disappeared

It's the next month after all the confusion and fear Sungjoon blabbered out to the couple, but thankfully nothing serious happened throughout their days. No one tried to hurt them, despite both of them knowing that someone was still out there, waiting for the right chance. Minjeong always wonders how true the things Sungjoon had told her and Jimin.

Things also started to get better for them in another way. Minjeong learnt to appreciate and adore Jimin more, knowing it must be hard for Jimin to absorb everything and all the shock she had been going through, while Jimin treated Minjeong as kind as always. Probably more clingy than before, but Minjeong loves it. She simply doesn't care about that anymore. So far, they just need to be happy and appreciate one another. That's all that matters.

Enough with the sensitive topics. Today wasn't the day for them to think about the bad stuff, because it is the day of Mr. Kim's return from a long work journey.

Minjeong drove her wife together with her to the airport, hand in hand as they waited for Minjeong's father at the arrival section. Minjeong could walk just fine now, thanks to the care Jimin gave her. A smile flashed on the younger girl's face, feeling the gentle squeeze on her hand to provide her with the support she needed if her injury suddenly acted up.

As soon as they saw Mr Kim come out from the crowd with luggage in his hand and a big smile, Jimin immediately ran towards the older man, hugging him tightly. Minjeong followed right behind her with a tiny smile. She didn't say anything, but deep inside her, she was glad that her father was finally back.

"Welcome back, Mr. Kim," Jimin greeted as she pulled away from the hug, and got a small smile in reply. "Thank you, Jimin."

The man then shifted her gaze towards his daughter who was just standing still behind Jimin with both her arms on her chest, looking somewhere else to avoid eye contact. What a tsundere.

"I heard the things that happened to you, Minjeong. I'm glad you made it out alive," he said with the same smile, and Minjeong answered him with a low "Thank you."

Jimin then took away the luggage from Mr. Kim's hand, pulling it as she walked forward, leading the way with Minjeong by her side, holding her wife's hand tightly. A happy smile flashed on both of their faces as Mr Kim watched them from behind, shaking his head with a low scoff.

"These kids, really."

The family stopped at a nearby Korean restaurant inside the airport to eat. It has been a while since they had a proper dinner in three. Mr Kim was busy going through lines of menus on the booklet while Minjeong currently talking to Jimin about something that sounded blurry for him to hear.

Minjeong pointed her phone screen to her wife, "Look at this." Seeing the screen flashing in front of her face, Jimin reads the message Minjeong just received from an agent they paid to dig in more about Jimin's family history about a week ago. Finally, they got something.

It is a picture of some documents, stating that Jimin actually a daughter from a rich family. Her dad actually was the owner of a company called JJ Group, and Jimin never knew about it. The company still exist now, which means—

"You owned a company, Jimin! You are literally an owner of a company but you never knew about it!" Minjeong said excitedly to Jimin, while Jimin was still puzzled and confused with the new facts.

"Is this document trusted? This — It just doesn't make sense. I mean— How?"

Hearing the ruckus from her two beloved girls, Mr Kim put the menu down, "What's up guys? What's wrong?" before he asked.

"Father, we just found out that Jimin actually the owner of a company. She's basically not poor at all all these years," Minjeong statements make Jimin give her a light slap on her shoulder before her wife says, "Rude."

Somehow, Mr Kim's expression darkened as he flustered. "Which... company?"

"JJ Group! Here, look at this!" Minjeong showed her phone to her father, still flashing the same documents of Jimin's 60% ownership of the company while the other 40% was on someone's else name, now the other owner of the company from Jimin's family disappearance. Mr Kim's expression remained the same. Flustered, yet composed. He still managed to flash the girls his usual smile.

"I mean— I couldn't— It's just— How?" Jimin still couldn't move on with that.

"Let's drop by the police station after we drop father at the house. We need to confirm things with them," Minjeong said happily, too happy for Jimin despite Jimin herself still being stunned by everything. It's really hard for her to swallow this.

"Minjeong, I—"

"You are the heir, Jimin! You are a rich person! I mean, you were never a poor one in the first place! That company was yours! You always said to me how much you want to pay back our family, I guess you could do that now! You don't need to worry anymore! You owe us nothing anymore," Minjeong hugged Jimin with all her might and that's when finally, Jimin slowly smiled to her ears. The way Minjeong strokes the back of Jimin's head makes the older girl smile wider.

Now she knows who is her biological mom and dad. Now she knew her family background, at least. If people asked her around about her parents, Jimin could say confidently how she was raised in a good family despite not remembering anything. Her parents died when she was just three years old, yet her parents still put her name there as one of the company owners.

Her parents must have loved her a lot.

Moments later when they were busy eating, Jimin excused herself to the nearby airport toilet, leaving only Minjeong and Mr Kim at their dining table. Realizing now that they were alone, that's when Minjeong poured all the questions she had kept in her mind until now.

"Father," Minjeong's low voice piques the man's interest. "I know business trips are normal, but why is yours going on for months? A month — That's normal. But yours is always more than two months. What are you even doing out there? Does our company was that busy?" Minjeong lifted one of her eyebrows, stabbing her fork into one of the dumplings.

The older man flashed his usual smile, "Things sometimes get complicated with the company. You don't need to know about that. It is not your time yet, Minjeong," he replied shortly, only making Minjeong glare at him with a click of her tongue before she bluntly said.

"You know what? You are kind of suspicious."

The older man glared at his daughter in confusion. "Suspicious of what?"

