as isla was about to put her phone aside, she almost immediately got a facetime call from an unknown number. assuming it was jeno, she answered.

"hey," he nodded, a goofy smirk on his face. isla forced a smile on her face sarcastically.

"oh god, hi," she replied. he laughed at her reaction. as much as she wasn't a huge fan of his terrible flirting skills, she had to admit he was really attractive. he has perfect hair, perfect teeth, pretty brown eyes and based off of his instagram, a killer body. hard to pass up a guy like that.

"okay, show me what you're working on," isla insisted. jeno flipped the camera and began explaining what he needed help with.

at first, the conversation was a bit awkward but after about a half hour they started getting more comfortable and went from strictly tutoring to joking around here and there. isla noticed jeno was almost a completely different guy when speaking on the phone. he was quite shy and soft-spoken, which surprised her from
the confident person she met on instagram.

"why are you not like this in the groupchat?" she asked.

"hm? like what?"

"like, you're so calm and collected right now. the groupchat is just complete chaos."

"well, its so easy to be confident over text, you know? plus its cringey to be like 'i won't you so bad' in real life." he admitted, earning a snicker from isla.

"mhm," she hummed, "okay its been like two hours and i'm kind of over chemistry right now. we can talk more about it tomorrow if you're free, or another day."

"tomorrow's good for me, talk to you later cutie," jeno said to his phone, hanging up before isla got a chance to make a disgusted face at him from the nickname. she just grinned and rolled her eyes.
