6: Tstxo oeyä
This Tsahik, dressed in red, circled Jake and I. She examined us both closely before stopping infront of us.
"What are you called?" She asked Jake. Her eyes followed and studied him as a predator would watch prey.
"Jake Sully." He replied simply. The tsahik pulled a bone needle from her headdress and struck Jake in the shoulder. She raised the needle to her lips and tasted the blood before looking up.
"Why did you come to us?" She asserted.
"I came to learn."
"We have tried to teach other Sky People." She lamented, "It is hard to fill a cup which is already full."
"Well, my cup is empty-"
I snorted at his self-depreciation. The tsahik turned her head sharply at me.
"Why is this funny?" She asked.
"S-sorry," I apologized and halted my laughter, "He is known for being stupid." I say in Na'vi to conceal my words. She appreciated that I could find humor right now knowing I could die, but she disapproved of my disconnect from reality. I could very well die here today. I had never met her before today. Let alone know her, Grace knew her, and I knew her daughter.
"As I was saying, I'm no scientist."
"What are you?" she snapped. Jake hesitated and tried to shake away his nerves.
"I uh, I was a marine. a uh, a warrior of the jarhead clan." He motioned to Tsu'tey.
"Tsamsiyu pak? pot tsun oe tspivang nìftue![A warrior? I could kill him easily!]" Tsu'tey challenged.
"Kehe!" the Olo'eyktan stopped him, "Fìpo lu 'awvea, uniltìranyu-tsamsiyu, a tsole'a ayoengìl.[This is the first warrior dreamwalker we have seen]" He assessed.
"Pori awngaru lu tìkin, a nume nì'ul.[We need to learn more about him]" He concluded.
"You, what are you called?" Tsahik asked.
"My name is Eyohi." I decided not to give her my last name. I am ashamed of my father and his family.
She looked very closely at me before striking me with her needle. I definitely need to go make sure I have antibiotics in this bag.
"Did you come to learn?"
"Yes."
"What are you?"
"I am- I was a teacher. A care taker of children."
"Do you know Grace?"
"Dr. Augustine, I worked with her."
She nodded in response.
"I do not know what do do with you, but Eywa has decided that you are important enough to keep alive. You will stay with us and learn as we do." She turned and began speaking to Neytiri.
"Ma 'ite, awngeyä fya'ori zene nga sänume sivi poru fte tsivun pivlltxe sì tivìran na ayoeng.[Daughter, you will teach him our way, to speak and walk as we do]" She then turned to Tsu'tey. "Sänume sami Sylwanin po, omum peyä nga?[She taught Sylwanin, you know her?]"
"Sran, oe amomum. Po sänume sami awnga.[Yes I knew. She taught us.]" He answered.
"Sänume sivi peyä poru ayfya'o.[teach her our ways.]" She finished. He bowed his head in respect and reluctant agreement.
"It is decided, my daughter and warrior will teach you our way. Learn well JakeSully and Eyohi." She finished.

I was thrown some clothing of the people and told to be ready for dinner. Of course, I was embarrassed. But I knew I looked good so, yolo. I went to last meal wearing a thin halter top and a fancy bikini/loin cloth.
The teylu[larvae] smelled good and the singing and atmosphere was fantastic. The crunchy shrimp-like grub had no shrimp texture, instead it was more like a muscle or clam. But it tasted a bit like pork and something else. Like teylu I suppose.
Jake stumbled down while fixing his loin cloth and he was seated next to me.
He began talking to Neytiri, learning her name and a little about the clan. I however glanced around and I couldn't find Re'kxutu. I hope he didn't pass from his injuries.
--------------------
"Come, you cannot sleep on the ground." Tsu'tey essentially rolled his eyes and helped me up. I knew he didn't like me enough to hold back his disdain, but he had the decency that many men on Earth lack.
"Thanks." I mumbled while dusting myself off.
"This way." He began walking up the spiral and I followed the best I could. I stumbled every-so-often due to the moss. It's slippery. It left stains on my feet and I didn't like it very much.
He lead me to a hammock and pushed me in it.
"Rest. You will need it for tomorrow." He walked off. I looked around for a while and saw a mother holding their child before closing the hammock. I did the same and fell asleep shortly after.
I felt as though I was being dragged back out.
--------------------
"Eyo, c'mon E, Wake up." There was a light in my face and Grace and Jake. Norm was looking at my monitor.
"That's it E, that's right."
I groaned and sat up.
"Damn, you're almost as bad as Jake."
"Yeah, what took you so long?" Jake had a grin on his face.
"Apparently I'm not allowed to sleep on the ground." I chuckled.
"Are your Avatars safe?"
"Yeah, You're going to love the news I have for you, Grace." I smiled widely. She glanced between Jake and I.
"We're at hometree." Jake finished for me. Grace's face lit up. I hadn't seen her so happy since Sylwanin learned curse words.
--------------------
"The last thing we see is Eyo dragging this Marine's ass into the brush with a hungry Thanator after them!" Grace grinned. I chuckled.
"That is awesome!" I heard James say. Over the years he had become more outgoing and we'd become something like friends.
"For reasons I cannot fathom the Omatikaya have chosen you," She looked to Jake, "God help us all."
I looked at Norm. He was visibly upset. I know there's nothing I can do. It's the clan's decision to take him in. I gave him a sympathetic look. He scoffed and got up and left.
--------------------
Jake was pulled away again. I guess Selfridge wanted to know what the people were like to a normal person. Maybe that's why they kept him. Anyway, I went off to link early.
Pulled back into the colorful world, I realized it was sunrise. Many were waking up to start their day of foraging, hunting, or weaving. Tsu'tey was already up when I found him.
"Today, you will learn from Maru. She will teach you to weave." He brought me to where they were seated and left me no time to talk. It's unspoken but he remembers me.
"You... Dreamwalker. You weave like this." She attempted in broken English.
"We can talk like this if it's more comfortable." I offered. She was surprised I knew Na'vi.
"You speak well!" She chuckled, "Like this." Maru taught me how to weave simply, and this type of weaving ca be used for clothing, baskets, blankets, and hammocks.
After this, Tsu'tey chose to teach me how to ride a Pa'li[direhorse].
"To become a Pa'liyä Maktoyu[horse rider], you must earn it's respect." He showed me the herd of Pa'li, "Today, you earn it." He called his Pa'li.
"Pänu good." He praised his Pa'li, "Tsaheylu, the bond, is sacred. It is a bond between all of Eywa's children. I don't expect you to understand." He scoffed at me.
"So I have to earn the respect of a Pa'li to learn to ride a Pa'li. Sounds simple enough." I found a Pa'li a little smaller than the rest, "Hello friend, let's go for a ride shall we?" I made tsaheylu with the creature and climbed onto their back.
"That is simple enough-"
"You hurt his feelings by saying it was simple. He was just as nervous as I was." I interrupted with sass.
"Listen!" He hissed, "It seemed simple, but learning to ride is harder. You may be able to do it in your mind, but now, speak."