Minjeong didn't say anything after that, keeping her silence as she put the dumpling into her mouth, staring into her father's eyes for a couple of seconds before she pulled away. "Nevermind."

"By the way, by the time you signed the adoption paper of Jimin, didn't they supposed to state who her parents are?" another curiosity spikes Minjeong more. Instead, her father shakes his head gently.

"I did sign the papers but they didn't state anything about her parents. I have no clue who are they, really."

"Really? I thought they should let the adopter know about the child's parents. So, they didn't let you know about it? Or is it maybe it wasn't like that at that time? I guess times changed?" Minjeong put a spoonful of spaghetti into her mouth.

"Maybe," he answered simply.

After she took the fifth bite of her spaghetti, Minjeong realized that her wife had been gone for a bit longer than she should have. Twenty minutes for toilet? "I'm going to look out for my wife. You can stay here, I'll be back," she said as she stood up from her chair, leaving Mr Kim there, alone at their table.

*****

Minjeong didn't really know which restroom her wife used since the airport had plenty of them, so she just headed toward the nearest one, and by surprise, no one was there, all the stalls were unoccupied. But what is more surprising is that Jimin's phone was on the kitchen sink, screen facing down.

Minjeong fell into deep confusion as she took the phone, but when she flipped it, the screen facing her, Minjeong wouldn't lie that her heart stopped beating at that moment.

"No... No way... This ain't happening..."

Suddenly Sungjoon's words from one month ago came out hitting  Minjeong's head like a truck. There's no way what he said was real! There's no way what that bastard said was real!

Her heartbeat became rapid in seconds. Her eyes went frantic as she ran out of the restroom like a madman, shouting her wife's name like a screeching, gaining the attention of everyone at the airport.

"Jimin!!! Yu Jimin!!!!"

Minjeong didn't even stop the tears from coming out of her eyes. She became so worried and terrified, worried if Sungjoon words granted like a cursed wish. Jimin's phone is in her hand as she looks everywhere for her wife. Sadly, there's no sign of her wife anywhere.

Hell. Did her stomach start to bleed again? Minjeong felt great pain from them, her injuries weren't fully healed despite the removed stitches. She grasped the skin on her stomach painfully, still screaming out her wife's name, before she was approached by people asking her things.

"My wife has been kidnapped! Please! Just— Please! I need to find her!"

"Ma'am, you need to calm down! Tell me where was the last time you saw her?"

"I don't know!" is the only thing Minjeong could shout back between her tears because she really didn't know. Jimin was out of her sight. She promised to take care of her wife better, but she didn't. The unspoken words she never spoke filled up her heart, almost feeling like it could burst at any moment.

Minjeong loves that woman.

Minjeong loves her wife.

Minjeong loves Jimin.

"Please!"

The moment Minjeong came back to her old man who was having his tea peacefully at their table, Mr Kim was greeted by the view of her terrified daughter. Messy mascara, red eyes, still crying. Jimin's phone is in her hand, while the other hand clutching her slightly bleeding stomach.

"Jimin disappeared."

"What?" Mr Kim asked in deep confusion before Minjeong's voice started to hitch even worse. "Someone kidnapped her!" her expression displays how hurt it is for her.

"How can you be so sure? Did someone see she got taken away—"

"I just knew! I just knew that someone had kidnapped her, father! I knew!"

*****

The moment Jimin slowly opened her eyes, she could feel the stinging pain in her head. Her eyes were hazy, her body was so weak that she couldn't move an inch.

Trying to grasp the situation clearly, Jimin opened her eyes widely, scanning the room even more. She was now on an empty bed, and as she roamed her eyes again only to guessed that she was in a sort of bedroom. She was thankful enough that her hands and legs were totally free, they weren't tied up.

"Where am I..." the words Jimin want to say but strangely unheard. Sooner she realized, something was definitely wrong with her body.

She can't move, or even speak. It was like she was left on the bed in a coma state, with her eyes wide open but no actions could be made. Jimin needs to grasp the heavy facts that her abductors might have drugged her with some sort of paralyzing formula to make her unable to move or to run away.

The memories from where she was swept away by three men inside the women's restroom hit her, and Jimin couldn't stop the tears from her eyes falling. She was so useless and fragile with her own body at the moment. She was so frustrated that she couldn't do anything at all. It was like she was living in a horror movie.

Her mind then shifted towards her wife. She remembered how Minjeong hadn't fully recovered yet from her injury, Jimin couldn't let the idea of leaving Minjeong alone get her. Her wife needs her, and she needs Minjeong too. Minjeong couldn't even sit properly yet, how would she live when Jimin was not around?

Jimin didn't even realize that she started to cry heavily. Her numb body makes her not feel much, and Jimin is literally like a living corpse in hell at the moment. The tears were the only thing she could do to express her current state — terrified and frustrated.

Her cries were unheard. No one was there to save her. Jimin roamed her eyes to the big window next to her, looking up at the night sky, realizing she might been missing for hours already. Minjeong would be worried for her, and just thinking about how messed up everything was overwhelmed Jimin even more.

But, all she could do was cry.

Being the pet to her captor. An alive corps for whatever they wanna do to her later.

The frustration could only be released by tears falling down her cheek.

Hell, not even a sound she could make. How strong actually is the drug they gave her?

Her feelings were all mixed up like a messed-up tornado, and despite everything that made her feel unbelievably anxious, the only she could do was cry.

Just... crying.

Help me.

She is extremely vulnerable.
