Chapter 16

Lorraine...

The name itself rolls off the tongue as if of a goddess. The name itself is so elegantly sophisticated that you imagine the person to be that too. Charming, enticing, alluring and one of the people who know how to have their way. And so was Lorraine Acker.

But you never expect them to use it against others. That's entirely wicked. But what if someone loses control of their own actions?

For Lorraine shoved Jimin away once again.

She shut her door on his face, making him feel horrible from inside. It was incredible how nicely Lorraine knew how to make people throw off their dignity.

For Jimin threw it away for her, again.

It was some mere minutes ago that she was looking so exquisite under him, sharing intimacy and driving Jimin to the edge of Euphoria.

And the next second, she was freaking out as if Jimin did something horrible to her. And it made him feel sick from inside at the thought of Lorraine thinking something bad about him. It made him question whether he really did something wrong.

You're scaring me.

Her voice resonated in his head like a broken record. He was questioning to himself whether he was really that horrible. Why would she act that scared if not otherwise?

It was the worst feeling in the world, letting someone step on you.

A tear dropped from his eye as he rested his forehead on the same door Lorraine has closed shut on his face. He knew he couldn't stay any longer here or he'll lose whatever self-respect he had left within.

He didn't deserve Lorraine.

He had worked hard for where he stood today, among all the people who loved and respected him. He wouldn't crumble because someone decided to play.

What he didn't know was Lorraine was curled up in a ball at the corner of the room, shaking and pulling out her hair, crying her balls out of fear. Feeling as if it was the end of her, looking for someone's warmth. Her mind having a storm in which a girl was shouting for help, to save her before it was too late.

Someone, anyone.

Little did she know that no one ever came to protect her, nor someone ever would. Each time she was in danger, someone she had put her trust in... Left and betrayed, letting her crash into a million pieces.

It was ironic how she was afraid to love and yet sought love when at threat, and right she sought it more than anything, her breathing fast and ragged, her cheeks brimming with tears as she just yearned for someone to comfort her and tell her, just tell her that no monster was behind her,

It had taken her ten years to pick herself up again and become what she was today...and it all fell down the moment a maid knocked on the door and told her that Jimin left.

He left...he betrayed.

How could he?

It was all crashing down in front of her eyes, because of Jimin. She hadn't felt this broken in a long while. He had left her in the most vulnerable state someone ever could.

For he had no idea of what kind of fear she was dealing with, all alone. This kind of fear wasn't from a normal experience.

Why? Why me?

Why did it have to happen to her? The haunting memory wasn't letting her move forward, pulling her back. She knew this memory couldn't be forgotten. And now she had lost another person because of that.

All because of that bastard.

Her skin was hot and clammy but cold sweat was brewing on her body as she lay there, shaking and crying, having occasional panic attacks.

*

The days passed, making Lorraine a mess every passing one. It happened. It snapped. He left.

There were no messages, no phone calls, nothing from him. It was clear he didn't want to talk to her. Who would, seriously? She was a freak show. Her own created darkness. Not taking meds was her choice but she really thought Jimin would cure her. She genuinely liked him.

She had locked herself in her room, eyes rashed, mascara messed around her eyes, hair wild and shabby. High on drugs.

What she was doing was, rather than fixing herself, she was fixing her movie character. Lorraine's room was a mess, torn pages lying everywhere because she had been jotting down notes and notes of her movie characters personality. Then at one point, she'd lose all the things to numb herself with and then start crying, or taking drugs, or smoking.

It sucked. It was pathetic.

The thing about Jimin was... He wasn't just one character. He was the first person she had seen as a whole. He could be the classy millionaire or he could run around in front of a motel with you and then roll into the road while laughing.

He also brought the whole in Lorraine. Before Jimin, she had never shown this personality to anyone. This wild girl who can eat gummy worms with you while sitting on a plastic chair.

Now she couldn't help but blame him for her acting too. That she lost the track of her character, and she could be fired now.

*

Closing his eyes, Jimin tried to block everything away, trying to feel the music and let it run through him.

Numbing his senses, he furrowed his eyebrows in concentration, with a languid buzz of the drop beat, he started to dance.

When nothing made sense, this did. Elegantly moving his arms above him as he arched his back slightly, craning his neck to the background numbing tune of the song as he halted his entire body at a particularly evident beat before moving gracefully again.

