Chapter Eleven -Messin' up-

Can't think of anything better for the title :c

3rd person

The next day, Mitch was gone. Y/n felt worried, her thoughts swarming with terrible thoughts. She was guilty. Was it my fault? She thought, Did he run away because of that? Or did something else happen? After breakfast, The officials crowed the the kids into a small room, this was unusual, for it wasn't the training room. Everyone was forced to sit, and Lachlan stood at the front of the room, scowling over the students. Y/n took her seat in the back, Jex just barely managing to snag one beside her. "What's happening?" The blind girl whispered to her friend. "I don't know." Jex admitted, feeling quite nervous. An official glared at her, he held a large gun, and was dressed in black gear. That's new, the white haired girl thought, quickly shutting up. There were two of the geared up officials in the room, one on either side. "Now." Lachlan spoke in a rough tone, his eyes sweeping over the kids, "One of you tried to kill another selected member of the games. If you speak up now, and admit to what you've done, the punishment will be minimal. If you don't....you'll have your tongues snipped out." He grinned slightly, as if liking the idea. Hell, he probably did! No one made a move. After a few hard seconds, Lachlan hissed, "Alright, let it be how it is. Mitchel Hughes is exempt from training today and possibly tomorrow. The rest of you get double the hours." A few groans of protest rose, and one even cursed loudly. "Adam you get to clean the cafeteria for that!" 'Adam' cursed again. Jex snickered besides Y/n, instantly getting shouted at Lachlan as well, "You get to join him!" "What!?" She practically shrieked. Adam shouted across the room, "Welcome to the cleaning squad!"
"Don't you need more than two people to have a squad?" She replied.
"Crew?"
"Sure, whatever."
Y/n ignored everything, her thoughts settling on the fact that someone attacked Mitch make her want to cry. She tensed up suddenly, Why am I feeling like this? She didn't like the fact that she cared, but she did, she really cared about this boy. So, on account of her feelings, she snuck out during training, and crept along the wall, searching for the infirmary. "Hey!" She gasped at the new voice, almost falling over. "I-I.." Y/n tried to think of a lie. "Hey, it's alright, I'm not one of the workers or anything!" The not laughed, "It's Adam. Remember? The guy who's supposed to be cleaning the lunch room?" Y/n relaxed slightly, "O-oh..." Adam smiled, even though the girl couldn't see it, "You snuck out? So did I. What're you looking for? Jex?" Y/n shook her head, "A-actually, I'm looking for the infirmary." Adam grabbed her hand, "Oh, you're going the wrong way! Follow me!" Instantly, Adam began to drag her through the halls, finally pushing her threw a certain door, "It's in here!"
"Tributes ain't aloud out d'ring training." A snappy male voice said, with a southern accent, most likely a male nurse. Adam instantly spoke, "No, no, Miss (L/n) here was having a panic attack, Lachlan told me to bring her here. And, well, forgive me if I'm wrong...but, I don't think it's a good idea to go against Lachlan, seeing that he's in a foul mood." All the hummer left Adam's tone, it was replaced with a serious tone, it was even convincing! "Tch," The male nurse growled, "Whatever, put 'er next to the boy, in the back." He paused, "Then get the hell out of 'ere!" Adam gently guided her through the office, the nurse glowering as they passed. He walked through a doorway, gently setting Y/n into a seat, it felt like a recliner, only slightly stiffer, and colder. Adam chuckled, "He's just mad because he has to stick needles in peoples butts." The blind girl giggled slightly, thanking him. Adam hummed, quickly rushing away, back to the cleaning squad, or crew. Someone moved slightly next to her, fabric rustling. "H-hey." Y/n instantly identified it as Mitch. The same, damned worry came back, she found that she was stuttering, speaking quickly, "Wh-what happened!? Lachlan said you were s-stabbed!" He laughed slightly, "Good to know that Lachly-Dachy worries about me!" She slapped him slightly on the shoulder, easily pin pointing where he was. He coughed, and the girl worried she accidentally hit his wound, yet he was simply clearing his throat. "A-and you worried as well. Anyways, what was all that about?" He completely avoided the question! She frowned, "All what?"
"That little act?"
She talked quickly, eager to find out how it went down, "I sneaked out of training and found Adam and he took me here and he said that I had a panic attack and the bitch-face-nurse told me to go here and then he left and then you moved and then I asked what happened and then you avoided that question with another question and I answered it and now I demand an answer."
"...whoa." He muttered, trying to process what I said. After a moment, whether he was decided how to say it, or if he even wanted to say it, he spoke, "I-I was just attacked by someone, we had a fight, and he pulled out a knife." Talking a bit slower, Y/n softly laid a hand on his shoulder, "Who?" Mitch stiffened slightly, "I-I dunno."
"You're lying." She could see right through his facade, well, hear anyways. Again, Mitch stuttered, coughing again, "I-it was...Ty." Y/n paused, thinking she heard him wrong. "T-Ty? No, he couldn't have done it. It must have been someone else, it had to be! He's so...so kind, and sweet, and-" She went on Mitch finally interrupted, "No, you don't understand. It was Ty!" He began to tell her the story, about how Ty watched everything, claiming that he'd never have her, that she was his. At the end, with a disbelieving look, Y/n laughed softly, "Maybe you hit your head," she joked, "Ty's not like that, I promise you." The brown haired boy gritted his teeth in frustration, grabbing her hand, "Y/n, I am not kidding, you need to stay away from him!" The girls humerus smile dropped, and she took on a more hostile tone, shaking her hand away, "Don't tell me what I can and can't do, Mitch. I can easily take care of myself, and I don't need help from people like you." She got up abruptly, and started to walk away. Mitch didn't know what she meant by that, but he watched her with slight despair; she walked passed the male nurse, saying that she felt find, and that she'd be leaving. He paid no attention, grunting slightly. Mitch absentmindedly reached into his pocket his hand closing around the small bottle, his thoughts swirled around all the possibilities that could happen. One thought, however, stood out: He screwed up.
