One of the best ways to capture the attention of readers is to have an official cover for your story.

It's pretty important, in my opinion, to have a cover with a catching image - that relates to your story.

Especially if your story is about a famous person, please do not use a picture of someone else. Like, say it's a story about Obama but you use a picture of Clinton. That throws readers off, and it can also make you seem like you didn't plan things through. If you want to use another picture, say of nature, do your best to make it obviously related to the story.

Continuing with the cover, you should include your title on the cover. You can have the standard top center location, or you can get artsy with it, it doesn't matter, as long as it is clearly legible.

You should put your name or username somewhere on the cover so it's clearly your story. It also makes the book seem more official.

Wattpad has an app dedicated to simply making covers, creatively called Wattpad Covers, but I personally prefer the app PicsArt, because it seems to have more choices and generally looks better. It's free and easy to use. It doesn't require WiFi to use, but it does work better when you're connected to WiFi or Data.
