Rose and Emma were walking toward the heart of the gem. "So, where is it again?" Emma asked, trying not to sound like a broken record. "It's not too far ahead now, Emma." Rose replied. "We just need to keep going in this direction."

"Okay, just curious."

A strange thought entered her head, it was a question that she needed to ask. "Hey, Rose?" She put her head down as she spoke. "I'm just curious...if you're here, then does that mean Steven is here, too?"

Rose went silent and thought about it for a moment. "Actually, yes, he is here." She said. "But the thing is, he's hiding himself."

"Does he know you're here?"

"No, he doesn't, but I've decided that it might be best to leave him be, besides, he deserves a rest after everything he's been through."

"Oh...well...I hope that whenever the gem is fixed...that maybe...both of you guys can come out...?"

Rose looked at Emma and sighed. "I doubt that, Emma. It's either me or Steven, we can't both exist at the same time."

"But does Steven need his gem?"

Rose looked down at Emma. "Huh? What do you mean?"

"If Steven is able to be here, it's quite clear he can survive without his gem...so maybe, both of you can come out, with Steven being full human?"

Rose went silent. "I've...never thought about that..."

Emma chuckled lightly. "To be honest, I'm surprised."

"You are really intelligent, Emma."

"Heh, I am called the smart one quite a lot..."

Suddenly, there was a low growl from behind. Both of them turned around and saw what appeared to be a corrupted gem. It had four long, spiderlike legs with bring pink fur, and two small arms coming out from its chest. Pink scales covered its entire body, giving it a shiny look.

It had four large, black eyes and fangs. It almost looked like the corrupted gem that Jasper fused with that he time.

"Oh no..." Rose mumbled. "This isn't good..."
