@golddustharry
1) "Name?"
A Harry Styles song!
2) "Age?"
18, nearly 19.
3)" What are your hobbies?"
Discovering new Fleetwood Mac songs, designing and writing.
4) "When did you start writing and why?"
I have been a reader on Wattpad since practically the beginning and it was always something I wanted to do, but it wasn't' until last year that I actually decided to give it a go.
5) "Which was your first story generally?"
My first story was an Instagram one. I started it because it was a way I could practice using photoshop and create a story through images. I really enjoyed writing that book, but I found myself wanting to write a non Instagram book because I felt I had so much more to say behind the photos.
6) "Do you write in some other website except Wattpad?"
Nope!
7) "What has given you motive to keep on writing?"
When I first started writing Notting Hill, it was one user who voted and commented on my first couple of chapters and that really encouraged me to keep going. I'm also motivated by wanting to educate and inform my readers of different parts of history. I love history and most of my ideas for stories are historically based. For example, In my story Monaco, I'm motivated by wanting to share the experience of Irish imigrants and also the conflict between the British and Irish republican army.
8 )"Have you ever wanted to give up everything? (writing I mean)"
Yes and no, there are times where I'll publish a chapter and it won't get the reaction or reception I had expected and it is then when I second guess myself and think 'are people actually interested anymore?' But I usually get over that quickly because even if no one else likes my stories, at least I like them myself.
9) "Which is your favorite story on Wattpad?"
This is so hard! It changes almost everyday, but the stories that I always find myself coming back to are 'Suit and Tie' and 'The executive and the artist' that book inspired my writing style so much and makes me feel so many things each time I read it. As far as famous Harry stories, it will have to be 'Pyrite' Each time I read that book I discover something new and it's just beautiful!
10) "Have you gained any friendship from Wattpad? If yes, which are your Wattpad friends?"
Yes I have! I love creating that kind of relationship with my readers because when you understand the person more, you can understand their writing even better.
My friends are: @missunderhood @https-peachy @theprettymar @_saltystyles_ LipsThatLied I love these girls and i love hearing what they think of each chapter xx
11) "Do you relate with any of your characters from your books? If yes, which one and which characteristics are similar?"
I think I relate to a few things from all my characters. I like to think I've got Ivy's resilience, Grace's intelligence and Daisy's anxiety!
12) "What did you study /are you studying/do you want to study?"
I'm currently at university studying Graphic design and design theory!
13)" Describe yourself in 3 words."
Confident, knowledgeable, kind.
14) "What do you advise new writers?"
Write the story you have always wanted someone else to write. Become that writer that you have looked up to for so long. Have a go and what is the worst that could happen?
15)" Questions based on ' Notting Hill' : How were you inspired to write this story?"
I remember this so vividly. There was a heat wave in my city and I was sitting on the couch watching TV with my mum when Notting Hill came on. We both gushed over Hugh Grant obviously, but because of the heat I was in a bit of a mood so I started not picking the movie and how some parts were quite unrealistic. I started thinking to myself, well why don't I have a go and try to modernise and make it more realistic. I also started the book during the break between finishing year 12 (senior year for Americans) and starting university. Writing NH kept my brain working and writing essay-length chapters.
16)" Who's your favourite character in the book and why? "
I've got to stick with my Ivy. I think she's overcome so much and had her heart hurt so many times, yet is still so willing to love and embrace happiness.
17)" Have you decided the end of the book? "
I think so. I'm torn between two endings and I don't know which to choose! The end of the Notting Hill movie is pretty iconic but I don't just want to copy that because then it's not a remake, its just a copy of the film. I want to stay true to why I started writing this book initially.
18)"If you were asked to publish your book , would you do it?"
They probably wouldn't let me if I did! I would probs have some issues with copyright!
19)"Which is your favourite a) funny, b) dramatic, c) romantic, d) sad scene in the book, until now?"
A) funny: I love the scene when Harry and Ivy are on the roof and Harry shows off his model walk
B) Dramatic; definitely the scene where Harry has a bit of a breakdown because his secret about Elliot is revealed to Ivy. It's a huge part of Harry's character development. He was genuinely scared that Ivy was going to leave him because his deepest secret was revealed. I had a few tears while writing it not gonna lie.
C) romantic: Their first time having sex defo! They had been so bare to each other emotionally but it was the first time being bare physically. I wanted it to be like those sex scenes in movies where everything seems to happen in slow motion to beautiful music in the background. It was my first time writing a sex scene so I was a bit nervous that I wouldn't get it right!
D) Well the saddest scene is yet to come actually! I'm not gonna give away any secrets but tissues will be needed in a few chapters time.
20) " A phrase or a scene that you write and you'll never forget.(and why)"
I have a few, I will always love chapter 1 where Ivy and Harry first meet, and also the first time they have sex.
1. (and their words were loud but the love in their hearts was louder)
2. ' It was a symphony of leather and lace, A connection of love and worship. And the feeling of their hearts beating as one was fucking amazing'
21) " How much time did it take to plan the whole plot? Are we near the end?"
I don't plan as much as I should probably! I prefer to let the writing form the plots and then I go from there. The current position of the book depends on which ending I choose to write.
22)" How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?"
Omg so many! I get ideas every day for new stories and just write them down. Sometimes I get an idea and think that its great and want to publish it right now but then I have to take a moment and think about it. I don't want to start a new story when I already have three going on at the same time. But also, I want to publish it so I can reserve the idea.
23) "Any spoilers for future plans?"
Hmmmmm not telling! I don't want my readers to use the movie Notting Hill as a preface to this story. I kind of want to break away from the rom-com endings and do something unexpected.
24)" Are you planning to publish a sequel?"
I don't think so, I don't want to publish one just for the sake of doing so. It wouldn't be genuine to me and I think it would come out in my writing.
25) " Choose- 'challenge' two writers that you want to know about to do this interview like you."
This was hard too since you've interviewed so many of my favourite writers! I'd love to hear from @reviewsbylou and @kanyesdiary
CRITICAL QUESTIONS
1) "What's the best inside joke you've been a part of?"
One where I said one word to my best friend while she was drinking water which made her spit it out during class. It was brilliant and I was laughing about it for days!
2) "In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet?"
A hub of ideas, there for you to interpret them however you want.
Thank you so much golddustharry!! ❤❤
