once the school day ended, jisung wanted immediately to bring jieun to meet garfield. he seemed so excited that it was impossible for her to say no, so they walked not too far from the school and into a slight alleyway where jisung first found the cat.

and there he was, lying down comfortably, minding his own business. jieun looked to jisung, a smile growing on his face as he slowly approached the cat and knelt down next to him. he hovered his hand over garfields head, the cat slightly raising its body so his hand was touching him.

jieun held back a coo as jisung lightly chuckled at the gesture. "he's a sweetheart."

when jisung noticed the girl not moving from her spot, he looked over at her and gestured with his head to follow his position. she hesitated, but found herself squatting down next to him and joining him in on gently stroking the cat. she hadn't noticed it herself, but her lips parted and a small smile grew onto her face.

jisung couldn't keep his eyes from her, watching as she became immersed with the animal. jisung and jieun hung out the most during school, and she'd always remain expressionless in the place the hated. it was only times like this where the small things made her eyes sparkle, and jisung was obsessed with how she looked in those moments.

a small laugh left her mouth as jieun pulled her hand away, looking over to jisung who seemed to already be looking at her. he hadn't realized how much he was staring until she looked at him back, the two of them looking away from each other in sync shyly.

"should we give him food? i don't know anything about cats." jieun said.

"we can go to the convenience store not too far and find something." jisung offered, jieun nodding in agreement. the two gave one last pet to the animal and began walking to the convenience store that was pretty close to where they were.

cool air hugged them as they opened the door, hearing the bell that sounded whenever someone opened the door. they immediately looked over the shelves to find something to give to the poor cat.

jieun was just following jisung mainly, not really knowing what cats eat. "jisung, should we take garfield to the vet?"

jisung looked over to the girl with wide eyes, him not once even considering. "oh my god! we should! i'm such a bad human, i didn't even think of that. poor baby could be sick, or something."

"if we're gonna look after him, it's probably the safer option."

"you're right. c'mon."

the boy quickly picked up canned cat food and a bag of chips he knew jieun liked.

"you need chips for the trip?" she asked playfully.

"they're for you, silly."
