Chapter 35: Secret Past

Sakura's POV

I don't exactly know how long I was walking. I just ended up in the park. There was a specific place there that reminded me of my childhood. The last time I came to this place, was the day I found out Dad died.

It was the river. No one was there. Sitting on the edge of the water, was a bench. My Father and I used to always come here. He taught me how to fish and showed me how to make rocks skip across across the water. I smiled sadly at the thought. The sun was starting to go down slowly. It wasn't sunset yet, but traces of pink was apparent in the sky.

I sat down on the bench, and looked at the water. The sparkle was slowly dying down, but the reflection of the almost setting sun made up for it. I kicked a rock around with my shoe while I was sitting, and stopped for a moment. Without a second thought, I got up from the concrete bench and picked up the rock from the bench.

Walking closer to the water, I held the white rock in my right hand.

"Well Dad, my highscore is six skips." I said.

I haven't done this in a few years. It almost seemed wrong to do this, because Dad was with me last time. I went into a rock throwing position, and made a motion with my wrist. The rock only skipped two times. I sighed.

"Looks like I lost my ability to do this. Eh Dad?" I turned to my side, thinking I was with my Dad.

No one was there. This was the first time I actually felt I was with him, but to my dismay, he was never there. I closed my eyes, and turned around. I was ready to leave. This place brought back too many memories that I'll never get back.

"Hi." Someone said.

I was assuming it was a guy, but I wasn't completely sure who. My eyes opened, and I frowned, but I was surprised at the same time.

"You're Sakura, right?" He said.

"It depends. Who's asking?" I asked, trying to hide my sadness and depression.

He chuckled, "Itachi."

My eyebrows rose, but there was something about him. He resembled Sasuke completely. Who is he-

"Uchiha." He said.

My heart stopped. Sasuke's brother?! Of course! That's why his name sounds so familiar. I stared at the ground in sadness. I didn't want to think about Sasuke now. Especially now that I'm forced to get married to another man.

"Familiar now?" Itachi asked.

I wasn't ready to see anybody, especially a relative of Sasuke's.

"I don't want trouble." I answered, with the same sad expression.

"I just want to talk."

My face went blank, "I don't want to talk."

I walked past him, wanting to leave, but then stopped dead in my tracks.

"There's something you should know." He said.

I turned towards him, and he pointed to the bench. I bit my bottom lip, and did as directed. Once I was seated next to him, he stared at me for a moment before talking.

"I knew your Father. Right when I created the Uchiha Corp when my parents died, we worked on some business stuff together."

I was eager to know what this all led to.

He continued, "We actually went to the topic of what would happen to our companies if we past away, or were ill. Quite ironic, isn't it?"

"What does this have to do with anything?" My voice was filled with curiosity.

"Your Father didn't tell me anything." He sighed.

I was. . . Confused, "Why are you telling me all of this?"

Itachi rose from his seat on the bench, and looked down at me, "Just look out for yourself." Then he winked.

Without a second glance, he began walking away. I was completely confused and surprised by all of this. It was so random, and completely pointless to tell me all of this.

Or was there a reason?

Deidara's POV

I sat at my desk with my elbows rested on top, and my chin laid on the back sides of my hands. I was furious, no, more than furious. I was outraged. I wanted to beat that tattooed freak to a pulp, but that would be unprofessional.

The sun appeared to go into it's setting position. This time of day reminded me of a memory that would haunt me, but make me smirk at the same time. This was the day that made things go sky rocket for me. The day I took my first step to fortune. . .

"Dammit Deidara! You're messing everything up!" Mr. Haruno screamed at me, "I swear! You keep screwing up and making me do everything!"

"Sir, this is partly your fault. You didn't give me the information for the client's website." I responded calmly.

He sighed and sat in his office chair, "I know, I know. It's become too difficult for me." My boss put his face in his hands, "I don't know what to do with my life anymore, Deidara."

I smirked, "Quit, sir."

"As much as I would love to, I can't. I'm apart of a contract that I can't get out of. You know that."

"Why don't you just. . . End your misery." I replied slowly, yet calmly.

He chuckled, "I have a family."

"Well, it may sound sick, but you minds as well be dead now. You hate this company, and you can't get out of it. Why stay?"

"Like I said, I have family."

"This may sound hurtful, but your family never sees you. They probably wouldn't even know the difference. Besides, didn't you tell me you and your wife were having problems that wouldn't be solved? They would be if you stopped trying." My smirk grew.

"I just. . ." Kizashi stopped.

"No one will blame you." I smiled.

|~*.~*.~*END OF FLASHBACK*~.*~.*~|

Kizashi Haruno was an extremely intelligent man, but he was so blinded by depression, that it was that easy.

Who knew three months later, I would rise to fortune just from it.
