Chapter 23
Lorraine was going to kill someone.
While she was hospitalised, she had not gotten the time to check up on social media.
But now, that she had been discharged, and preparing to go to Korea because the headass had fucking ordered her – the audacity of the man – But she was still going. And she refused to acknowledge the fact that she was going because she didn't want Jimin to lose his career over a goddamn kissing scandal.
Kissing scandals were minor for her, not for BTS. They tend to keep their personal live private, causing some less than animal fans to sniff their way into it.
So it was pretty absurd to start with that the legendary BTS got disbanded because of a kissing scandal. For fucks sake, people acted as if Jimin wasn't an actual person, and couldn't kiss a fellow being. Hell they even acted as if he didn't take a shit.
Call her old fashioned because most of her friends in the industry were in their mid fifties and were not on social media, but she refused to let a fucking blue bird ruin her entire career.
So when the entire internet was flooding with texts like, 'Lorraine seduced our precious, innocent Jiminie' all she wanted to do was bust up someone's head.
Your innocent fucking Jiminie quite loves the idea of power play, threesome, and angry sex.
Just because they had never imagined Lorraine and Jimin together like they shipped them with his fellow K-pop idols, didn't mean she had to seduce her way into...into exactly what?!
She wasn't more famous than Jimin, she'd admit. But her net worth was more than him, she had an Oscar into her fucking hands, to what benefits were people even claiming that she seduced him.
The comments were frustrating not because she felt insecure of herself, but because they were ruining her career. It wouldn't be long before their speculations would turn even nastier, and they will boycott her and spread it among everyone to not watch her movies anymore and stuff like that.
Still, she was going.
The VISA had been arranged... discreetly.
Now she had to head out of her house to go to the airport, she inhaled deeply, preparing herself for the ocean of reporters and criticizers waiting outside to chew her up.
She debated again, opening her phone to see Jimin's message, telling his flight had taken off.
He had offered - more like ordered her again - that if she'd go in his private plane and she had very not kindly refused saying she had her own private fucking plane.
Remarkably, Lorraine's plane would be taking off right after Jimin's, so she really had to go out of her house.
She gulped and started walking outside, cursing at the fact that Antoinette had some personal issues to resolve just at these couple of days. She had to manage everything on her own.
A cherry on the cake.
As soon as she opened the gates of her house, the distant chatter that was coming from outside became much, much louder in direct contact as they started throwing themselves over the border that had been created by the guards.
She inhaled shakily, moving to the parking lot where the car was waiting already, thankful she didn't have to face the reporters and the fans or haters just yet.
They reached the airport after an hour or so, Lorraine's car was surrounded by two more cars filled with guards, each of them moving right in front of her and right behind her.
She had never needed such extreme security before.
When she reached at the airport, she had an instant nausea, wanting to puke badly by seeing so many people waiting and running towards her car. Her guards surrounded her as she got out, blocking away all the people.
The path from outside of the airport to just inside had never felt so long before.
She didn't know how it happened when a person succeeded in breaking through the circle her guards had created around her and pick her up from behind, her instinct kicking in and causing her to shout while elbowing the person.
Her guards were quick to get him off of her but it was his sentence that just got under her skin.
"You fucked Park Jimin!–"
"–And give me a chance I'll do it again!" Her reply was so instant, it startled the people around her, but she was just so infuriated with everything that she didn't give two flying fucks.
The person started running away but some of the guards were quick to follow him, as she entered the airport, her guard asked,
"Ma'am, are you okay?"
"No, can you get that person to me, please?" She snarled, showing her passport to the guard as he let her in.
She didn't check in because it was her private jet, sitting comfortably in it and ready to take of unwillingly, to Korea.
*
It was a thirteen hours flight of utter boredom when she finally reached Seoul, she had never been here before. She was anxious because she didn't quite know the reaction of South Korea over all of the fuss.
When she got out of the airport, unsurprisingly so, there were reporters standing there, waiting for her and...
Oh god.
There was another crowd of reporters circling someone else. She knew telling Jimin her destination time was a bad idea.
He had come to pick her up.
Great.
Now, it would be pretty rude if she just ignored him in public and sat in her own car (which had been shipped here all the way from Korea because who knew something like renting a car anyway when you have the money to ship one).
She went towards him, holding an expression of indifference towards everything, her guards making the way for her as she reached Jimin, who was also circled by a ton of guards, he must have landed just a couple of hours ago as well.
He was wearing a casual T-Shirt with some black skinny jeans and sunglasses, leaning over his car and tapping his iconic combat boots. He was dressed in full black, topping it off with a leather jacket.
As their eyes contacted, sort of through the sunglasses, he pushed himself off of the car door, moving towards the driver's seat.
Lorraine just stood there dumbfounded before one of the guards opened the door for her, she rolled her eyes and sat in with a huff.
