After Ryu and the other hostages got away and managed to secure themselves a room where they could hide. Ryu saw the reserve team, Natala, Kurome, and Gin took out pills from a place that Ryu would have never thought they would hide it. Ryu forced himself to look away for his own sake... since it was disgusting. Ryu wonder what Akame would think if she knew that her sister had been taking drugs and where she hid them.

Ryu looked at them. They don't appear to be sick, on the other hand, they look as physically fit as Ryu and the other Elite Seven. They did mention something about doping up when Ryu was fighting Weneg, so Ryu theorized that it was probably an enhancing drug to increase their ability to fight.

Ryu(mind): Just what kind of training did they do?

Ryu: Are the three of you, okay?

Natala: Yeah... The medicine will kick soon...

Ryu: Though, please try to hid the medicine somewhere else. It's kinda outa place there...

Gin: It's standard procedure for us to conceal it as insurance in case we get kidnapped like we just did.

Ryu(mind): Just what kind of brainwashing drug is that?

From what Ryu could tell, the drug was very important to them. And they would use it every time they fought. Her also could tell that if they don't take the drugs, they started to feel restless as if they were dying. Ryu looked at them curiously, he saw Kurome jump back onto her feet, energy seemingly returning quickly.

Kurome: It's working!

Ryu:...What kinda of medicine is that anyway? Some physical enhancement or something?

Natala, the boy Ryu recognized from the training drill 8 years ago seems to mull over how to respond. He doesn't want to give a full answer... which made Ryu the more suspicious about the Empire's background.

Natala: Yeah. Something like that.

Gin: Now we can fight! Should we go back and take him all together?

Natala: We should wait. The enemy's probably on the move.

Ryu: He's probably already gone, searching for all of us. First and foremost, we need to find the rest of our allies. Then we could tell about the curse we just saw.

Ryu said thinking about Gai. The two of them were winning and neither him nor Gai took no damage at all. But the moment Gai slammed Weneg into the ground, in an instant, Gai took a blow to his head from nowhere.

Ryu(mind): Those markings... they appeared on both Weneg and Gai. And he was smirking at the time when Gai slammed him. Which means...

Natala: Do you have any idea about how it worked? You and your teammate were winning and then-

Ryu: Yes I know. As much as I hate it, only one person in my team that can beat him.

Ryu then looked at Kurome and called out to her.

Ryu: Hey, Kurome.

She seemed surprised that Ryu knows her name, but Ryu only smile. He can't show any weakness about Gai's death. He needs to stay strong for the team. If he crumbles, than the reserved team will also crumbles. Not until this mission is over....

Ryu: I think it's about time you reunited with your sister.

(Elsewhere)

Akame was still running inside of the Tomb all by herself after everyone had gotten split up. She met a GraveKeeper named Jamo that could turned into a squid, but that only backfired on him as Akame almost ate hime alive since Squid is one of her favorite food. Fearing for his life being eaten, he fled. Akame went and chase after him and that was when she arrived in an open space.

Akame: The Atrium...

Akame looked around, and what she saw was a GraveKeeper chained in the center to which what it looked like an alter. She saw his two arms were chained to two pillars, his neck and bodies were chained by 4 metal chains toward the ground forming a square. It was then Jame appeared from behind the GraveKeepers back still in hiding from Akame.

Jamo: Uncle Jamo made you think he'd run away, but really, he lured you here. Look! Meet my trusty teammates!

Akame: Why would you tie down one of your own like that...?

Jamo: Oh, don't get the wrong idea. Uncle's not tying him up for the fun of it. He can turn into a wicked beast... But his mind's so far gone from the transformation that he's usually a threat.

Akame(mind): !! Meaning he's the GraveKeepers' Ace in the whole.

Realizing this made Akame readied her Katana ready to fight. Jamo just smirked thinking he'd won the fight if he unleashed the beast.

Jamo: Okay, boy. The girl in front of you is an enemy. Rip her to shreds until not even her comrades can identify her.

The chained that had restrained the GraveKeeper broke in an instant. And Akame saw that they GraveKeeper started to shape shift into a divine beast like Weneg. It howled with Anger, and Akame readied her weapon ready herself to fight the beast in front of him.

Akme: Once I've defeated him, I'll have you show me the captives.

Jamo: Not gonna happen!

Jamo(mind): This guy's part of the boss's clan! He transforms into the divine beast as the boss! Those face of yours will be twisted in sheer terror before long!

And so the fight has begun, but the outcome didn't come as Jamo had predicted. Akame was dominating the fight from first to finish. The GraveKeeper's body was cut right and left. The arms, the legs, everywhere. Blood spit all over the GraveKeeper's body and landed on the floor.

Jamo was sweating bullet. He'd never seen anything like this before. He saw Akame keeping up with Nubis's movements.

Jamo(mind): Is she really human?! Not good! If she takes him down, her next attack will be against me! I'll have to make a preemptive attack with my tentacles and cause a squid boom.

Jamo was preparing to shape-shift again into his squid form to strike Akame down while she was busy with her opponent. But before he could however, a black whip had caught him, wrapping around his body shocking him.

