Chapter 3: Hostility

Notice: All characters unless stated otherwise are 18+, on top of that, there won't be any horny shit written in this book.

Through the smoking doorframe, three octolings entered the room. Their skin was a turquoise color, and the tentacles on their heads were a lime green fading into a cyan color. Their gear was a white version of the standard Octoling armor, and they wore black tinted shades with white-hinged arms and a cyan glow. They all possessed octoshots that had were colored white, with a cyan gun tank, tubing, and nozzle.

Kat screams out, "Shit those are Sterilized! Start shooting!" Purple ink pellets began to fly towards the Sterilized. Pellets flew everywhere, some landing their marks while others missed and turned into splotches along the wall. The barrage of pink ink from Kat forces the dead-looking octolings to flip over a bed by the door and take cover.

Tanya lobs a splat bomb at the sterilized and lands it behind them all. It detonates with a loud pop that echoes throughout the room and hallway, covering the sterilized in yellow ink. Despite the splat bomb's power, the Sterilized pop over their cover and return fire to the inkling. Tanya ducks behind the flipped bed as cyan-colored pellets begin to fly overhead. Kat takes the opportunity to begin shooting at one of the sterilized, landing half a tank of ink on the sickly colored octoling. The sterilized octoling gives out a mechanical cry of pain and falls to the ground.

One of the sterilized begins to shoot towards Kat, while the other starts to tend to their fallen comrade. Tanya takes this time to lob another splat bomb over their cover. It lands in between the three of the sterilized octolings and before long detonates, killing the injured sterilized and wounding the other two. Both sterilized are blown out of their cover and are swiftly taken out by a barrage of yellow and purple ink from both Tanya and Kat.

"Good job Norton, we gotta move now though," Kat inspects the charred doorframe, "I haven't seen them use this kinda stuff before, where did they get that technology?" Kat gives a confused expression, before sighing and moving down the corridor. Tanya followed and readied her heroshot. They arrive back to the room where Kats squadmate had passed away.

The table she passed away on contained a pair of dog tags and a knife on top of a puddle of ink. Kat moved over and pocketed the knife along with the dog tags. Tanya goes to ask about it, but Kat cuts her off, "I'm going to give her sister these, she's the only family she had." Kat moves to the door to leave, but mechanical voices stop her in her tracks. "Shit, there's more out there?!"

The voices get louder and closer to the door, forcing Kat to move back and aim her octoshot at the door. Tanya does the same as the door is forced open by a sterilized octoling. Tanya and Kat begin to spray wildly until their tanks run dry, killing the sterilized instantly. Before they have time to refill and get out, more sterilized appear. This time sterilized octotroopers with their white and cyan turrets join with some more octolings.

Tanya and Kat's eyes widen in fear as their guns click, signaling that they have no ink left in their tanks. The sterilized octotroopers take the opportunity to begin aiming at the two before a barrage of red ink kills them, causing the sickly colored octarians to fall over dead in the doorway. Behind the octotrooper stood several dark figures with what appeared to be stalks of kelp in their tentacles.

"Are those elite octolings?" Tanya turns to Kat, whose staring at the octolings in awe. Kat keeps staring in awe before realizing that Tanya was still with her. "Crap, that's the Minister's Elite squad! They'd definitely kill you!" Kat shouts out in panic. Before she could pull Tanya away, the Elite Octolings begin to enter the room. Kat quickly stands in front of Tanya, shielding her from any harm.

The Elites begin to aim their weapons at Kat. As their about to fire, an octoling steps out in front of them and signals them to hold fire. The octoling walks out to the middle of the room,  she is tall with purple tentacles that contain little red circles in them. She speaks in a menacing tone with her shades' red glow adding onto the menace, "Staff Sergeant Katilyn Monroe, please step aside. You aren't protecting that inkling are you?" Kat starts to sweat out of fear, and begins to speak up, "I-I'm not protecting her, I'm-," The tall octoling cuts her off, "Then mind telling me what you're doing in front of our enemy?"

Katilyn turns her head and whispers to Tanya, "I'm sorry, this is the only way. Just trust me." Kat then brings her full attention to the Octoling in front of her, "Ma'am, I captured this inkling for interrogation. I believe that we can extract valuable knowledge from her." Tanya is shocked at what she says but realizes what she's planning. The Elite brings a hand to her chin, before speaking again, "What information could we possibly gain?" Katilyn goes to speak up, "We could possibly gain information about how to improve our reverse-engineered weaponry, we could also gain invaluable information on the locations of their bases and such."

The elite octoling sighs is frustration, "You have a point Sergeant. Squad, get ready to take the inkling in." Kat moves away from Tanya as the other octolings begin to encircle them. A bead of sweat rolls down Tanya's face before a sharp pain to the back of her head causes the world around her to go black.

Tanya uncomfortably awakens in a room dimly lit by a light bulb. In front of her is a table with some sort of pad and a chair, with a door behind it. She attempts to get up, only to find that she's tied to a chair. The door opens and an octoling steps in. The octoling steps forward and pulls the chair out to sit in it. The octoling emerges from the darkness into the light, allowing Tanya to see their features.

The octoling in front of her had dark purple tentacles that were tied up in a bun, with three stalks of kelp that looked as if it were dead. Her skin was pale, apart from the  she wore a chipped and damaged version of the standard shades. She wore a Black jacket with 2 white stripes going down the sleeves over her armor. Her armor was in disarray, as some of the metal parts were burnt and chipped.

"Tanya Van Norton, that's you correct?" Tanya goes to speak up, but gets cut off by the Octoling. They lean over the table and begin to speak, with venom laced in every word "I don't care if its really you or not, either way, you're giving me what I want. And you know what I want."

Tanya uncomfortably shuffles in her seat and musters up the courage to respond, "I'm an acting agent of the Squidbeak Splatoon, my codename is Agent 4." A response that the Captain taught her to use if she ever got captured. The octoling backs up and walks around the table. She grabs Tanya by the collar of her Hero Jacket and rips her out of the chair, pinning her to the wall next to them.

"Don't try to play the hero with me, you hear? Now tell me what you know." She whispers in a dangerous tone. Before Tanya could respond, the door to the room opens. The Tall Octoling from earlier was standing in the doorway, with her hands behind her back, "Cherep, you can put her down now. The general wants to talk with her." Cherep drops Tanya on the floor and questions the tall octoling, "What does he want with her?"

The Elite Octoling responds, "Not apart of your assignment right now, Your squad leader wants to have a chat with you." Cherep opens her mouth to speak, but grits her teeth and rushes out. The Octoling glances over at Tanya, who's straightening her jacket out, "Come with me, you already know what your needed for." Tanya's face turns yellow in embarrassment. She begins to follow the Elite down the hallway. They walk down the hallway to an elevator and enter it. The Elite Octoling presses the button for the 41st floor.

The elevator begins to rise with a few rumbles and mechanical whirls. Tanya clears her throat, "So uhhh, How are you?" The octoling doesn't respond, or even bat an eye to Tanya. A bead of sweat runs down the side of Tanya's head as she goes to speak again, "What's your name?" No response once more. Tanya goes to speak again, but gives up and waits for the elevator to reach it's destination.

A ding rings out in the elevator. it comes to a halt and the doors open to reveal a large room. in front of them is a long, red carpet that leads to the end of the room where a large wooden desk and two luxurious chairs are placed. Behind the desk sits a male elite octoling. He is wearing a military uniform adorned with medals, and a large army cap that covers his tentacles. He looks up from his papers and his purple eyes lock onto Tanya.

He calls out to the two, "Ah! It seems our guest has arrived! Please take a seat."
