Chapter 9
It was a normal, peaceful early morning in the Akatsuki. No one was awake, and not a sound was made in the house.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!"
"W-wait! I can explain, Danna!"
"Like hell you will, I'll make sure of it after I give you the beating of a lifetime!"
"No, Danna- DANNNAAAAA AHHHHHH!"
Screaming could be heard throughout the entire house, and Kyo laughed the whole way through it.
Kyo wanted so badly to see Deidara's "beating of a lifetime", but couldn't move. Both males came into the room.
Deidara was slumped over, panting, with a punch mark on his left cheek. An enraged and considerably embarrassed Sasori came in soon after.
Deidara flopped face down on the bed, and turned his head to look at Kyo.
"It's your fault, hm."
"Why?"
"It's always your fault."
"What?"
"I hate you."
Kyo just looked at him. "..Really? You don' like me now?" Deidara growled into his sheets, and turned the other way.
"Yes. I hate you, hm."
Now, her feelings were genuinely hurt. She still thought it was funny, though.
Sasori walked over to Deidara, and folded his arms. "Explain to me why you did... what you did to me." Deidara groaned, and sat up. He pointed to Kyo.
"Because this little b**** made me! Hm!" He shouted with anger. Kyo stared up at the celing, not sure how to reply without making Deidara mad.
"Tha's.. not true, Deidara-san.." She whispered.
"What did you say!"
Sasori scratched his cheek, an irk mark still above his head. "Enough, brat. Just tell me what happened."
Deidara calmed down, and thought, 'what did happen?' He thought, and remembered the whole experience.
He realized that the whole thing wasn't Kyo's fault. He just said that out of frustration when Sasori punished him. He didn't want to hurt his pride by apologizing to a little girl, though. He closed his mouth, and didn't answer.
Sasori let out an exasperated sigh, and went over to Kyo. "What happened?" He said firmly and seriously.
"It was my fault, Sasori-san. I'm sorry. It won' happen again."
Deidara was astounded. Why did she lie for him, and why did she take the blame? He just gazed at her, looking at her expression to try and find an answer.
"You're lying. You couldn't make the brat do anything, even without your injuries." Sasori replied.
"Please understand Danna," Sasori turned to look at Deidara, "that I did it to make Kyo smile."
Sasori felt a burning sensation form on his cheeks. "So you decided to kiss me!? Out of anything your puny brain could have thought of, it had to be that?!"
It was Deidara's turn to blush. "You're right." He muttered, mortified. He looked up, his face still pink from embarrassment. "B-but it worked, right, Kyo?" He looked to Kyo with a pleading look.
She giggled. "Yeah, tha' was really funny! You even had the makeup to go with it! You looked really pretty when you kissed Sasori, I now should call you.." She grinned mischieviously.
"SasoDei!"
-
Both males were absolutely mortified. They looked at each other. "No way, un!" Deidara stammered. "Not with that grumpy block of wood!"
"Now look what you started, brat. How are you even going to explain the makeup on your face.." An idea struck him, leaving a smirk plastered on his face.
"Yes, yes, I could bring him to Konan. Konan would think that he stole her makeup, and that would rid me of this brat for good. Yes!" He concluded aloud.
"Noo Dannaaa!" Deidara whined. Stomping could be heard outside of the door, and knowing who it was, Deidara shook in fear.
The door slid open, and there they were. Hidan, Kisame, and Konan were standing through the doorway. If looks could kill, both males would be dead five times over.
Sasori stared back at them with a bored expression. He pointed to Deidara. "It's his fault."
Hidan cracked his knuckles. "D*mn right it is. Now get over here, little b****, you're gonna die." Deidara screamed while Konan gave a little slap to Hidan to remind him not to cuss around Kyo.
Let's just say that Hidan, along with Kisame and Konan were not morning people.
-
Anime tears were streaming down Deidara's cheeks as he sat, beat up on the floor.
"Idiot.." Sasori mumbled, and Kyo chuckled.
"It's not funny to laugh at others' expense!" Deidara shouted at her.
"Not unless it's you, little brat." Sasori retorted.
Konan bent down to Deidara, held his chin up to her, and looked at his face. She squinted. "Why do you have makeup on?" She asked slowly.
