it was really sad, actually. as much as they teased the boy and even though it was no more than two hours away, they were sad to see their good friend go. of course, however, no one was more supportive than them. above everything they were extremely happy for elijah to have gotten into his dream school.

it was only two hours, which wasn't bad but considering jisung grew up with the boy only living 5 minutes away and the others gotten used to living closer to him within the last year, it was definitely something that would take a while to get used to.

everyone trudged in and out his house as they helped pack his bags and boxes into his parents truck until the very last one. in all honesty, elijah was the most upset out of everyone, he just didn't show it. he wasn't one to be super open with his emotions but he was actually very unsure of how he was going to do this without his best friends.

"you kids take your time with the goodbyes," mrs. kim smiled as she and her husband got into the car.

the eight of them turned to each other, the atmosphere thick with sorrow and eight friends who were going to be seven by the end of the day. "i can't even lie, this is really sad." elijah nodded, everyone laughing.

"guys, i almost didn't take the offer. like i thought about this for a while. i just can't imagine life somewhere else, where you're not there. doesn't that sound weird?"

"what?!" yangyang gasped, "don't rethink going to your literal dream school because of us, dummy."

"trying not to, but i am a little bit."

silence filled the air as they watched the boy look down at his feet, then all of a sudden everyone broke out into coos, whining at how adorable he is. elijah looked up with a huff and an eyeroll. "you did it, you ruined the moment."

shotaro was the first to pull him into a hug, squeezing him tighter than usual. then sungchan, then chenle, then jisung (who was already crying. again.), then jieun, then yangyang, and finally, minhee. the hug with minhee was of course a little more passionate, kissing her head tenderly before releasing.

"bout' to make college my bitch, bye guys."

laughter exploded amongst the group and he was cut off mid wave when they pulled him into a group hug, leaving him no choice but to take it. "y'all are dramatic, release me."

they didn't let go until they felt it was right, and when they did, he was officially off. he stepped into the car next to isla and everyone waved to the friend group, them waving back and watching the car all the way until it wasn't in sight anymore.

"i'm gonna miss that dork." yangyang sighed, crossing his arms, everyone nodding in agreement.

"yeah... so, burgers? i'm hungry." jieun groaned, holding her grumbling stomach.

"yes! let's go!"
