Snow - Chasing Amy
Here I am, happily playing about in the snow – I can call the pure white of the walls, ceiling, floor and uniforms in here snow, right? – when some dudette throws a snowball right in my face. OK, so she doesn't because there isn't really any, but let's not split hairs. Or hares, if you're my old granddad. Anywho. Let's get her out here to say hi!
What's your name?
Amy Moore
Hi Amy. It's a pleasure. Well, when I say 'pleasure'... Only joking. Honest. Where are you from?
Light Shine Records
A record company? Cool. I love music. Of course, we have MTV piped in permanently so you'd think I'd want to bash my own brains in – but then, that'd mean I'd have to have some in the first place. Do you like living there? If not, where would your favourite place to live be? Is yes, where would you least like to live?
Although I don't live there, it feels like I do with all the time and effort I put into the band I manage, Chasing Jupiter. And to be honest, even though those boys drive me crazy, there's no place I'd rather be.
Chasing Jupiter? Are you their big red spot? A storm permanently raging through them to keep 'em motivated? What do you do for a living, and is it your dream job?
I'm a band manager for the platinum-selling, two-time Grammy nominated band, Chasing Jupiter. You've probably heard of them. And I was there for the creation process, hand-selected the boys myself, so I couldn't imagine being anywhere else.
I certainly have heard of them. Hard not to when MTV keeps featuring their latest track. It's almost permanently on. And yes, I'm aware I've said 'permanently' three times – now four – in this interview. I make no apologies for repetition. I make no apologies for repetition. How do you feel about bacon? A crazy person once said it was the food of the gods. OK, I admit that person was myself...
I absolutely love bacon. It's part of the reason I get up in the morning. That and coffee.
Hmmm... I wonder how you feel about coffee flavoured bacon> Or bacon flavoured coffee? Maybe we should stick with bacon flavoured bacon. And, what's not to love? So,what is your favourite film?
I don't know if I have one honestly. But I can tell you a little secret. Brandon Williams, lead singer of Chasing Jupiter? He loves Audrey Hepburn movies, knows them all by heart.
Cool! She was amazing. And beautiful. I approve! What's your opinion of log cabins?
Staying in one log cabin with four divas is far from my dream reality. So my opinion of log cabins is pretty low right now.
Well, you chose that reality! But, if they're divas, let's introduce them to Mucus Mickey. He'll soon have them quietened down. He's snot very funny though... And snow?
I actually love the snow, so long as there isn't an overwhelming amount. Just enough to build snowmen and have snowball fights.
Are you one of those who wrap a rock in snow and then throw it? Nah, I can't imagine you are. I bet the band would have fun doing that to each other though. Especially in a remote log cabin! If you were in an asylum, what would your particular delusion or psychosis be?
Hallucinations, maybe then Chasing Jupiter would be a marketable band.
What if they already are an hallucination and you're dreaming it all? Would you want to wake up? What sort of books do you like to read, or do you think there's no point when you can just watch the movie?
I hardly have time to read with these boys, but I do enjoy a good Romance novel whenever I get the chance. I usually just end up watching the movie though.
I've known a few people who have said 'why read the book when you can watch the film.' It's one of the reasons my own story took so long to get written. I wonder if you like romance because the boys don't give you time for your own? But, more importantly, bacon – just cooked or crispy?
Crispy.
Good answer! Now you've passed the test, I'll let you tell us about your adventures in the Snow anthology!
I'm taking my four boys, Brandon, Felix, Andrew, and Logan, and staying with them in an isolated cabin for two weeks. No cell phones, no wifi, just us. And hopefully this helps repair the band's relationship and prove to Light Shine Records that they deserve to keep their contract. Otherwise we're all out of a job.
No wifi? Sorry, I didn't mean to pick that out as the worst case. I meant no jobs? Then you won't be able to afford wifi! It sounds serious! Now you're in the asylum with me, how do you aim to get out? Do you have an escape plan?
My escape plan is to rely on my boys. At the end of the day, I know they always have my back.
That's good to know. In the end, they're good boys who watch out for you. I look forward to finding out more in the Snow Anthology!