Jamo: ?!

Green: You were gonna butt into their match just now, weren't you? That was a close one.

Jamo turned around to see who the attacker was. What he saw was a man wearing glasses and had black hair. It was Green as he showed up at the right timing to make sure that Akame was saved.

Jamo(mind): Uh-oh! Her teammate!

On Akame's side, she finishes off her opponent by slicing his head off. And it was a clean hit as Nubis's head fell off the ground and its body fell lifelessly as well.

Jamo finally noticed it as well and he was starting to get even more terrified that before.

Green: Impressive work!

Akame: Green!

Akame smile seeing that one of her comrades had arrived.

Green: Nice to see some friendly faces.

Akame: I figured I'd get him to spill the beans about where the captives are being kept.

Green: Okay, I'll help out.

Suddenly, the two assassins heard crying. They turned their heads over to Jamo to see him bawling his eyes out.

Jamo: I-I've waited so long! I've waited so long for this! For guys like you to come and set me free...! The truth is, I'm tired of this tomb! Please help me out of here!

This was all a lie, however. Jamo thought they'd believe him, but the both Akame and Green knew. Akame just punched his face into the ground

Green: Evidently, you're underestimating us.

Akame: Quit the charade and just answer what we ask you.

Jamo: Yes, Ma'am.

???: Jamo, you're pathetic. Is that any way for the leader of the Gravekeepers to behave?

The two were alarmed by the voiced. They turned their head and saw it was the same creature that Akame had just fought. But the differences was that this one was in his right mind. Unlike the berserk one Akame had just killed.

Weneg: It appears I must have passed by my bride and her friends somewhere along the way.

Weneg then saw the corpse down on the ground.

Weneg: He was a crazed relative who couldn't control his own powers, but now that you've killed him... it seems I will have to take up his fight.

Jamo: B-Boss!

Using his powers his as a squid, Jamo quickly escapes.

Green: H-He made himself slick to get away!?

Akame: He just called this guy 'boss'. And there's a certain air around him. Green, he's going to be strong.

Green: So first that granny, and now this old man...

Weneg: Jamo, make yourself useful.

Jamo: Of course!

Akame: If he's our enemies' leader, then taking him out should put an end to all of this.

Green: It's two versus two. Let's go, Akame!

And so the battle begun. Both Akame and Green prepared their Shingus. Akame with her Kirrichi Monji, and Green with his SideWinder.

Green: Sidewinder! Take that!

The spectacled teen of the Elite Seven thwips and thrashes his whip around, attacking Jamo. The Gravekeeper kept a smug grin on his face as squid tentacles emerge from his sides. Jamo also thwips and thrashes his tentacles around, his attacks matching Green's as the two's attacks kept blocking each other.

Jamo: When Uncle Jamo is fired up, this is what you get! I'll get nearer and nearer to you...and make you food for my tentacles!

Green(Mind): Not good. I've got to hurry up and give Akame some back up.

Akame was fighting Weneg and he was dashing all around. He leapt off a wall, barreling towards her.

Weneg: I'll rip you apart!

The leader of the Gravekeeper's launches his arm, using it to chop Akame. With his strength, it shouldn't be too difficult. The red-eyed girl responds by slashing her blade upwards, but it was blocked by Weneg's forearm. The two were now locked in a clash. Akame was immediately pushed back as she was trying her hardest not to get hit.

Akame(mind): He's built like that last guy, but his speed is on par with Ryu...!

Weneg: You're strong. I'm almost tempted to make you my wife, but I already have someone I'm committed to!

Akame(mind): Why's he talking like that?

Akame was confused. What did Weneg mean when he had someone to commit to? That made her got distracted, and Weneg had dashed forward at high speeds, raising his hand and slamming it down. Akame just managed to narrowly dodged it, Weneg's nails just grazing her cheeks as blood dripped from it. Green took his eyes of Jamo and looked to Akame, seeing what happened.

Green: Akame!

He thwips his whip to attack Weneg, but he had forgotten about Jamo, who was very close to him, the Gravekeeper taking his opening.

Jamo: Fool! What're you doing, ignoring your opponent like that?!

Green: You fell for it.

Green grin seeing that his plan had worked. Jamo was confused and looked back to Green's whip, his eyes widening in shock. Green's whip didn't go straight for Jamo, instead turning itself around and wrapping around Jamo's body.

Jamo: Wha...?! Your whip came from the side?!

Green: He was never my target. My goal was...! To catch me a squid!

Green's whip Shingu, Sidewinder, is able to lash into any direction it's user desires. However, using this whip required great skill to use. Luckily, Green was very skilled and probably the best out of the children of the Elite Seven to use whips. Yanking his whip, Jamo flies past the glasses wearing teen, Green slamming Jamo into wall, the impact of Jamo creating a crater into it.

The squid Gravekeeper let out a grunt of pain as he was slammed against the wall, his back now against it. Because of this, he was vulnerable. Green smirks as he begins to thrash his whip, attacking Jamo repeatedly as the squid Gravekeeper begins screaming in pain.

