Chapter 19

Sasori was working on his puppets at his desk, with the lamp being his only source of light. He picked up his tool, and brought it to one of his most beloved puppets. Taki.

Dare he mend her in any way? Or should he forever leave the Taki puppet as she was? He decided in his head that it was okay to renovate her puppet time and time again.

He was fixing a broken arm, when the door slammed open, and a flash of blonde was all Sasori needed to confirm who was racing through the door.

He felt a strong force slam into him from the side, nearly knocking him down. Deidara grinned, tightening his hug on Sasori. "Hi, Danna!~" He looked over at the puppet Sasori was working on.

He let go of Sasori, and pointed at it. "For once, that is a piece of art I can agree with, un." Sasori groaned at his presence, folding his arms tightly over his chest.

"It's Taki, we worked together on her puppet a long time ago."

"Yeah, well.." Deidara felt the puppet's cheek, and quickly pulled his hand back, creeped out. It felt just like real skin, and it was slightly warm, just like a real body.

He shook his hand, as if to make the creeped-out feeling go away. "Aaannyways," He leaned in on Sasori's face in glee. "I believe it's time you told me that secret of yours, hm!"

Sasori furrowed his eyebrows at Deidara's childish actions. He pushed Deidara's face away, earning him a whimper.

"Fine," he put up both arms in defeat. He sat on his own bed, expecting the blondie to sit on his own bed to listen. But no, he should instead have easily expected him to do otherwise.

Deidara jumped on the bed beside Sasori, smiling as if he had just won the lottery.

Sasori sighed heavily. "Do you really want to know..?" He asked softly. Deidara nodded, trying not to let his excitement show.

Sasori smirked a little, and pulled his shirt off. Deidara blushed slightly at the strange action, when he realized that the canister inserted in the puppet's chest was no longer there.

Rather, there wasn't even a hole there. He felt over it, looking into Sasori's eyes. "You're.." he trailed off. Sasori finished for him.

"Human."

When they got there, Pein and Obito used a jutsu that made it so no one would recognize them. They were about to enter Konoha, when two people stopped them.

They wouldn't really call it "stopping", more like a call out to stop, but nonetheless they stopped anyway. They looked to the left to see two ninjas behind a little counter thing with an unamused look on their faces.

"State your business," one of them said boredly, as if he resented being here in the first place.

"We are from the Hidden Rain, and need to see the Hokage right away," Pein said firmly. They nodded and with a wave of their hand, they were in.

Kyo looked up to Pein, and whispered, "Pein, why did you lie?"

He looked down at her before returning his gaze straight ahead. "They wouldn't have let us in any other way. And besides, I am from the Hidden Rain, you are from who knows where, and Konoha is Obito's home. So in reality, it really wasn't a lie at all."

Her mouth made an 'o' shape in understanding, and she continued to walk with them. Eventually they reached the Hokage's office, knocking three times.

"Come in," came the stern womanly voice that welcomed them inside. Taking off their jutsu so she could recognize them, they came in.

Her jaw dropped as a ninja that was in front of her, obviously to receive a mission, eventually turned around as well. It was Kakashi. Well, thought Obito, this is coincidental.

His eyes, or rather eye was wide in disbelief. He took of his headband that covered his left eye to make sure of what he was seeing was real.

Both ninja suddenly got into their battle stances. "Explain. NOW." Ordered Lady Tsunade, although they found a hint of nervousness and surprise in her voice.

"I figure that you know what's happening right now, Kakashi," Obito said calmly, looking straight into Kakashi's eyes. His eyes widened a little more, and he dropped his battle stance, as he began walking towards them.

"Kakashi. What. Are. You. Doing. Get. Over. Here!" Tsunade shouted in a hushed whisper.

"So you really are going to sign the treaty..?" Kakashi asked softly. Obito looked the other way, blushing a little. He didn't like doing as Kakashi said when he was younger, and it was starting to show. Kakashi was right about the treaty, and Obito was wrong.

As Tsunade began to figure out that they weren't a threat, Kakashi looked down at Kyo in surprise. "Who's this? Did you train her to be like you guys?"

