Chapter Seven -Room Four-

3rd person

The lunch hour went by uneventful. Afterwards, everyone was assigned their shared rooms. A different Official, a bubbly girl with bright pink hair, called out the paired names. Y/n hated her voice, it seemed inappropriate for the current situation. It reminded her of kindergarten. When the teacher would pair people up for group projects. She remembered getting a boy with orange hair, but not his name. Johnny? Jimmy? She didn't no, nor care. She definitely liked the girl better then Lachlan, thinking of it, anyone could be better than him. The Official smiled, naming off the pairings, "Max and Ryan. Adam and Zek. Ross and-" The girl droned her out, lost in her thoughts. She could sense in a way the two boys beside her. Neither wanting to leave her side. She found it strange and...annoying. At this point she'd rather be with Jex and her endless talking. The girl wasn't bad or anything she just....caused headaches. The silence was killing her. The tense air never leaving. Y/n didn't even know why the two hated each other. Neither was she stupid, she knew they were fighting for her. She chose to avoid all thoughts leading to them like-liking her. She paid attention when the high pitched official said Jex's name, "Jex and Jerome." A few feet away, she could hear her friend let out a happy gasp. Once again, Y/n droned out, listening only for the few name's she knew. Somewhere in the back of her head, a small voice whispered, 'Please let me be with Mitch!' Startling herself slightly, Y/n shoved it away. Finally she heard his name, however, she only felt disappointment as the girl called out, "Ian and Mitch, play nice, I know about the incident." Y/n felt Mitch stiffen slightly. What incident? She thought, wondering about what happened. She heard quiet murmurs, probably talking about the event. Finally, near the end, her name was called. "Y/n and Se-" She hesitated, correcting herself, "Ty. Y/n and Ty." Out of everyone, she got Ty. Y/n wasn't mad, or scared, just confused on the odds. And  what was with the correction? Did something change it last minute? She heard Ty chuckle to himself, and heard Mitch hiss. She, herself, giggled slightly. The last few name's were paired up, and they all found their partners, and were herded away. Ty slyly managed to grab my hand, grinning and gently pulling me threw the crowd. All seemed eager to get out of the area. Mitch, before he could snap at Ty for taking her away, had his shoulder suddenly grabbed. "Come on." A slightly familiar voice said. He looked over his shoulder. It was the guy he punched. His voice was calm, not angry or threatening. He had dark brown hair that was fixed neatly, as well as a neatly cut beard. Black sunglasses rested over his nose, exposing his bright blue eyes slightly. He wore a black shirt, a dark blue sweater over it. He wore the kind of pants you might wear at a funeral, and shoes. His nose was bruised, but not bleeding any longer. The man, Ian, turned to walk away, Mitch hesitantly followed. He hoped this guy wouldn't be trouble. A sudden wave of guilt flooded in, he felt the need to apologize. "Um, H-hey," He started, "I'm sorry about what ha-" Ian cut him off, "Don't be. The Games does this too people. They're all on edge and jumpy. I'd probably do the same thing if." So Mitch dropped it, realizing how right he was. He was on edge. But, mostly for a completely different reason. Y/n. He didn't understand why he felt the need to win her heart. Maybe the way she smiled, the way the light caught her best features, or her eyes, a beautiful E/c. Maybe she didn't know it, but she was beautiful. And he wasn't about to let some smug face emo take her away from him! He'd kill him before it happened. Suddenly, he slammed into Ian, not seeing him stop. Stuttering a sorry, he backed up. Ian only grunted in reply, opening the door labeled Room Four, in bold letters. The man opened the door, and walked in. The room was nice, he realized. With cream colored wall and a white carpet. There were to beds, one black, the other white. No windows, he realized, just a expensive looking lights dotted around. There were even couches, white and clean looking. Birch tables beside it. He wanted to splatter red wine all over it. Or Ty's blood. He grinned at the latter. Than stopped, this girl was driving him to insanity! Ian strolled over to the table, plucking up a neatly folded letter. Mitch must have missed seeing that. He read over it quickly, then handed it over to Mitch, and preceded to claim the white bed. It read in neat cursive:
Welcome to room four! Sleeping hours are from Eight PM to Six AM. If you are found roaming anywhere else between these times, a punishment will follow. The room is to be kept clean and neat. The room is equipped with your personal wardrobe filled with clothes, a mini fridge with drinks and snacks, a corded phone, and any other necessary things. Officials will check the room daily, if anything under regulations are found, the doer will be punished. The door will be locked as well, ensuring no one will escape. If these doors are somehow pried open, a loud alarm will sound off. The doer will be punished.
Mitch shuddered, being punished didn't sound so good. His roommate, his sweater, shoes, and glasses tossed carelessly to the floor, laid on top of the sheets. His eyes were closed, and his chest rose slowly and evenly, saying he was asleep. Mitch, kicking off his own shoes and jacket, as well as shirt, clicked the light off, crawling into the bed. He starred at the dark ceiling. Ten minutes passed, and he wasn't asleep. Twenty passed, still awake. Soon, it was over an hour later, he barely moved, his thoughts filled with one thing. Every time he'd close his eyes, he'd see Y/n's smiling face.
