Personally, for me, I find that the best place for an A/N, or an author note, is at the start or end of a chapter.

An A/N can be used for whatever you like, be it sharing news, putting up a warning about the chapter, thanking people for reading, or including any information about the media you post.

I find that when an A/N is used during the chapter, it pulls the readers away from the story momentarily, which interrupts the magic of getting engrossed in the story you want to tell.

That's just my preference because it seems a little bit neater and more coherent to have an A/N at either end of the chapter.

That being said, if you find that your A/N fits better in the middle of the chapter, then go ahead and do it, like I say, you're the author, you're the boss.
