After leaving the ruins Chara went through Snowdin woods killing everything. Then, at one point they hid in the woods for a few minutes as Sans walked past. I sighed and hung my head.
"Just a little bit longer..." I whispered. Chara was distracted and didn't hear me, thankfully. When Sans went past they left their hiding place and started running to Snowdin town. When they got there they killed the few monsters left and stole some food from the shop.
"Oh (Y/N) lighten up. It's just a game." Chara said as they walked past Grillbys.
"It's not just a game anymore. Besides, you're in the game, you know that right. You are just coding. Hell, I am too. Maybe that's all anyone has ever been. But that doesn't mean you can just go around killing everyone!" I shouted, my emotions finally getting the best of me.
"You do realize that you have killed everyone because it was 'just a game', right? You went through sparing everyone and befriending everyone. Then you kill them all. You're even worse than me." They said with a laugh at the end. I clenched my nonexistent fists and looked away. There was no excuse for what I did.
Chara continued on until a fog started to appear and thicken until it became to thick to see.
"HUMAN? IS THAT YOU? ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" Papyrus asked worriedly as Chara walked towards him menacingly.
"Of course it would happen this way. It always does." I murmured and walked up to Papyrus. I hugged him even though I ended up phasing right through him. I held onto him anyway. I was guilty, because I let this happen. This was all my fault.
"H-HUMAN?" Papyrus asked nervously as Chara got even closer.
"I'm so sorry." I whispered as I heard the slash of Chara's knife. I felt Papyrus' body crumble to dust and heard his head fall to the ground. I looked down at him sadly.
"Well, I wasn't expecting this..." He said, unusually quiet before he turned to dust.
"Papyrus?!" I heard a small voice ask, panicked and in shock. I turned to see Frisk standing there. Chara didn't even look back. They kept walking. I was forced to follow. I didn't want to see that anyway.
*~*
Chara was relentless. They killed everything they encountered and then hunted down the rest of the monsters in that area. I felt sick knowing that that had been me once. Well, technically it had been Frisk, but I was controlling them. No matter what they said about simply "asking me for advice," I seriously doubted that they would kill everyone, even if I told them to. I think Frisk just didn't want me to feel guilty.
Eventually Chara made their way to the core. Then when the core was empty of any monsters they made their way through the castle. Papyrus, Undyne, Mettaton, even Alphys were all gone. Chara had managed to kill them all. As they got closer to the final corridor, the judgment hall, Chara started humming a familiar song. It took me a few seconds to realize that it was Megalovania. I started to sing a song I learned from my world to drown out Chara.
"I didn't know what I got into. Somehow I can't go back even if I really wanted to so what more can I do? Here in the end it's just me and you..." I kept singing as loud as I could as Chara walked into the judgement hall. Chara threw me a glare, and I felt a small satisfaction in knowing that I had annoyed them a little bit, at least. I watched as they saved and continued on to meet Sans. Their smile grew as Sans came into sight. He was wearing Papyrus' scarf and had a large grin on his face, but it wasn't his usual grin. It was more creepy. In fact, it almost mirrored Chara's.
"Hiya Sans.~" Chara greeted and he just sighed.
"Let's just get to the point." He said and the battle started. I heard some footsteps and found Frisk running to a safer spot of to the side, which was actually right next to where I stood in my ghost-like form. I felt guilt well up inside of me when I saw the fear on their face.
I turned back to the battle. Chara had dodged all of Sans' bones and Gaster blasters. They pressed fight as the option popped up, but of course, Sans dodged.
"Did you just expect me to stand there and take it?" He questioned.
"You can't stop me from hoping." Chara said as they started dodging more attacks.
"(Y/N) why did you give up? Please just keep fighting Chara." I heard Frisk shout over the blasts of the Gaster Blasters.
"She's weak, that's why." Chara told Frisk will a smirk as it became their turn.
"Come on. Just stay determined, (Y/N)." Sans pleaded.