Jamo(mind): Uh-oh. He's gonna destroy me! That does it. I can only use it for a second, but it's my last shot...!

Jamo: Shining Uncle!

In a second, Jamo's body flashed a bright light, causing Green to cover his eyes. Soon, it dies down.

Green: So, you're a firefly squid!? Huh?! He...he got away.

Weneg: Curse you, Jamo, you chicken shit...!

Akame: Now, it's two against one.

Weneg: Is it, now?!

Weneg said sending a flamethrower from his mouth at Akame. She dodged the flames to the side. Green thwips his whip towards the leader wounding his right shoulder, but steam started to come out from its body and heal him.

Weneg: That won't work on me.

Green: He can regenerate...

Gravekeeper: Boss! Are you alright?!

Weneg: This place is our home base. The Gravekeepers will come streaming in here eventually.

Green: Kuh...!

Weneg: I don't need assistance at the moment. Just guard the passageway to prevent any interruptions. I'll manage fine on my own.

Green:...Akame, what have you been able to figure out about this guy's abilities?

Akame: I think he still has some attacks up his sleeve. Do be honest, I don't have a solid reading on him.

Green: I see. Then figure it out quick. We don't have long.

Akame: Green?

Weneg: Here I come!

With a menacing grin, Weneg charges at Akame and Green. Green then wraps Sidewinder around his arm, the spectacled boy taking the blow of Weneg's punch. The leader of the Gravekeeper goes for another punch with his other arm, but Green reacted quickly. With the brief amount of eye contact, Green uses another part of Sidewinder to wrap around his arm, blocking the other punch.

Akame: Wait, Green...!

Green: This is all I've got!

Weneg: I commend you, four-eyes!

Green(mind): I hate to do this, but my whip can't do anything to him...we need Akame to slice him. I will serve as her shield until she gets a read on him. It's the least I can do...!

Finally, Weneg got through, kicking Green in his stomach sending him flying.

Weneg: This is the end of the road, four-eyes!

Akame: Green!

The leader of the Gravekeepers then unleashes an onslaught of attacks, repeatedly punching them. But the two assassins didn't waver, steadily keeping their guard up.

Weneg causes Sidewinder to curve around his body, the whip aimed towards it's master. But Akame got in front of it, deflecting it upwards, but it was still able to scratch her shoulder. She skids along the ground and tries to get up, Weneg walking closer to her.

Weneg: You're a foolish little girl. Your job was to observe me.

He grabs Akame's neck, lifting her into the air as she struggle for air.

Weneg: Before you die, I'll tell you one thing. Your actions wasted that boy's determination.

Green: L-Let go of Akame.

Weneg: It's because you're so young.

He kicks Green away and chokes Akame even further. She could feel herself losing consciousness...

Akame(mind): Am I... going to die here...? No, but I... promised...

???: Get your hands off her.

Weneg and Akame: ?!

Suddenly, a voice could be heard, which shook the entire room. A voice so menacing that made Weneg shivered down his spines. But both him and Akame had recognized the voice. He looked back behind him and saw the amethyst eyes boy had appeared without alerting a single sound.

Weneg was sent flying into the wall, Ryu had kicked him in the chest, breaking nearly every bone in his body and damaging his internal organs. Holding Akame who was struggling to breath.

Ryu: Akame...! Get a grip on yourself...!

Akame: Ryu...?

Ryu: How are you gonna keep your promise to me if you're dead? And besides....

Ryu pointed towards one of the above floors where Akame saw her little sister Kurome. Seeing her little sister alright, Akame eyes widened and felt like her energy just got charged.

Akame: Kurome!

Ryu: Be careful, he's able to channel the damage he takes into his opponent if you're going to land a fatal blow! It's... what got Gai killed.

Hearing that made Akame's eyes widened. But Ryu smile at her, Akame saw that Ryu was able to save her because Gai and Ryu had fought with Weneg and with the cause of Gai's death that Ryu managed to figure out his ability. Seeing this Akame cannot show weaknesses just yet.

Ryu: I know you're the only one who can take him out because he can regenerate. But I know it's not accumulated damage he channels either, it's only the one attack when you strike him when markings appear.

Weneg clicked his tongue in annoyance since Ryu had figure out his ability. Cursing himself that he should've killed Ryu awhile back. He got up from the rubble that Ryu had kicked him towards. But the pain in his body had not left. Looks like the kick that Ryu had inflicted on him proof fatal to him as his regeneration wasn't healing fast enough.

Akame: If I hadn't known that, I'd be a goner... Thanks, Ryu...

Weneg: Just because you know doesn't mean you brats can handle me.

Akame:...I know I am the only one who can put you in the ground.

Weneg: You're bluffing.

Akame: At this moment, I am positive of my strength.

Ryu smile at her as he stepped back. His faith in Akame was absolute. With Ryu by his side. And her little sister whom she love more than anyone in the world is right here.

Akame(mind): I'm practically invincible.

Akame: Come, I'll prove that I have a way to defeat you.
