Chapter 37: Miracle
MONDAY
Sakura's POV
"Sakura, for the last time, put on your graduation cap!" Mom screamed, "We're running late!"
I groaned in frustration, and ran towards my Mother in my long gown. The gown was white, and had a gold colored sash hanging around the shoulders, and the white graduation cap had a gold tassel hanging from the side of the cap. Due to my extremely small height, the gown was a bit too long. Mom ordered a size too big.
Once I was near my Mom, I stepped on the bottom of the gown, resulting me to trip over myself and fall on the floor.
"Sakura!" Mom gasped.
She ran to me, and tried helping me up, "Is the gown okay? Please tell me no dirt showed up!"
"I'm fine. Thanks for asking." I replied sarcastically, getting up from the floor.
"Well hurry up! It's going to start in fifteen minutes!"
I grabbed the cap from her hands, and cautiously ran out the door.

"And I am glad to have been apart of this student body. I've had many great memories with not just my friends, but with all of you. So thank you for the best four years I've ever had. I hope you all achieve your goals in the future. Thank you." Neji Hyuga said, walking off the stage as everyone clapped, and fangirls squealed. Since Neji had the third highest GPA, he was able to give a speech. Shikamaru Nara had the second best, but didn't want to speak. Sasuke had the first, but didn't want to speak as well.
The thought of him makes me want to burst into tears. A couple nights ago when I saw him in the rain, outside Haruno Web Industries, I wanted to run to him, and beg him to take me back. I hate that I love him. I hate that I miss him. I hate that he played with my feelings.
Pushing the depressing thought aside, I smiled sadly as Neji walked down the small steps off the stage. We were outside, where a small stage was built. Lady Tsunade, Kurenai-Sensei, and Kakashi-Sensei were handing out the diplomas and awards, along with Neji, Shikamaru, and Sasuke helping. There was a small cherry blossom tree to the side, that had small petals falling off the tree, and dancing through the wind. It was quite a beautiful graduation ceremony.
Lady Tsunade walked up to the small stand that had a microphone, "Now, Sasuke Uchiha will hand the award for the top three students that had a rocky start, but held it together, and achieved an exceptional grade."
There were medals? Medals just for that? Man, this school has a great budget. Sasuke grabbed one medal, and frowned. He really looks like he doesn't want to be here. I sighed.
"Naruto Uzumaki." Lady Tsunade called first.
"Hell yes! Dattebayo!" Naruto yelled, and ran up to the stage.
Sasuke smirked, and put the medal over Naruto's head, making the medal dangle from his neck. I smiled brightly at how happy Naruto is.
"Ino Yamanaka."
I heard her squeal. I'm surprised she forgot about me so quickly. She was probably faking being my friend anyway.
"Last award goes to. . . Sakura Haruno."
My eyes widened in shock. Only a few people clapped, but not many. As I walked up on the stage slowly, girls were glaring at me. Kurenai-Sensei smiled at me, and winked. My face brightened, and I smiled back. Then I looked ahead. Sasuke was staring so intenetly at me. His eyes bore into me, like he knew my every thought. My footsteps slowed, but I stopped in front of him, so he could place the medal around my neck. Once he did so, his hand slightly touched me cheek, which sent a shock of mixed emotions through me.
"Thank you. . ." I uttered, looking down and walking down the stage. I looked into the crowd as I was walking down, and saw my Mother. . . And Deidara. She didn't look pleased to have him by her side. Why was he here?
The diplomas were handed out to each student one by one, making this occasion extremely long. Once the ceremony was over, everyone through their caps into the air, but I didn't. My body was still sitting in the chair, while everyone cheered, and laughed. Now that Deidara is here, I'm more worried about Kiba. I told him yesterday about everything. To say the least, he was pissed. Kiba told me he was going to kick Deidara's ass, but I stopped him just in time. After I told him why, he said the day will come, then walked away from me.
Students started leaving to go to their families, so I followed suit. Looking for my Mom, a gust of wind hit the side of my face, making my hair sway to the side. Then, I caught sight of Sasuke. He was staring at me. The same way he stared at me two nights ago, and today. We locked eyes, and I felt we were examining each other's eyes for the longest time, until Mom came into view. I smiled, and she hugged me extremely tight.
"Your Father would have been proud." She uttered softly.
I hugged her back, but a hand was placed on my shoulder, gripping it tightly. I let go of Mom, and looked behind me. A slight gasp escaped my lips when I saw Deidara smirking at me.
"I have a graduation present for you." He said.
"W-What?" I said quietly.
"A wedding dress fitting." His smirk grew.
"Deidara," Mom started, "I want to spend this occasion with my daughter-"
He placed his hand up, silencing her, "Come, Sakura."
I looked at Mom pleadingly, but his grip on my shoulder got tighter, making me wince.
"I'll be home soon." I smiled and walked away from Mom, and left with Deidara.

I looked at the mirror sadly, and scanned my body. Deidara came up behind me, and put his hands on my shoulders. I kept my head down.
"You look lovely." He complimented.
My head remained down, "Isn't it courtesy to wait to see the bride in her dress until the wedding?"
"I just couldn't wait any longer." Deidara smirked.
"I don't like this dress."
The dress was of course, white and strapless. It reached all the way below my shoes, and had ruffles. (Look at the picture.)
"No, it's perfect. I like it."
"Well I don't." I'm slowly getting angry.
"What matters is I like it. I'm buying it after all." His tone became sharp, "We'll have this one!" He yelled to the cashier.

The car parked in front of my house, and I was eager to leave Deidara. Once I opened the door, I prepared to get out quickly. Deidara's hand gripped my wrist tightly, and he pulled me towards him. I began breathing heavily, as he smirked at me in an arrogant and cocky manner.
"Pack your things, my dear. You're moving in with me in a week."
I nodded sadly, and he let me go.

After Mom and I went out to eat, I was in my room. Tears were escaping my eyes quickly, as I was getting boxes out from the closet. I spotted a huge box on the top of my closet, and I got on my tip-toes to reach for it. My fingers reached the inside of the box, but it fell quickly out of the top of the closet. My eyes closed shut in annoyance, then I looked down. The box was on it's side, but I noticed something else. There was a small shoe box peeking out from the box.
I sat down, and opened the box. There was a peice of notebook paper and an envelope. I grabbed the peice of paper, and gasped. It was a letter.
My Dear Blossom,
I am about to do the most horrid thing a parent could do. I am about to abandon you and your Mother. If you're reading this note, then I'm already gone. You are quite an observant girl, so I know you'll find this sooner or later.
I just want you to know that the pain I'm about to put you through is not something I want to do. There's too much in my life that I can't get away from. Even if I try to run, these things will come back and haunt me again. Know that I love you so much. This past year, I have been the most unloving Father to you. I rarely talk to you, and it's taking this letter to you, to make pour my feelings out to you. I'm a terrible Father, I know. Just know, Sakura, how much you mean to me. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You have always been my light when I'm in the dark.
Now, the business part.
Haruno Web Industries shall go to no one, but a Haruno. I'm not writing this to your Mother, because you know how she can get with stuff like this. There is a copy of my will for the company in that envelope. Give this to company management, and you and your Mother will be the soul owners of this business. Just don't make the same mistakes I made. And NEVER let Deidara have this company.
I love you, and I'm sorry.
- Dad
I wiped my tears away, and grabbed the envelope. Opening it, I took the paper out, and scanned it.
My eyebrows furrowed.