"It wasn't yours! It was Taki's!" Deidara said hurriedly. Hidan chuckled. "Now you look like some hot chick off of the streets, what did you do?"
He lifted a finger, pointing it to Kyo. "It was to make her smile." He said flatly, almost regretting his decision to do so.
"Aw how sweet. But," Kisame soon turned angry, "unfortunately for you, you ended up awakening us. How do you think that makes us feel?"
Deidara whimpered, and covered his head, laying on the ground.
"Enough." Came a stern voice. They looked around for who it was, and their line of sight eventually came upon Kyo.
"Stop being so mean to Deidara, he was really kind to me. He doesn't deserve to be harassed by you."
They were thoroughly surprised by Kyo's scolding. It was a very matured and motherly voice, and not once did she make the grammar mistakes like she did before.
"Now," her voice was back to normal, and childish again. "could you help me out of bed? My back's starting tuh hurt a little.."
-
Kyo was feeling bored. Along with the nauseousness that came, her head was spinning. Obito was up in his office, and she was alone. Kakuzu said that she could move her hands, but to be careful, because her arms were still healing.
She was sitting upright on the couch, with a clipboard in her lap. Deidara had been nice enough to give her some pieces of paper and some colored pencils, before leaving, along with the rest of the Akatsuki, on a mission.
She sketched everything around her, out of boredom. It was her first time drawing, and she was getting the hang of it.
An idea popped in her head, and she started to draw again.
After she was done, she set the sheet of paper beside her. She looked up, and stared at the ceiling for a while. Something didn't feel right.. she looked down at the floor.
She was just in time to witness a big green thing move up through the ground. A little shriek escaped her lips in surprise.
Zetsu.
"Who are you?" He inquired curiously.
"I'm Kyo. Um, your friends lemme live here.."
He cocked his head to the side. "Our name is Zetsu. Uh, welcome, I guess. You really don't know how to talk to ladies without sounding like an idiot. Oh, shut up."
She smiled slightly to avoid an awkward start to the conversation. "Eh.. good mornin', Zetsu. I was uh, just kinda sittin' here."
Zetsu pulled himself through the floor all the way. He looked around.
"You cleaned this place up just like how she used to.. Don't go all emotional now, you'll make me look bad. Whatever."
Kyo gazed at him, purely interested. "Come closer."
Zetsu obeyed, walking over to her, and bent down to her level. She couldn't touch him, but still she curiously observed the features of his face.
"Beautiful.." she muttered.
"Really? That's exactly what she said when she first met us, too."
His eyes wandered over to Kyo's drawing. He picked it up. "What's this?"
Kyo giggled as she watched his reaction.
Her name was up at the top left corner. A picture of what he supposed to be Deidara was sketched.
His long hair was drawn and colored neatly, with uneven blue circles inside the head which he had assumed to be eyes, and a line curved to what he guessed to be a frown. Deidara's eyes had black lines protruding from it, which resembled long eyelashes.
The sloppy writing underneath cleared it up. "DEIDARA WORE MAK UP" His glance shifted curiously to the next image, to which he almost cringed.
A character with big mocha brown eyes and red spiky hair, which he supposed to be Sasori, was connecting lips with Deidara. The picture made Sasori look angry, and Deidara worried.
"HE KISED SASORI" "Ugh." He said aloud in disgust. He looked on reluctantly to the last image.
It was a picture of a furious Sasori. "SASORI GOT MAD" He looked over at Kyo with revulsion, and asked what the hell this picture could possibly be.
"It's SasoDei!" She chirped. "They kissed this morning!" Ew. "Did.. did they love each other or what?" He asked reluctantly.
She shook her head furiously, to which he sighed in relief.
"Deidara did it tuh make me smile!" She replied happily. Oh.
"Well.. what did Sasori do?" He asked, smirking slightly, already knowing the answer.
"He gave him 'a beating of a lifetime'! Then all the noise woke Kisame-san, Konan-chan, and Hidan-san up, and he looked dead afterwards!"
Zetsu wasn't sure if that was something a five year old was supposed to say, but nodded anyway.
"What about Obito?"
Kyo's eyebrows furrowed, and she suddenly lost her smile. She shrugged. "I dunno." She answered dully.
"You don't know?"
"Mm, I don' wanna think 'bout him right now."