I wish I could guys. I just don't have it in me. I thought to myself and tried to stay determined anyway, but it didn't work. I just couldn't see the point.
"Don't you remember everything we went through? I never gave up so you can't either!" Frisk cried. I thought back to all the times I was playing the game. They were right. Suddenly, I felt myself have a little more determination.
Chara growled in frustration and pressed the Fight button, missing yet again. They dodged most of Sans' attacks and then it was their turn again. They were about to press the Fight button again but I ran in front of them.
"Are you seriously going to fight back?" Chara asked incredulously.
"Yep." I replied.
"You there (Y/N)? C'mon... Don't let this weirdo just take control. Fight back." Sans encouraged.
"Don't do it. You can't fight me forever. I will make your life a living hell." Chara threatened, with a hint of fear in their voice. I wasn't worried though. I had a trick up my sleeve.
Come on (Y/N), you didn't really think that you were just gonna get possessed and have that be the end, did you?
I closed my eyes and went back to all the good memories I had. Soon, I felt myself fill with determination. I took back control, much to Chara's dislike, and opened my eyes again. This time, however, I was back in my own body. I smiled weakly and looked at Sans.
"Listen, if my calculations are correct, we don't have much time." I said and looked around for anything that was off.
"W-what do you mean? That is you, right (y/n)?" Sans asked.
"Yeah. Yes it's me. Listen, I didn't want to tell you before in case Chara overheard me, but I feel like I have them under control." I started saying. It was true, I felt Chara stuck inside my soul. They had no way to hack, unless they took control again. But I was stronger than them.
"I know how to defeat Chara, but ...well, all of your memories of all the timelines will be erased. All of your memories of me." I told him. A look of horror came over his face and he started to say something.
"I'm not asking you to make a decision. I'm just telling you what is going to happen. " I said sadly.
"No, you can't! H-how?" He asked.
"My brother. He's going to erase my save file. I asked for him to do so after a certain time period. I wanted to give myself some time to try and find a happy ending, you know? I don't get the happy ending though. Nobody does after genocide. Anyway, time here and my world are a little different, but Tom should be erasing the files any minute now." I explained.
No. You can't do this to me. Y-you'll fail! I'll just come back.
You won't remember anything either, Chara. I told them.
"No. You can just keep fighting Chara. Just stay determined. Please. Don't do this. I don't want to forget." Sans pleaded but I shook my head.
"I can't fight them forever. We both know that. Besides, this isn't where I belong." I said.
"No, you're right... I just... Wish there was another way." Sans murmured.
"I know. I do too." I said. Frisk ran towards me and hugged me. I was a little thrown off balance, but luckily Sans had already ended the battle, so there wasn't a Fight button for me to accidentally press.
"Hey Frisk, it'll be alright. You'll still have Sans and everyone else." I told the small child and they nodded and wiped their tears away.
You can't do this to me. Chara shouted in rage and fear.
"Watch me." I muttered.
"What's Chara saying?" Sans asked.
"That I can't do this to them." I told him.
You can't! This can't be it. There's no way. I... I don't want to go. I don't want to die! Chara cried.
"This is what you deserve." I said, louder than I meant.
You deserve the same fate as me. You deserve to die! Everyone does. Humanity is filthy. You all just need to die! Chara shouted. I covered my ears out of habit, even though Chara was in my head. They were really loud.
"(Y/N)?" Sans asked, concerned, while Frisk looked at me with a worried look on their face.
"I-I'm fine." I murmured and I felt myself start to black out. I looked down and saw that I was fading. Suddenly my heart-rate picked up.
"I'm leaving." I realized aloud. Suddenly, I really didn't want to go.
"(Y/N)!" Sans shouted and started to reach out for me, but I blacked out.

I'm so sorry. This was short and just really terribly written. I've just been kinda out of it I guess. Next chapter will be the last chapter of this book. I have an idea for the sequel, but I don't know if I should do it. I need your opinions. Should I make a sequel to this book?
