Chapter 10 part 1

Zetsu immediately knew that something was wrong. He walked out of her peripheral vision, right behind the couch.

She thought that he had gone away, so Kyo sighed. Having nothing else to do, she fell asleep.

Zetsu stood up all the way from his crouched position, and hung over the edge of the couch, looking at the wondrous little girl. Curiosity overcame him when he saw the bandages. He had so many questions.

Why is a little girl here? Why did Obito allow her stay? What was the bandages for? And most important, why didn't she want to think about Obito?

It annoyed him, his own curiosity. It couldn't be helped, though, that's just part of who he was. He always had a strong desire to know something that he couldn't quite grasp.

Legs beginning to ache, he straightened himself and walked away. He trudged up the stairs. The only one he could ask (and the most probable) was Obito himself.

He walked down the carpeted hallway, until he came to the large white door. He raised his fist, and remembered that knocking wasn't necessary.

Emerging through the wall, he looked at Obito, who jumped at his presence. Obito glared at him, with a hidden embarrassment inside of him.

"Don't do that," he warned. Confused, Zetsu raised an invisible eyebrow at him.

"What're you talking about, the normal you would have sensed me miles away. Something's wrong."

Obito let out an exasperated sigh as he buried his fingers into his hair. An untidy stack of papers laid before him, seemingly untouched.

"What'em I doing?" He mumbled to himself. Puzzled, Zetsu sunk back into the wall, and appeared through Obito's desk. He squinted at him, using his natural observing skills.

Obito looked sleep-deprived, and a heavy scowl of displeasure was etched onto his face. His hair was ruffled up, and a depressing aura surrounded him.

"Tell me what's wrong." Zetsu urged. Obito slowly brought his eyes to meet Zetsu's, his hands still gripping his hair.

"I did something wrong, and it's been bugging at me for quite some time." Was all he said. Zetsu shrunk into the desk, and popped out of the ground. He pulled up a chair, sat in it, and motioned for him to go on.

Obito exhaled deeply, and sat himself up straight. "This will take a long explanation. First, we go to how I got her in the first place."

Zetsu assumed that he was talking about Kyo. He nodded, impatient. He wanted the answers to all of his questions.

Obito told him everything, from beginning to end. It was almost like how someone would spill all of their secrets to their best trusted friend.

Zetsu inclined his head in understanding. "Maybe she has post-traumatic stress disorder," he suggested, bringing his observations of the situation to a conclusion.

"Post.. traumatic.. stress....?" Obito repeated slowly in confusion.

"I don't know, but if she did then the reasons why would be very logical." He cleared his throat. "Post traumatic stress disorder is a mental health condition that's triggered by a terrifying or traumatic event.

"There are probably two causes why she could be experiencing this. One, the wolf attack. She had experienced an extremely violent act. Two," he eyed Obito carefully, "abandonment."

The idea struck Obito speechless. His mouth hung open, as Zetsu continued. "Especially to a child as young as Kyo, nothing, not even the wolf attack, could have been worse than being abandoned. It means to her that she was useless to you, enough to cast her away.

"The reason she doesn't want to see you or think about you should be obvious now." He knew this was very hard to take, so he chose his words carefully.

"Your existence is a horrible reminder of what she had experienced."
