@_miiki
1) "Name?"
You can call me Miki.
2) "Age?"
19.
3)" What are your hobbies?"
Writing and listening to music, mostly. Reading and drawing sometimes too.
4) "When did you start writing and why?"
I’ve been writing my whole life. I’ve always had a lot of imagination and I used to like reading a lot, so it seemed a quite natural progression to start writing stories.
5) "Which was your first story generally?"
I wrote my first “long” story when I was 8 or 9, I think. It was a fantasy and it was about 6 pages long.
6) "Do you write in some other website except Wattpad?"
I don't.
7) "What has given you motive to keep on writing?"
The people that read my stories, mostly. They’re absolutely amazing and motivate me to keep writing and improve every single day. I would’ve never got this far without them and I’ll be eternally grateful for their support, that allows me to keep doing what I love.
8 )"Have you ever wanted to give up everything? (writing I mean)"
I’ve given up writing in the past, but I like to think that I’m here to stay this time.
9) "Which is your favorite story on Wattpad?"
I don’t read that much on Wattpad anymore, unfortunately. My all time favourites are Phantom and Hidden though, originally by seasidestyles.
10) "Have you gained any friendship from Wattpad? If yes, which are your Wattpad friends?"
Unfortunately, I haven’t.
11) "Do you relate with any of your characters from your books? If yes, which one and which characteristics are similar?"
Every single one of the main characters of my books shares something with me, mostly because they all come from my imagination, but none of them is directly based on me. I relate to the way Sierra (Artwork) perceives art and her artworks - up to a certain point, as I always tend to go a bit further when writing, to Harry’s sarcasm in Facade - same thing as before - and to how caring Grace (Redemption) is mostly. But there are other similarities, maybe some so small that not even I would recognise them.
12) "What did you study /are you studying/do you want to study?"
I studied information technology engineering in my first year of university but I didn’t particularly like it, so I’m about to change major. I’d like to study something that relates to writing more, as it’s my favourite thing to do.
13)" Describe yourself in 3 words."
I’m not that good at describing myself at all so I asked my best friend to do it instead, as she’s probably the person that knows me best. “Talented, funny, caring.” Thank you, S.
14) "What do you advise new writers?"
Never give up. It might be hard at first, but determination is the most important thing when it comes to writing. If you don’t think you’re good enough, don’t let it discourage you. Good writing comes with exercise, and the more you’ll write, the more you’ll improve. You can do amazing things, just keep believing in yourself and your stories.
15)" Questions based on ' Artwork / Aquarelle' : How were you inspired to write this story?"
That’s actually a quite funny story. In my last year of school, my class got a new art history teacher. Surprisingly enough, she took interest in whether there were artists in our class or not, and a few of my classmates told her I could draw. I certainly wouldn’t have called myself an artist as I had no clue of what I was doing most of the time and I’d never studied art, but she still asked me to bring her some of my drawings, so I did. I showed her a few charcoal portraits I’d made in the past, and she really liked them. It was in that moment that she insisted I drew one of my classmates. I was a bit unsure at first as I’d never drawn anyone I went to school with before, but she insisted I did, and urged him to send me a picture.
It took me days to finish that drawing. I remember that when I did I asked said classmate if he wanted to see it, but he said he didn’t, because “it was embarrassing.” I can’t deny I got a little bit offended by that comment as I’d spent many days on it, but I did understand his point, too.
When I showed it to my teacher, she said it wasn’t bad, but then started criticising some details, saying that they didn’t look right. She called my classmate to the front of the class so that she could explain her point, but as soon as he realised what was going on he showed her the picture he’d sent me. At that point she said that the drawing was fine, because it did look really similar to the picture.
After some days, while I was talking about the whole situation with my best friend, I realised that it would’ve made a quite interesting idea for a story. I published the prologue of Artwork less than a week after.
