Chapter 15

"Ouch! Hey, watch it, hm!"

"You should have been more careful. Don't walk in front of me like that, brat, of course Hiruko's foot is going to step on your heel."

"It still hurts!" Deidara cursed under his breath. Stupid Sasori. Stupid Hiruko. Stupid Obito and his missions.

It wasn't like he disliked going on missions. Just the ones that didn't involve blowing things up. Especially this one.

"Obito, the little ba-"

"I wouldn't insult your leader. He can probably still hear you from here. Then I'd finally be rid of you for good."

Deidara clenched his teeth, watching Hiruko slink forward as if he were royalty.

Obito probably put them together on purpose, making fun of Kyo's little SasoDei crap. He growled at the thought. He hated being made fun of. Despised it.

"Are you still thinking about Kyo's ship thing?" Sasori asked, in his deep Hiruko voice.

"N-no, hm!"

Sasori grunted in response. "Hey, I don't like it either, you know." He stopped, then continued. "But we have to go for this scroll. I don't know what is important about it, but if our leader wants it, we need to get it."

Deidara could care less. He had already heard this from him so many times he lost count. Though he would rather not get Obito angry.

A few hours later of walking, Deidara felt like he was going to drop. "C'mon, Danna, we've been walking forever, and I'm hungry. Thirsty, and tired, too, hm!"

"No."

"But Dannaaaa!"

"Stop whining, and- HEY WAIT!"

Deidara dropped to the ground. Sasori looked around quickly. "Argh, do I really have to do this.."

He looked around again, making sure no one saw. Emerging out of Hiruko, he got a grip on Deidara's arms. "Little brat, you're slowing us down." He mumbled, annoyed.

Picking up Deidara was embarrassing for him. He didn't have the muscle to hold him, not to mention that his body was that of a seventeen year old's.

He dragged his body over to Hiruko, and pushed him inside. Dumb human brat. He shouldn't have stayed up so late last night. Now the lack of sleep took him down.

He was contemplating whether to take Deidara with him, or send Hiruko back with him inside. Although he was completely useless on the mission asleep, Obito would not be happy seeing that Deidara had come back without the scroll.

He growled, angry with Deidara. He was going to have to use his own chakra to cover for him. He connected his chakra strings to Hiruko.

Closing the hatch with Deidara in it, he pulled the cloak over the puppet again. He began walking down the path, bringing Hiruko and Deidara with him.

(By the way, this book does not support SasoDei. Although I sometimes enjoy the thought of it, I do not want an opinion that will stop readers from reading this book.)

-

Obito yawned. "You tired, Obito-san?" Kyo asked. She was sitting in his lap in his office.

He nodded. "Would you stop it with the "-san" part? If anyone saw, they would think I'm running a daycare here!"

She slowly started to smile. "Is it because you don' want people to know that you're evil?!" Shifting up onto the top of the desk, she showed him a scary face.

Pointing at him, she stood up on top of the desk, frowning upon Obito. "You are the evil bad guy that doesn' want anyone to know who you are and where! You hide behind a mask that hides your true identity!"

Staring at her wide-eyed, he watched her put her hands together, bat her eyelids, and her expression turned mournful.

"An' you were secretly sad inside, 'cause your love and world fell apart right in front of you. You wanted to change the world so it wouldn' be bad anymore."

She leaned to the side, to emphasize the sadness. "Everyone hated you for what you did. But what you did was good!"

She turned happy again. "But then, he found a girl who was the best thing he ever saw! His heart and mind changed, and he didn' do bad anymore!"

Clapping her hands together, and sitting back down on the desk, Kyo grinned. "Wasn' that a good story, Obito-sa- er, Obito? I made it all by myself!"

Obito felt as if he had just had a heart attack. He clutched his chest. He thought for a second that she had found out. About everything.

"I think it's time for lunch," he breathed out. She gasped.

"L-lunch!? Where?!"

"In the kitchen, of course."

"Why in the kitchen? The kitchen looks so nice, and it would smell bad if I brought rabbits to eat in the kitchen!"

"Ew," Obito immediately reacted. He forgot that she ate rabbits instead of real food. All the days that she spent here, didn't someone feed her?

"Well, I have work, so why don't you go down to Kisame and Itachi? Just ask for lunch, and they will get you something to eat."

"But they're on a mission!"

Oh no. That's right, no one but Hidan and Kakuzu were in the hideout. He didn't want her to bring rabbit's blood in the house again, but he also didn't want Hidan or Kakuzu to have to do anything with her.

He leaned back in his chair, and groaned. "I hate having to say this, but go to Kakuzu and Hidan, and ask them."

"But you said that they're scary, and to stay away from them!"

"Never mind what I said. Go and ask them if you're that hungry. But remember, if they look scary to you, then you go back to me, okay?"