Nothing mattered anymore, this did. Even if it meant overworking and starving himself. This was all that mattered.

He was totally indulged in the music now, body not needing an effort to move, knowing the flow way too expertly.

Everything was fine.

Well at least before someone decided to turn off the music.

His eyes shot open and he spun around to see who the fuck just destroyed his moment with himself.

"Why the fuck would you do that?!" He rasped once seeing it was Taehyung who turned off the speakers.

"It's 2 in the morning."

Jimin narrowed his gaze, now that Taehyung mentioned it, his eyes were itchy.

"Yeah, so?" He asked half-heartedly.

"So, I thought you'd want to sleep at this time like a normal human being."

Jimin just rolled his eyes, going towards the bench to pick up his water bottle and drinking from it.

"Jimin, can we talk?" Taehyung said after a moment when Jimin finished drinking. He was leaning his shoulder on the wall, his arms crossed across his chest as he gazed at Jimin.

"No, Taehyung, can we talk?" Jimin mocked the taller with the same tone of voice. "Why would you say that to Yoongi Hyung? On what drugs were you?!"

"I-it doesn't matter," Taehyung answered, averting his gaze somewhere else in nervousness. That was the last straw for Jimin, he threw the bottle somewhere across the practice room, causing it to crash with a loud bang and wet the floor as it broke and started leaking.

Taehyung almost jumped back but ended up making a small squeak.

"You're going to give me that shit?!" Jimin shouted. "I was scared to death when Yoongi Hyung mentioned leaving the group, and I get this! Not a proper explanation, but this! Makes me contemplate if I should leave the group!"

"Okay! Okay, I'm telling you!" Taehyung finally gave in, breathing in a few times to calm himself before speaking. "I kissed him."

"What the shit." Jimin's reply was instant, a part of his angry and savage behaviour.

Taehyung stared at Jimin for a while.

"Are you homophobic?"

"I'm pretty sure I've fucked a man before."

"Right, sorry. Forgot."

"Continue." Jimin pointed, giving Taehyung a stern look.

"Yeah, I kissed him. He didn't react in a good way, he started ignoring me. It hurt because he's Yoongi Hyung..."

"And you insulted him in front of at least fifteen people to get his attention."

"Well– it isn't– okay, yeah. And I apologized, and we're good."

"When and where did you two end up sucking faces? I need my details."

Taehyung groaned. "At midnight in the kitchen. Everyone was sleeping, we just coincidentally wanted to have some water. I kissed him and he pushed me."

I kissed him and he pushed me.

Sounds familiar. Except for Yoongi isn't crazy. Stupid, lazy, always bullying Jimin. But not crazy. And even if he is crazy, Taehyung sure doesn't get himself off on his craziness.

Wow, Jimin was so fucked up.

Taehyung rubbed his temples.

"Look, he's not gay, or bi. We cleared up, so don't do something stupid like teasing him or something."

"You still have feelings for him?" Jimin asked.

"They don't disappear overnight."

Jimin just nodded, taking off his damp-in-sweat shirt and changing into another.

"You took it in quite nicely," Taehyung commented. "I imagined quite a reaction out of the situation."

Jimin just rolled his eyes at that, not really caring until everything was fine and no one was leaving the team and nothing had changed. He was just simply petty and bitter right now. And he was glad he was just that.

"Do you wanna grab a drink at the twenty-four hours open bar?" He asked Taehyung, wearing his hoodie in the process.

"But you haven't eaten anything!" The taller man argued.

Jimin huffed, turning to fully face Taehyung.

"Listen, I was being kind asking you out on a drink. If you don't wanna, I'll go by myself you can gladly fuck off."

"Well, no one would, if you talk like this!"

Jimin just sighed and stayed silent for a while, blankly looking at Taehyung. Great.

"Then go home. And don't accuse me of not giving you 'emotional support' during times of distress. You refused to go and grab a drink."

"I was just..." Taehyung took in a moment to believe that Jimin was literally being like this, why? Was that because he didn't tell him before? "I was just telling you to eat something."

He analyzed as Jimin facial expressions got somewhat softer before he clenched his jaw and looked away from Taehyung.

"I'll eat." He said curtly before passing by Taehyung and soon enough, leaving the building.