"Where the hell–"
"Company building." He grunted without even letting finish her question. "My CEO wants to discuss something."
More like everything.
The ride was silent, not achingly because both of their egoistic selves chose not to talk with each other.
An hour of car ride where she felt like throwing up because of the exhaustion of a 13 hours flight and sitting straight into a car, they reached a huge building named Hybe labels.
Jimin parked into the basement lot, not looking at her when he opened the door of her side and led her towards the elevator.
It was the twentieth floor when the lift finally stopped and Lorraine could breathe.
Now she was sitting in front of a room whose door was closed and she was kindly told to sit here for a moment until she was called– the disrespect. If they wanted her to wait, she could've waited in her hotel room.
From inside the office of Jimin's CEO Bang si-Hyuk, she couldn't understand what they were speaking but she was sure that someone was cursing and yelling.
*
"I didn't expect you to behave in such away, Park Jimin. Dating issues can be pressed, but snogging an Oscar winner in an award show, knowing you're in public is not what people will digest." He panted. "You know you put your band's reputation at stake too, don't you?"
The guilt was going to eat Jimin up now. He had taken his members down with him, yet he acted like a fucking newbie.
"I apologize, PD nim." That's all he could whisper out. "Maybe I should– I should leave the band, it will be for everyone's best–"
Bang PD groaned at his statement, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.
"I'm not telling you to leave the band. This was just very immature of you, Jimin."
"I'm sorry, I–"
"I don't want an excuse, nor a reason. It's happened. But I never heard you ever mentioning her, why? Did she...did she force you–"
"No! It was me who initiated it at the award show, we met at the Oscars after party we're...friends."
"What it is Jimin, it has ruined something. You have no idea how the fans are raging, if she were a normal girl, I don't know how she would have survived this. But because she's Lorraine Acker, you're the one you should be saving, not her. Nothing is gonna happen to her, Jimin while your entire career will just flood away from you. You hear me, nothing. She has an Oscar–"
"That's besides the point, PD nim, they give an Oscar for their work. Not for their personal lives, and I think we should respect that."
Jimin was blabbering now, scared how it will end. Either he'll be leaving the band or leaving Lorraine, and he wanted none of it. Perhaps Bang PD noticed that for his eyes softened slightly.
"I'm not trying to separate you two, Jimin. I get young love. You're into her, it just wasn't wise to–"
"I got it." Jimin whispered, have heard the same sentence ten times now.
"Okay. Your fans need answers, alright? To be honest, we all do. So what's the relationship between the tow of you?"
"I don't know."
"Jimin, I can't help if you give answers like that."
"I'm sorry, PD nim, but how am I supposed to give this answer by myself?"
Jimin was sure Bang PD's next question would be 'so you haven't discussed your relationship yet?' because the question was written all over his face. Then Bang PD closed his mouth and just nodded, having assumed the answer to that question a yes.
He picked up the phone on his table and pressed it to his ear.
"Send her in... respectfully."
Within a few seconds, the door of the office was opening by a guard and Lorraine was setting foot inside of it, Jimin turned his head to analyse her once, relish, then remind himself he had to stay mad and looked at his front again.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, uh..."
"Lorraine." She answered, reaching her hand forward to shake his.
"Right, Lorraine. I'm Bang PD."
"Glad, Mr. PD."
"Have a seat."
She took a seat beside Jimin.
"Well, for this scandal, we've decided to pass an announcement clarifying everything that includes false assumptions like you..."
"Forced him." She completed the sentence.
"Yes, okay, we'll also clarify that he t was major accident and that both of you were in a private space which the reporters invaded. Everything will be cleared but the question arises, what is the relationship between the two of you?"
"I don't know." Lorraine said truthfully, being done with all the confusions. It had to come out, and she was tired of the drama that should have taken place to name Jimin and her relationship.
"That's what he said." Bang PD pointed his chin at Jimin.
"It's indeed the truth then." She shrugged, maybe the both of them got her nonchalant behaviour that she felt the need to explain herself.
"The thing is, Mr. PD, I don't care about whatever rules and regulations you have in the industry because they don't imply on me. Situations like kissing someone drunkenly is taken lightly where I work, we do it for fun. So I can't handle it when someone is losing his job for an absurd kissing scandal. That too, when I read his choice and initiation."
"I understand what you're saying, Lorraine, but I still need to answer the question of what exactly is going on between the two of you."
She pushed her hair back in frustration. If she asked herself what Jimin was to her, her answers were the following:
Trigger point, angry sex, fuck buddy, sneak out partner.
And she could give none of them to Bang PD.
"Can we just...just give us time, we'll talk it over."
She heard Jimin scoff at the word talk and shot a glare at him.
"Just don't regret it. Whatever decision you make."