"Yosh, Obito-s- Obito!"

Kyo jumped down from the desk onto the floor. Just before exiting out of the door, she turned to him. "I feel," she started in a serious tone,"that my story was no story at all. Don't you think?"

-

Deidara opened his eyes to darkness. He rubbed them, and sat up, looking around. He felt around the place where he sat in with his hands. He was in some sort of sphere thing made of wood.

"Ow!" He whisper shouted, when he hit his head on the top. Utterly confused, he pounded on the top of the thing with his fist.

"Hey! Get me out of here, hm!"

Soon the contraption stopped moving, and the top of the wooden capsule was lifted off. He was met with a pair of familiar brown eyes.

"You don't have to yell, brat." Sasori responded, annoyed.

He helped Deidara out of Hiruko. "What the hell did you put me in that thing for, hm?"

Sasori furrowed his eyebrows. "Be lucky we're on a mission together, because I wouldn't have taken your rude outburst lightly otherwise. "That thing", ugh, you have no sense of what true art is, brat!"

"No way, hm! That ugly block of wood? Art!? True art lasts but a mere moment before it becomes a beautiful explosion!"

"Brat, how can you even savor the moment? The sculptures you make before it gets blown up is what was beautiful!"

Deidara clenched his fist. "No, it's-" he stopped. "Hold it. Did you just call my sculptures.. beautiful?"

"No way, brat, you misheard me. Nothing about your art is beautiful."

"No, no, I heard you, you said my sculptures were beautiful!" Deidara grinned. "I knew you liked my art, hm!"

Sasori sighed, embarrassment entering him. Did he really just say that? Now the idiot is going to go on forever about his art.

"Yes, your sculpture was beautiful, not the explosion. Are you deaf?"

Deidara slumped back into his defeated posture. "But you still called a piece of my art beautiful," he reminded.

"Shut up before I kill you."

"Now you're talking as if you were Kakuzu!"

Sasori bumped him to the side with his shoulder.

"Ohhh ho ho, you're embarrassed now, Danna! You're funny, you might be more fun than I thought you were, un!"

He looked over at Sasori. "That reminds me of another thing. You're shorter than me! I'm taller than you, Danna!"

"That's pretty sad, brat. You're just trying to find every flaw in my seventeen year old puppet body, and make fun of it. Remember that I'm about fifteen years older than you."

"Your body is two years younger than mine! That's funny, hm!"

"Idiot. You already knew that. You already know that I'm better than you, and now you're trying pitifully to be superior in any way to me."

Deidara crossed his arms, and pouted. "You're no fun, Danna."

"As you tell me every day."

Sasori twisted his arm back, and forth, what Deidara guessed to be his own way of stretching.

"Let's get going. We already wasted enough time."

"Why did you put me in Hiruko, hm!"

"You're still barking about that? You passed out, and it was too bothersome to carry you, so I put you in Hiruko."

Deidara batted his eyelashes at him, making fun of Sasori. "So you do care about me!"

"No, I just didn't want to get in trouble with Obito."

"Nooo, you could have left me on the ground, and dragged me with your chakra strings, un. You cared about me!" He shouted with glee, mostly to annoy Sasori.

"Stop it."

"Is that all you have to say? Wow, you're so embarrassed that you have no other words left to protect yourself, hm!"

"I don't get embarrassed."

"Yes you do! I've seen you when Taki was still around! You can go beet red sometimes, like your hair!"

"Then that's one more thing I have to fix on myself when we get back."

"So you admit it."

They started walking again, this time with Sasori out of Hiruko. "Admit what, brat?"

"That you do get embarrassed, un."

"So what if I do every now and then?"

Deidara smirked. "You're not as emotionless as you like people to think, huh?"

As silence answered his question, he suddenly got excited. He ran to Sasori's side, and shook his arm.

"About what, then? What do you get embarrassed about?" He smiled. "A girl, maybe?"

"No way, brat, just stop talking about this, it's making me feel lower than I have to be."

Deidara grinned widely. "So if it's not a girl, then what is it, hm?"

"Just wait until we get back."

Deidara gasped with excitement. Sasori trusts him! And he was more happy to figure out that Sasori was more human than he thought he was.

It was ever since Taki entered their lives that Sasori changed a little. But today, he was showing Deidara a side he had never seen before. A side that put him in a good mood thinking about for the rest of the day.

He had a sudden urge to want to finish the mission, so Sasori would tell his his little secret.

He got so happy that he hugged Sasori from behind, jumping. "What's gotten into you, brat?! You're acting like a schoolgirl!"

Deidara dropped him, and hugged himself in glee. He was so happy today.

"Ouch, brat, you dropped me." Sasori mumbled from the ground. He watched Deidara skip ahead of him, as he tapped his fingers on the ground, agitated.

What could Deidara possibly be so ecstatic about?
