill Sky than behave like a damsel in distress." Adrika said.

"True. But if she was heartbroken then it can be possible for her to go to someone other than a mutual friend for help." Leo said.

"The help isn't the issue.. Its the memories. It's just doesn't feel right. It's just hard to believe when I see myself in his.."

Adrika stopped and looked at Aadi. She didn't need to say anything more. Everyone understood. Aadi's face and ears were red. He was looking here and there to see for an excuse to leave for a while.

"Alright.. Kid. Go get some glasses from the kitchen. We all need alcohol in our system to process through this." Dean said and no one had to twist Aadi's arm. He practically ran to the kitchen. Dean sat down on the arms of single sofa on which Adrika was sitting. He handed her his glass of whiskey which she gulped down in one go.

"I almost said in his bed in front of my son." Adrika said to Dean.

"Yah you did." Dean said.

"I feel dirty." She said hiding her face in Dean's torso.

"You and me both sister." Dean said wrapping an arm around her head.

"Adrika I have to ask you something that maybe helpful in knowing if that was a false memory... An illusion charm. Very hard. Old world magic. Very few witches and wizards are left who knows this." Leo said. Adrika nodded. "When I saw you with Juro. It was clear that you were scared of him. Not mentally. Physically. Your body language was very tensed. You didn't relaxed seeing me. On the contrary it seemed like I caught you in a vulnerable moment."

"I guess.. I mean I didn't want anyone to see me that morning. I just found out about a lot of things." Adrika said.

"But he was weak. Physically vulnerable. He could barely stand. Yet you were terrified. Was he was in physically domination on you when you saw these memories?" Leo asked. Adrika hold her face and then looked up,

"Yes.. Oh my god yes.. He let me see those memories.. I wasn't seeing his memories. I was seeing his dreams. His imaginations." She said realising everything. He was kissing her that time. Her whole focus was on the kiss. The resistance. She wanted him off of her. She was struggling.

"I don't want you anywhere near a man with that kind of imagination. Sammy and I will handle things from now on." Dean said as the protective big brother he was.

"Sadly the exact opposite I have to do." Adrika said.

"What do you mean?" Leo asked.

"We have spent a lot of time figuring out why I'm here. Let's take a traditional intake. I will just ask someone who knows. This time he will tell the truth. Because this time he won't let me see anything, I will force myself into his memories." Adrika said.

"Then you will need your elements. Two powerful ones. Fire and water. Uncle Sammy now it's about time we give our powers to it's owner." Aadi said from the door.

Hi everyone..
