Steven held Rose for quite a long time before he let go. "Emma, I really don't want to go and leave my mom..." He said. Emma walked up to Steven and put her hands on his shoulders. "Steven, listen, if you want your mom to come with, you will need to become full human, is that clear?"

"If it means I can be with mom...then I'm fine with it."

"Okay..." Emma replied, walking up to the heart. "We need to fix this first."

"Here...I got this..." Rose said. She got in front of the heart and held out her arms, as if she was going to give it a hug. A faint glow surrounded her body as she mumbled something under her breath. The world around them seemed to shake as everything started to fade away, and all sounds were muted out.

Steven slowly opened his eyes only to find himself on the couch with the gems and Greg looking at him. He held in head, trying to get his vision to focus. He felt a bit...different.

"Hey, Steven, welcome back." Emma said nervously.

He mumbled things that weren't even words while continuing to hold him head. "Steven....are you alright? Emma told us you'd be...different." Pearl said.

"Hey, Steven...look behind you." A soft voice said from behind him. Every one of the gems looked up at who said that and gasped. What they were seeing was pretty much impossible. Emma slid between where the gems and Greg were standing and put one hand on Greg, and the other on Garnet, as they were standing on the outside of everyone else.

"I told you guys this would be a happy ending." She whispered, startling Greg.

Steven looked up and saw his mother, standing there. His eyes turned to stars and jerked back. "Wait...how is this even possible?" Amethyst asked.

"Guys, when I said Steven was gonna be different, I meant he was going to be human." She said. "And you know, it's probably for the best because I mean, everyone is happy, you guys are happy, Steven is happy, even I'm happy!"

Steven lifted up his shirt only to see his gem was gone. He looked up at his mom and jumped into her arms laughing. Rose chuckled as Steven climbed onto her shoulder, making everyone laugh.

This honestly was a happy ending, the happiest ending anyone could ask for. Everyone was happy, Rose was back, Steven is alive and just human, and Emma....

Is not dead inside anymore.
