The blonde-haired girl was sitting quietly on the campus bench, tapping her feet on the ground in sync while waiting for a certain person to come. A few moments later, the girl she was waiting for finally appeared with a warm smile and flashed back her beautiful smile.

"Did you wait long enough?", Ningning asked to the blonde on the bench, standing right in front of her.

"Nope. Just for a couple of minutes", Jimin stood up from the bench after fixing her black summer dress, pushing the crumbled edge down properly.

"So I guess, let's go home?", the Chinese asked and Jimin immediately answered her with her nods. "Let's go", she said, clinging her hand around her best friend's arm as they walked away from where Jimin was sitting.

Yu Jimin, 25 years old. Almost done with her studies. She's been an orphan since she was a little kid but she's lucky enough that someone kind helped her to pay all her study fees. Her parents died in a plane crash back then, and now she's living in a rented apartment with her housemate, Ningning.

Ning Yizhuo, 23 years old. Jimin's housemate, friend, and best friend. They lived together for almost 5 years already so their relationship was more like a real sisters, and they deeply cared for each other. But unlike Jimin, Ningning's parents were still alive, only that they were in China, not Korea.

*****

As usual, Jimin and Ningning took the bus to their home. Their rented apartment wasn't that far from their campus, only 5 kilometers from their college.

As soon as they arrived at their door, Jimin saw a delivery box on the floor right next to it. She picks it up to read the shipping details, squinting her eyes. "For me?", Jimin confused for a second but smiled immediately realizing where the box might have come from.

"Is it from Mr. Kim?", Ningning asked while entering their passcode number on the door.

"I think so. Let me ask him", Jimin took out her phone and dialed Mr. Kim's number while following right behind Ningning, walking inside the home.

"Hello? Mr. Kim?", Jimin greeted him happily thru the phone, sitting on the couch while Ningning was already headed toward her room.

"Oh, Jimin? Why with the sudden call? I guess the parcel I sent you just arrived?", he asked with a soft chuckle.

Jimin laughed lightly, "Yes. What is this, by the way? I didn't ask for anything tho", Jimin said feeling a bit guilty about the gift she just received from the older man.

"I bought them from my work trip last week. There are 2 items inside. Give one of them to your housemate", the man continued, still in his fatherly tone.

"Really? Thank you!", Jimin squealed happily to the phone. "You've already done a lot for me, you shouldn't do this. Thank you. I don't know how should I repay all of your kindness after this", Jimin smiled, feeling the warmth she received from the older man whom she always thought of as her own father for years.

Even tho Jimin was an orphan, Mr. Kim who was a successful businessman used to come by Jimin's orphan house when she was little. He's the one who pays everything for Jimin's primary school, middle school, high school, and even her college years.

For Jimin, Mr. Kim was like a godfather to her. She was really thankful to him but she still didn't have the chance to repay his kindness.

The phone call soon comes to an end as Jimin walks towards Ningning's room. She opened the door and handed Ningning the gift she received from Mr. Kim just now.

"Hmm? For me?", Ningning asked in confusion while looking at Jimin. "Yeah. Mr. Kim bought one extra gift for you", Jimin smiled, tucking her other hands inside her sweatshirt pocket.

"Yay! New branded shirts!", Ningning jumped in joy while still holding the shirts she received just now. Jimin just looks at the younger girl's cuteness with a happy feeling. Jimin really adores Ningning like her own sister. Why not? Ningning can be extra cute sometimes.

A few days later.

As usual, Jimin was there at her college, inside her class, but not with Ningning. They are not in the same course, and not even in the same year. Instead, Jimin was sitting right next to her other friend, Aeri. A Japanese girl who sometimes talks too much that Jimin needs to cover her mouth from being extra careless with her words.

"Jimin, are you free after class?", Aeri asked.

"Yup. Why?"

