"shotaro, i miss your brother." isla told the boy as they lied out in chairs together, watching the waves.

"isla... stop crushing on him," shotaro laughed.

"i can't help it."

"wanna talk to him? i'll call him right now." he said, pulling out his phone.

"NO. do not."

"alright hang on." not listening to her, he opened his brothers contact and pressed call, isla turning away and hiding herself in her hands.

"hey, isla said she misses you," shotaro said into the phone, laughing to himself

"i'm going to kill you," she mouthed to him.

"here!" he pushed the phone to her and after pushing it back multiple times, she eventually gave up and took it from him, placing it up to her ear.

"hi..." she said quietly, glaring at her friend who was fighting against laughing loudly at the redness appearing on her face.

"so i hear you miss me?" yuta said from the other end, isla hearing the smirk confidently through his tone.

"what? me? never..."

yuta laughed, "are you guys having fun? taro has been sending me pics every like, 5 minutes. as if i have never seen the beach before."

isla laughed out loud, covering her mouth as shotaro furrowed his eyebrows and quietly asked what was so funny. isla shook her head and waved her hand at him.

"yeah.. we're having fun. it's fun. cool and fun. i mean—what. yeah. sorry."

"yeah? that's great, see me when you come back, okay? i gotta go. tell my brother i said i'll call him later."

"mhm. i will." isla replied, yuta saying bye and hanging up the phone.

shotaro took the phone from out of her hands, "you're a literal tomato right now. and i know it's not because of the heat."

"you will never be forgiven for that."

the boy laughed again and wrapped his arms around her, squeezing tightly. "awww, don't hate meeeee."

"isla?"

another voice was heard from being them, slightly startling the two. shotaro let go and the two of them turned around to face haechan, who was standing at the door. he looked nervous, a state they weren't used to seeing him in.

"yeah?"

"can we talk?"

"oh, yeah, of course." the girl said, trying to hide the confusion in her voice. she hadn't spoken to him in days since the incident, she hardly even saw him because he was hiding from everyone.

haechan turned to walk back inside, isla following behind. it was only noon so pretty much everyone had been outside doing something, as they'd been doing the entire trip. the two of them stopped completely once they were fully inside.

"okay so, i'm sorry. like really sorry. i flipped out for no reason, and i realize now how unfair i was being. it was not your place to tell me and you're definitely not a bad friend." he blurted.

isla raised a single eyebrow, "it's okay. i forgive you. have you apologized to yangyang yet?"

"...no."

"no? dude."

"dude, i'm scared. i don't think he'll forgive me." haechan admitted.

"okay, what you did was really fucked up, but he's one of your best friends and you're his. i told him too that you wouldn't let your friendship be ruined over this." isla said.

"no, i know and i definitely won't. i feel dumb."

"yeah thanks. i seriously do not know where to even begin when i apologize. like i'm sweating just thinking about."

"its easy. just say you're sorry and you were really stupid for what you did, that you really don't wanna lose your best friend." the girl said in a 'duh' tone.

haechan huffed loudly, "i suck at this. everyone hates me right now. all of my friends and my boyfriend."

isla placed her hand on his shoulder. "maybe, next time, don't be a dumbass!"

the boy glared at her and suddenly got the urge to cry. he had been emotionless the past few days after what happened and then it instantaneously hit him all at once what he did. isla quickly saw the tears welling up in his eyes.

"wait, i was joking, don't cry." she reassured. "well i was half joking but please don't cry."

"i shouldn't be crying. i'm not the one who got embarrassed in front of an entire group of people." he breathed. isla almost never saw him this way, he wasn't one to cry. this made her think he really did feel bad about it.

"wow, turns out you really do have a heart," isla joked, earning a dry chuckle from him.

iseul and zara came out from one of the bedrooms and headed downstairs, spotting the pair talking in the main room of the house.

"what are we talking about?" iseul asked, skipping up to them.

"nothing," isla said, "what are you guys doing?"

"beach, wanna come?" zara replied.

"fuck yeah, see you later donghyuck." isla said to the boy who just nodded at her in response, going off to do what he'd been meaning to do all day.

the three girls left the house again, walking down to the beach together, meeting the others who were already there. jaemin and jeno spotted them, who stopped playing beach volleyball to head up to trio.

"hey ladies," jaemin greeted, his eyes immediately landing on the blonde. he wasn't so subtle checking her out in her bathing suit.

"hi jaemin." iseul replied back, tucking strands of hair behind her ear shyly.

"oh... my... you two...?" zara asked, pointing her finger between the two, noticing the sly exchanged.

"us? me? her? you're out of your mind," jaemin joked, getting a slap on the arm from iseul who began chasing him down.

"welp... that's another couple in the making. and i'll leave you guys to it because i see my man." zara smiled widely at them before she walked away.

"hey cutie," jeno started, "nice face."

"nice face, jeno? what the fuck?"

"i didn't wanna be weird and say 'nice suit' or something like that. plus, you're just really pretty." he grinned.

"if you wanna say nice suit, go for it." isla smirked.

jeno's eyes didn't move from her face, his face just becoming bright red. "i can't."