Kyo grinned up at him. "Naw, I'm just a regular annoying little girl. But nonetheless, Obito liked me enough to take me." Kakashi looked up at Obito.

Obito knew for a fact that under the mask Kakashi was smirking at him. "Really? How.. sweet." He said slowly to mock him.

Obito blushed once again, and looked away. "You've.. got those books that you read.."

Kakashi blushed a little in return, mumbling, "I've always had those and you know it."

It was obvious to all of them in the room that they were truly best friends. As they fought like little children, Pein walked with Kyo to Lady Tsunade.

"It's true, we're here to sign a treaty between Konoha and Akatsuki. Do you accept?"

She slammed her hands down on the desk, leaning in to him. "You think I'm going to accept, just like that? No way!" She threw her hand to the side. "You could be leading us into a trap for all I know!"

Pein calmly took his hand from Kyo's, and looked into her eyes. "We will stay here, and prove it to you however you like until you understand." He looked down at Kyo, and waved his hand around her.

"This little girl convinced Obito of doing this. You can ask her whatever you like, and I promise she will answer honestly."

Tsunade sat down in her chair, and closed her eyes, rubbing her temples. "Leave the girl with me. You and the other one can go with Kakashi."

"Understood." Pein bowed, and tugged Obito along with Kakashi out the door, to leave Kyo and Tsunade alone.

Kyo's eyes resonated with Tsunade for some reason. "Red hair.. and blue eyes..? Might I ask which clan you are from?"

"I don't know," Kyo answered. "It has appeared to me that I have lost nearly all memories of my past ever since Obito found me."

Tsunade slowly nodded, trying to piece everything together in her head. "In that case.. you might be an Uzumaki.. but we'll have to run tests on you to make sure."

"Yosh!" She exclaimed.

Tsunade sighed, and tapped her fingers on the desk. She called a name that Kyo didn't recognize, and soon a woman came running in through the door, holding a pig.

"Y-yes, Lady Tsunade?" She asked, panting.

"Shizune, I need you to go get Team Kakashi and tell them to be here in three hours!" Tsunade commanded, and in the blink of an eye, Shizune was out the door with a "yes ma'am!"

Tsunade continued to tap her fingers on the desk impatiently, as if Shizune wasn't coming back with a reply fast enough, even though she sent Shizune to get them just seconds ago.

"While we wait," Tsunade said with annoyance clear in her voice, "why don't you tell me about yourself, young lady?"

Kyo made herself stand taller so she could put her arms over the desk, until Tsunade pointed out a chair next to her, which she took.

Sitting down in the chair, she realized that she was too short to see over the desk, causing her to then allow herself to sit up on her knees.

"My name is Kyo, it's nice to meet you." She bowed respectfully. Tsunade nodded her head in return, which brought a little smile on Kyo's face. "I turn six in a few weeks, and I really-"

The doors burst open, and a man came running through. Tsunade sighed, annoyed that it wasn't Shizune. "What do you want," she asked rudely.

"Lady Tsunade, the Kazekage wants to see you immediately!" Tsunade stood up quickly, placing her hands on the desk flat. She leaned in.

"What? Why? Where is the Kazekage?!" She shouted. Kyo didn't know what a "Kazekage" was, but she assumed that it was a man of great authority.

"He's outside the building as we speak! He says that the five Kage were to meet here in two days!"

Tsunade relaxed, sitting back down in her chair, slapping her hand over her face. "That's right, I forgot that was the date of the meeting." She looked at Kyo. "Sorry, Kyo, but we're going to have to talk later. Although.."

She rubbed her temples again in deep thought. "Although you don't have anywhere to go. I suppose that you could stay by my side, but only if you don't speak."

Kyo quickly nodded her head, starting to feel uncomfortable without the Akatsuki with her. She looked to the side, slowly asking, "What's.. what's a Kazekaze?"

The ninja there stared at her in disbelief, as Tsunade answered. "The Kazekage is kind of like a ruler, or leader, like me. I am the head of Konoha, while Gaara- er, the Kazekage, is the head of Sunagakure."

Kyo nodded in understanding. From Tsunade's mess up she asserted that the Kazekage's name was Gaara.

The ninja from before bowed, and said, "Then let's go."