"Let's eat outside. Bring Ningning too. I also gonna bring my younger sister", Aeri said. Jimin finds it pretty exciting since she doesn't usually eat outside with her friends. So, Jimin happily agreed with Aeri's request.

"Alright then"

*****

Jimin was standing together with Aeri near the parking lot, waiting for Ningning and Aeri's younger sister, Rei, to come. Aeri promised them to drive to the restaurant in her car.

A few seconds later, suddenly and out of nowhere two superbikes from afar were drifting their way towards where Jimin and Aeri were standing. The bike speed is ridiculously fast, and the two girls realize that those crazy bikers didn't even show any sign of slowing down.

The bikes dashed towards the girls, just inches from them, leaving traces of wind and smoke. Luckily enough, Aeri managed to dodge in time, but Jimin?

She dodged a little late, stumbled with her steps, and fell onto the rough tarred road. She winced in pain while looking at those bikes that drove away innocently like nothing had happened just now.

Aeri ran towards Jimin worriedly, wincing at the sight of some scratches on Jimin's knees and palms. "Are you alright?", Aeri asked in concern while helping Jimin to stand up, fixing her shorts from the specks of dirt from the road.

"I'm okay, Aeri. Thanks", Jimin smiled assuringly, and Aeri finally could sigh in relief.

"Thanks god you are fine. That crazy b*tch! I'm gonna burn them alive...", Aeri tightens her fist in anger. Who the heck riding their bike that insanely fast inside the campus area? It was just crazy! They should be sued and punished, for god sake!

Behind those angry reactions from Aeri towards the bikers, Jimin just sighed in disappointment, knowing who was the owner of one of the bikes that almost hit her just now. Jimin smiled bitterly with the thoughts of that certain girl inside her mind.

"Kim Minjeong..."

*****

"Oh my god, Jimin! Are you alright? Should I bring you to the hospital?", Ningning asked while helping Jimin to walk towards their apartment.

Jimin thought she would be fine from the incident that happened just now. She was even completely fine when they were eating together just now. But she didn't know why her leg seemed to hurt more as time passed.

"It's gonna be fine, Ning. The pain is just temporary, I assure you", Jimin smiled at Ningning while holding tight onto Ningning's shoulder for support.

"I don't think this is fine", Ningning isn't convinced.

"Let's see how will it be tomorrow. If it still hurts, you can take me to the hospital. I promise", Jimin smiled at Ningning after taking her seat on the couch.

"Gosh... That Kim Minjeong, really? Couldn't she become any better? Enough with her crazy daily life, now she almost takes your life?? What the heck is wrong with her!", for many reasons, Ningning was extremely angry towards Minjeong, the girl who almost injured Jimin with her crazy stunts.

Kim Minjeong, 24 years old. It's true that she was the daughter of Mr. Kim, and that's why Jimin knows her better than anyone. Not like her father, Minjeong was totally different. Like, totally. After her mother's death 10 years ago, Minjeong changed a lot. She used to be the kindest and the cutest human on earth in Jimin's eyes. But, since then, she's now problematic, wild, and uncontrollable. Her life was really.... dark.

Jimin used to be close to Minjeong too. But after she changed, she became a more quiet and cold person. Soon later she became addicted to those dirty things she had done until now.

"Let her be. It's not like you didn't know what she was like", Jimin said with a little sigh.

"Urghh... If I were Mr. Kim, I really couldn't stand her at all in my life!", Ningning keep mumbling beside Jimin while Jimin just keep her ears open, hearing every word that coming out from Ningning's mouth in silence.

*****

A few days later.

Jimin is glad that the doctor said she just sprained her ankle and now Jimin is almost fully recovered. Class just ended and as she promised to Mr. Kim this morning, she will come to the Kim family mansion for dinner. Jimin decided to go there by taxi because their house was a bit far from their college. Almost 10 kilometres away.