16)" Who's your favourite character in the book and why? "
My favourite character is Harry, for sure. I can’t exactly explain why. I remember that it was such a difficult character to work with at first since he was stuck in his ways and it was hard to make the story progress because of that, so that’s probably why I like him so much now. I think I was able to write him in a way that made sense, that wasn’t too fast or slow paced, and I’m really proud of that. I’d never written a character like him before.
17)" Have you decided the end of the book? ( I mean the sequel's end)"
I have.
18)"If you were asked to publish your book , would you do it?"
Of course.
19)"Which is your favourite a) funny, b) dramatic, c) romantic, d) sad scene in the book, until now?"
There aren’t many scenes I’d classify as funny in Artwork, so I’ll go with the one where Sierra overthinks Ella telling her they need to talk. I’ll be honest, I don’t really know where the whole underwear thing came from, I suppose that’s what happens when you write really late at night!
If I had to pick a dramatic moment, it would surely be the one when Harry reads the texts Sierra was sent by the anonymous number for the first time. It was one of the hardest scenes to write in the entire book, and I know I’ll never forget it.
My favourite romantic moment in Artwork is kind of an odd one. It’s the moment, that takes place at the start of their date that isn’t a date, when Harry and Sierra hold hands for the first time. This is the moment in which Harry starts to give more of himself to her, and it’s one of the first unexpected and caring actions he does. He’s never held hands with anyone before and it’s made obvious by how unsure he seems, by how he seems too scared to even touch her hand at first. It’s a dainty and fragile scene, probably one of my favourite moments in the whole book.
The sad one is the moments leading up to their breakup, but from Harry’s point of view.
20) " A phrase or a scene that you write and you'll never forget.(and why)"
There’s one specific sentence that comes to my mind right away.
“He gets off the bed, has a shower, puts on his jeans from the night before, steals a shirt from Zayn, and the show starts again.”
I think it’s a pretty good representation of not only Harry’s character in Artwork, but of everyone in general. We all behave differently when we’re surrounded by people opposed to when we are alone. It is, up to a certain level, as if we too were playing a role in our life.
21) " How much time did it take to plan the whole plot? Are we near the end?"
I wouldn’t be able to give a time. It usually takes a couple of days, but then I start changing some parts, and I change some more while writing, then I discover the original plot doesn’t work with what I’ve written because I changed it and then I plan the whole story again... and then we’re back to square one. It’s always a process that lasts as long as the story is being written.
22)" How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?"
I don’t write stories days or months before publishing them, so what I have at the moment is what you see.
23) " Harry and Sierra have really changed. What do you think is the biggest change in each other from how the behaved five years ago?"
Sierra learnt to be braver and do whatever she wants to do - it will become more evident later on. Harry learnt how to deal with his issues in a better way, that doesn’t involve putting himself in harm’s way.
24) " Harry is even more quite/mysterious than the first book. When are we gonna learn all the things that happened to him while they were apart?"
Sometime throughout the story.
25) " Are they gonna be huge come back of characters in the second book? Zayn, Niall, Ella, Aiden? Are they gonna mess things up or should we leave the messing things up to dear Nicholas, haha?"
There will be comebacks and they might end up doing some trouble, but that’s all I can say right now. I don’t think Nicholas will need help when it comes to messing things up anyway!
26) "Any spoilers for future plans?"
I do have some story ideas I’d like to explore in the future. I always try my very best to continuously improve and write something better each time, so I can only hope I’ll manage to do it!
27) " Choose- 'challenge' two writers that you want to know about to do this interview like you."
As I said before I don’t read much on wattpad anymore, so I’m afraid all the ones I’ve read stories from in the past year or so have already been interviewed.
CRITICAL QUESTIONS
1) " What ridiculous and untrue, yet slightly plausible, theories can you come up with for the cause of common ailments like headaches or cavities?"
Just... life, I guess. I don’t really know.
2) "What two totally normal things become really weird if you do them back to back?"
I suppose putting on a pyjamas and then going shopping would be quite weird.
Thank you so much _miiki !!❤❤
All the love,
M.
