1) "Name?"

Louise but I go by Lou here on Wattpad.

2) "Age?"

I’m 20, I’ll be 21 next February.

3)" What are your hobbies?"

Other then writing and reading, I love makeup, I like watching tutorials and product reviews. I am obsessed with sport, I’ve currently been watching Wimbledon and the Cricket World Cup. I also play and umpire Netball.

4) "When did you start writing and why?"

I’ve always enjoyed writing but never thought I was good enough. I only ever wrote pieces at school. In primary school we always had to do reflection writing on a book we had read, I would always add pieces on and make up stuff as I would go along, some of these reflections would be 13 pages long compared to most other people within the class that had 3 or 4 pages. I got slammed by my teacher in Year 12 (Senior Year) and that put me down, I had always wanted to write her on Wattpad but this didn’t help my confidence. Finally last year I took a dive and never looked back, so a long way to answer your question is that I’ve always enjoyed writing, it’s that my confidence was never up.

5) "Which was your first story generally?"

I remember that I wrote this story in Grade Prep (aka Year 1/Grade 1 most places, I think) I was five or six. I remember we wrote it in partners, it was about a unicorn that had escaped captivity and had run away. I think it was pretty damn good for kids that age. I wish I still had it, I thought I did but I couldn’t find it. It was like two pages long.

6) "Do you write in some other website except Wattpad?"

No I don’t use any other websites, I’m currently saving Incriminate into a PDF, in a version that is gonna be edited, so I only really use Google Docs.

7) "What has given you motive to keep on writing?"

I love my readers especially those that continuously read Incriminate with each chapter that was posted, my other motivation was that I loved writing the story, I love writing about those characters and that’s what kept me going. Talking to people helped. I talk to @scene-d-amour a lot and it always seems to help me out of that faze where I don’t seem motivated.

8 )"Have you ever wanted to give up everything? (writing I mean)"

Not really, writing at school was different to here. I never felt like I wanted to give up on Incriminate but yes in classes sometimes with my writing I wanted to give up. It was hard getting 50-60% on every essay but I got through it and here I am.

9) "Which is your favorite story on Wattpad?"

Definitely ‘6 Man’ by @macklemcvey

10) "Have you gained any friendship from Wattpad? If yes, which are your Wattpad friends?"

Yes, I have. They are @scene-de-amour, @julie_sx, @heskindaharry and @lipsthatlied, @stylisticmoods and @teamcurlytop

11) "Do you relate with any of your characters from your books? If yes, which one and which characteristics are similar?"

I think I have a little bit of Olive and Martha (from Inferno). I relate to Olive more because she is similar to me in so many ways. Her parents are very, very different to mine though. Her personality used was like me because I didn’t really know how to write a character so different from myself. I relate to Martha in a bit of a way due to her attitude, I can be like her when I feel like it. If people hate me then I’m gonna be so savage back.

12) "What did you study /are you studying/do you want to study?"

I finished high school in 2017, I then went and did a small course to get me into a job in education and I absolutely love it, this is my full time job, five days a week. I also have another job at a fast food store just to bring in the extra cash. I am looking at studying online and do teaching, I think being a teacher would be amazing and you get to seek the rewards, I’m looking at doing this in two years time.

13)" Describe yourself in 3 words."

Hard working, caring and organised

14) "What do you advise new writers?"

You just need to go for it, have a go. I took the jump and honestly I’d never look back. I got some advice off some of my Wattpad friends and they supported me through my first story in Incriminate.

15)" Questions based on ' Incriminate ' :  How were you inspired to write this story?"

I have three convicts in my family, all on my mother’s side, I began thinking of convicts and how some of them must have been wrongly accused. Incriminate (verb; make someone appear guilty of a crime or wrongdoing). I had been to all the places mentioned with this story and I wanted to include post settlement Australia as no one had really talked about Australia’s history in fanfiction and there may be more to come. I sort of just made up the rest as I wrote, all those cliffhangers I threw in were because I felt like it, luckily it worked out.

16)" Who's your favourite character in the book and why? "

I loved Harry! He had such a harsh background, I can’t give much away because I don’t want to spoil the story for others but he had such a sad story and for everything to go wrong in his life and for him to come out well, I was utterly happy for him.

17)"If you were asked to publish your book , would you do it?"

Probably, I mean I want to edit it and make small changes, it could have been written a lot better but if someone came to me and asked, them sure. It’ll take some time to make it perfect but I’d be so happy and grateful if it were to be published.

18)"Which is your favourite a)  funny,  b) dramatic,  c) romantic, d) sad scene in the book?"

My favourite scene had to be where Harry and Eliza were caught. I know it gory and all but honestly I am still proud of that scene. I think it will stick with me forever.

19) " A phrase or a scene that you write and you'll never forget.(and why)"

The same scene as above. The sadness of it sticks with me even to this day! It was written almost a year ago and it continues to make me sad and I think it’s the best chapter I’ve written to date.

20) " How much time did it take to plan the whole plot?"

I’m sad to say it but I didn’t plan any of it. I had no clue how and where it was going to go. I wrote each chapter as it came. I had the idea of Harry and what had happened to him prior to meeting Olive but I never had a bigger outline then that. I had ideas here and there but I never followed through with them. Harry was actually supposed to murder Ruth but I choose against that.

21)" How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?"

I don’t have any unfinished or half written, I’m currently writing each story as it comes. I have ideas and titles for stories that are upcoming yet I don’t have anymore then that.

22) " What do you suggest to people that want to write about a different era and place? What difficulties are the gonna face? What should they be careful of?"

Use photos, fashion and lots of research, those type of things really made me write that particular time period. I also suggest trying not to skim over things like inequality and racism because those things happened and will be mentioned in my new book ‘Inferno’

23) "What's the hardest part of being an author in our days?"

It’s getting the break though, getting readers. This month I’ve gained so many readers and I’m grateful. You just need to be patient and not give up on yourself.

24) "Any spoilers for future plans?"

I have more historical pieces on the way about events such as pilgrims in America, the first fleet to Australia, the Salem Witch Trials and the American and Russian Revolutions.

25) " Choose- 'challenge' two writers that you want to know about to do this interview like you."

Two writers? @stylesreads and delousional .

CRITICAL QUESTIONS

1) "What is the funniest joke you know by heart?"

Why did the manager hire the marsupial?

because it was koala-fied. (get it!)

2) "In 40 years, what will people be nostalgic for?"

I think the music, I think it’ll change a lot. I don’t really like a lot of pop these days as it has change even from what it was five years ago, it’ll be the same with films there are lots of horror and action films compared to ten years ago etc.

Thank you so much reviewsbylou!!❤❤

All the love,
M.