As soon as she arrived at the mansion, she was greeted nicely by the guards. They always called Jimin 'Miss Jimin' despite Jimin wasn't a part of Kim's family. She was just a girl that Mr. Kim helped since she was little. That's it.

"Oh, Jimin! Come in", the familiar voice from the house's front door brought a smile to Jimin's face. This wasn't the first time Jimin stepped inside the Kim's mansion. Maybe this was the 4th time? Is it 5th? Actually, she didn't remember it quite remember.

Jimin headed towards the dining room in seconds, already familiar with the house. She could stroll around the whole house alone, Mr. Kim always allowed her to do that.

As soon as she took her seat at the dining table, she realized that there was one more figure who wasn't there yet. "Where is Minjeong?", Jimin asked. Later, Mr. Kim takes his seat right across the blonde with a heavy sigh.

"As usual, she's out. Probably not coming back until midnight", Mr. Kim said with a heavy heart. Jimin could feel that the older man was greatly disappointed in Minjeong's behavior.

"I'm...", Jimin paused her words, looking deep into the older man's eyes in concern. "I'm sorry", Jimin feels a bit guilty talking about Minjeong in front of Mr. Kim just now.

"It's okay", he said trying to assure Jimin with his little smile.

But then, it all became a sudden long silence.

They didn't talk for about a minute or two, sticking their eyes only on the food at the dining table. When Jimin couldn't handle the tension much more, she tried to speak first but was immediately cut off by the man in front of her.

"Jimin...", Mr. Kim's voice came out a bit hesitant. "Can I ask you a favor? Just one and I will never ever ask you no more", he continued.

"Sure. What can I help you with?", Jimin flashed her little smile, but immediately faded away the moment she saw the older man kneeling on the floor, right beside where Jimin was sitting. Panic and shock, Jimin immediately stood up from her seat.

"Mr. Kim! What are you-"

"I'm begging you, Jimin! Please! I would bet everything in this world for you, and this is the only favor I will ask you to do for me. I admit that I am a bad father to Minjeong. I wasn't there when she needed me. I am often busy with my work until she becomes like that

"Mr. Kim! I'm begging you, please stand-"

"I didn't know what to do anymore. I did everything I could for her. I took her out with me during holidays to spend more time with her but she never change. I thought maybe she needed someone to love after she lost her mother. She needs someone to take care of her like her mother. That's the only hope I have to change her..."

"Mr. Kim, please-"

"Jimin, I'm begging you... Would you marry Minjeong for my sake?"

That's the endgame for Jimin.

"W-What...?", Jimin was left dumbfounded. She was... shocked.

Mr. Kim slowly lifted up his head and Jimin could see that he was crying. Somehow it makes Jimin's heart ache inside. Seeing Mr. Kim crying like this for the first time in front of her really makes her heart broken into pieces.

"I know.... I-I know it was too much to ask you this, but... I d-don't know from who and where should I ask for help anymore! You are the only person I could trust, Yu Jimin. I guess the kindness in you could help her change, could help her feel the love she lost once. O-Only if you could help Minjeong while I was gone... Please... I don't know what to say anymore...", now Mr. Kim even putting her head and hands down, begging Jimin with all his heart.

As someone who loved and helped Jimin since she was little, it would be easy for Jimin to say yes. But the problem now is that it's about Minjeong.

It's about Kim Minjeong.

Marrying Kim Minjeong is no joke. Jimin is afraid maybe one day Minjeong's attitude will also be the one that would lead Jimin to her death. But, how can Jimin refuse a favor from someone who saved her whole life story all these years? After all, he was begging Jimin like this.

Jimin takes a deep breath, putting her hands on the older man's shoulder with a light squeeze. She sighs heavily once before she speaks.

"I understand. I'll... give it a try...", Jimin said with a really really heavy heart.

The decision itself already killing her inside, but she cannot refuse. Hell, she couldn't refuse. Her common sense would beat her up if she refused. She doesn't want to refuse.

It's hard for her to refuse.
