Which point of view to use?

I hear a lot about the struggle of choosing between writing in first or third person (I don't like second person much personally, but I know it's pretty big on here, especially in the fanfictions. To me it's just unappealing to my eyes.)

Here's my input:

If you want to focus on one character, and entail all of their deep thoughts and feelings, then first person is the a good way to go.
However, my suggestion for using first person is that you only tell the story in one point of view. Now I'm also guilty of switching points of view, and some readers do like that. But to me, it just seems messy and seems like you're indesisive about who is the main character. When you switch point of views it can get confusing and messy, so it's best to avoid it, in my opinion. If you want to talk about all the characters, but still only focus on the single main characters feelings and thoughts, then third person limited is a good match.

Here's where third person view comes in. There's 2 main types I will cover: limited and omniscient.

In third person limited, you write in "he/she/they" form, but you only write about one characters feelings and thoughts. This means you can talk about all the characters, but only go into depth with one character.

In my personal favourite, third person omniscient, the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of all the characters, and, once again, writes in "he/she/they" form. This one is the best to me, because you can write about all of the characters feelings without dealing with the mess of switching points of view.
