Sans, Frisk and I decided to go to Grillbys. Frisk and I ordered what we always did. And Sans got a bottle of ketchup. I was listening to Sans and Frisk have a pun war and was munching on my fries happily.

"Tibia honest. You're not very punny, Sans." Frisk told Sans with a little giggle.

"I'm Sansational!" Sans exclaimed in mock shock.

I eventually tuned them out as I got lost in my thoughts. Wondering how I could beat Chara, but I knew I could. I had Sans and Frisk.

You're hopeful. How cute. Chara sneered.

Do you want something Chara?

I want you to know that I can do whatever I want.

Why? What is it with you and control over me? Why do you control my soul?

You've done it yourself. You kill everyone because you're bored. You want to know what will happen. Do I need a reason why? You never have.

I froze as I realized what Chara said was true. I covered my face so nobody would see the guilt on my face. I had never been really good at hiding my emotions.

So, do what you do (Y/N) ... Go kill everyone. They don't care about you, you know? Only I do. That's why I erased Sans memory. For you. Because I want you to be happy. Soon you'll grow bored.

No. No you're wrong. I denied.

Kill them now before they betray you. Every has betrayed you in the past. What makes you think that these monsters will be any different? Think of all those times in your past you've had your heart broken.

As Chara spoke in my mind I felt myself break. I felt the walls I tried to build fall. It's true. Everyone has betrayed me. All throughout my life. I could only trust Chara. They had protected me and even given me magic. She erased Sans' memory so I would be happy. My thoughts became a tornado of conflicting emotions and memories. Suddenly I saw Chara in front of me and I was surrounded by darkness.

They walked towards me and extended their hand with a small smile on their face. I reached towards them, hesitant, but took their hand anyway. Their smile widened and they let go of my hand and placed something in it. It was a knife.

"Kill them. Kill them all. They deserve to die." Chara urged me. I furrowed my brows.

"But... Their my friends. They may betray me but they haven't yet." I said, still fighting.

"No their not. I'm your only friend. They'll betray you, (Y/N). I'm only trying to help you." Chara told me. I shook my head.

"I can't. Not again."

Chara's expression was that of pure anger but it only lasted an instant before it changed into a wide, insane smile. I wasn't sure which expression was worse.

"Then I'll have to show you how to do it." They told me and laughed. The scenery changed again and I saw myself sitting on the barstool in Grillbys in the middle of Frisk and Sans. They were looking at me worriedly. I furrowed my brows and then looked down at myself. I was kicked out of my body or something, I wasn't sure. I looked almost completely transparent. I hurriedly walked over to my body and tried to look at my face. I had my hands covering my face and I was slumped on the counter. I groaned in frustration.

"Chara what did you do?" I asked, only to get no response.

"Chara?" I asked again. Then I realized what had happened. Chara took over my body and they were going to kill all of my friends. That's what Chara meant when they said 'I'll have to show you.' I cussed and watched myself-well, Chara who was possessing my body- helplessly. Suddenly Chara seemed to wake up. I saw a look of relief on both Sans and Frisks face.

Then Chara laughed. It was sarcastic, insane, cold, and altogether terrifying. They say up completely and had a huge smile on their face. Chara now had a rosy tint to their cheeks and their eyes were wide and filled with insanity. They held a knife in their hand.

Sans left eye went blue but instead of fighting Chara, he grabbed Frisk and teleported out of Grillbys.

"I guess he's going to try and keep Frisk and Papyrus safe." I murmured to myself.

"Then I guess I'll have to get to him first." I heard Chara say. I looked at them confused.

"You can hear me?!" I asked. They nodded.

"Just me." They said and suddenly everyone was staring at Chara. They brought up their knife and grinned.

"So who's first?" They asked and without an answer slaughtered everyone in Grillbys. I stood by in horror and screamed at them to stop. They seemed to be in a daze.

When they were finished, Chara left Grillbys. They killed everything in Snowdin they encountered and eventually we heard a voice.

"HUMAN."

I felt my stomach drop. It was Papyrus. Sans must not have found him yet. Chara's permanent grin of insanity widened.

"WHERE HAS EVERYONE GONE?" Papyrus asked, obviously he had no idea what was going on. I shook my head and grabbed onto Chara's sleeve, trying to pull them back. They shrugged me off, but it seemed that I could touch Chara without phasing through them.

"HUMAN? WHY ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT?" Papyrus asked, suddenly nervous. Chara stopped a few feet away from him. Papyrus backed up a little and turned his head as a voice was heard.

"PAPYRUS!" It was Sans.

"Chara don't do this!" I shouted and tried to hold them back. They laughed and launched themselves at Papyrus.

A moment later and all that was left of Papyrus was his head. He looked shocked I crouched down next to him and shook my head in denial.

"Papyrus... I-I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen. That wasn't me it was Chara. I'm so sorry..." My words were a jumble but Papyrus seemed to hear them, probably because he was about to turn to dust.

"I believe in you, Human. You can... S-stop them..." Papyrus stuttered out, uncharacteristically quiet before turning into dust. All that was left was his red scarf that blew away in the wind a moment later. I turned to Chara who was looking at me in confusion.

"Why aren't you happy? You've done the same thing. I don't get it." Chara whispered.

"P-papyrus!" The voice sounded broken and I automatically knew who it was. Sans. He was holding Papyrus' red scarf.

Chara's grip tightened on the knife and they walked towards Sans. His eye lit up blue as he sobbed.

"You dirty brother killer." He growled. I ran in front of Chara and put my hands out, trying to hold them back.

"Don't kill him. Just leave. Go away! Leave him alone." I shouted as Chara looked down at me dumbfounded.

"Why are you fighting me, (Y/N)?" They asked before they got slammed into a tree by Sans. I gasped.

I thought he was supposed to do that to the soul, not the actual body. Then again this is Sans...

Chara stood up and ran towards Sans. He dodged and spoke to Chara.

"You're Chara, aren't you? (Y/N) said a demon owned their soul..."

Chara growled in frustration and tried attacking Sans again. He dodged again then brought his hand up and Chara flew up, before being slammed onto the ground. I winced.

Sans summoned his Gaster Blasters and they shot beams of light at Chara but they dodged it all.

This went on for awhile before Sans seemed to get tired. I walked over to where he stood panting and faced Chara who was slowly advancing. I moved so that I was standing in front of Sans.

"Move out of the way." Chara demanded and I shook my head.

"Why are you trying to protect him? You can't do anything and it's not like he cares about you!" Chara shouted. I knew that if I wasn't basically a ghost I would be crying. I turned around so that I faced Sans. He was staring at Chara in confusion.

"Because I love him." I whispered. Chara growled and rushed forward, slashing at Sans' chest.

I felt myself break. Everything went black.
