"Taehyung! Are you going somewhere?" Jimin asked Taehyung when he saw the younger hurry his way outside the door. Taehyung stopped on his tracks and faced his hyung with his signature boxy smile plastered on his face.
"Chim don't you remember? Me and Jeongguk are celebrating our fourth anniversary since we met each other today!" He replied cheerfully. Jimin was quite taken aback by what the younger has said but he immediately puts up his eye-smile.
"Is that so? Wow time flies by so fast! Okay go ahead and have fun!"
Taehyung skipped his way outside his apartment and whistled a tune much to his liking. He got inside the car and drove his way to a nearby flower shop to pick up the flowers he ordered yesterday.
"Grandma! I'm here to pick up the flowers!" He shouted as he scurried his way towards the counter. He inhaled the scent of every flower that's inside the shop, trying his best not to sneeze because of the pollens.
"Is that you, Taehyunggie?" The old woman asked as she took a peek from the storage room. She then paved her way out, wiping both of her hands off the worn out apron she was wearing.
The lady has been close to Taehyung ever since he moved inside his shared apartment with Jin and Jimin. She was a kind neighbor that totally helped him in terms of adjusting a new lifestyle in Seoul.
"Yes! Did I interrupt something?" Taehyung asked worried. The lady just smiled at him warmly and ruffled his hair.
"Nope. Your timing is just perfect because I already finished yours. Here, take these. I've added some extra tulips plus you don't have to pay for it," Taehyung's smile disappeared upon hearing what the old lady said. He huffed a sigh and shook his head rather aggressively.
"No, grandma! I have to pay for these. You've worked extra for this and I don't want to burden you. Please, let me just pay for it," Taehyung insisted. It took more than five minutes or so before convincing the old lady to accept his money.
"You should probably go before I change my mind and return the money to you again," she said jokingly which made Taehyung ran out of the shop so fast. He entered the car and placed the flowers on the back seat.
He is now driving towards the restaurant he decided to reserve so that no one will bother their date. He stepped on the brake when he saw the light turn to red. As he waited for the green light, he immediately picked up his phone, hoping that the younger have texted him by now.
His smile turned into a frown when no new notifications alerted him. He opened his inbox and scrolled through the last message he has received from the younger. It was last night.
"He probably didn't forget about today, right? He might have something for me too that's why he's being so distant from me. Maybe he's got a surprise for me too! It would be disastrous because we prepared at the same time!" Taehyung began to panic as he overthink everything. He got off from his daze when he heard honking from the cars that were lined up behind him. He then immediately let go of the brake and drove again.
"This will totally be a mess tonight!" He whispered to himself repeatedly.
It's already 6 in the evening and Taehyung parked his car in front of the restaurant he has reserved. How did he do it? Well, her aunt owns the place, so why not?
"Good evening, Mr. Kim! The tables are set and so is the room," the assigned receptionist greeted him from the door. Taehyung handed her the flower and instructed her to hide it and wait for his signal before it will be revealed. The girl smiled and bowed before heading towards the kitchen.
"Wow this is really beautiful," he whispered to himself, scanning the room in so much awe. The ambiance is perfect and the staffs deserve praises for putting up everything according to Taehyung's desire.
There were heart-shaped bulbs hung along the curtains of the windows of the restaurant. The room was dimly lit just with the little candles that stood still on the floor. The table for two is set on the center, with the utensils, a vase on the middle and the red wine was already prepared, resting inside the champagne glass.
Taehyung couldn't help but escape a cheeky grin from his lips before taking out his cellphone and snapping a photo before sending it to Jimin and Jin who's been bugging him for several hours now.
"Mr. Kim, tell us if it's time to serve the foods. We will be waiting inside the kitchen," a cook happened to say to Taehyung. The other just nods and thanked them politely for their hard work. He then made his way towards the chair and settled himself on it.
He fished his handphone from his pocket and started typing a message to Jeongguk.
He waited patiently for a reply but there was none.
"Jeongguk, where are you?" He whispered, tears threatening to pour down. He decided to ask Namjoon and Yoongi about his boyfriend's whereabouts but the two won't reply either.
He waited for 2 and a half hours but the younger didn't show up. He double checked every message he sent, making sure that he got the name and address of the restaurant correct. He also looked at the date making sure that it's really their anniversary and he's not wrong about it. The staffs kept on checking up on him telling him that the foods were getting cold and he always tell them to re-heat it instead because he's sure that Jeongguk will come.
However, on the third hour, Taehyung paid the restaurant and bid goodbye not forgetting to say a soft 'sorry' to the staffs who have been looking at him pitifully.
With the bouquet of flowers cradled in his arms, he made his way inside his car and without further ado, drove towards JYN's dorm. Tears were falling all throughout the ride but he didn't even bother in wiping it.
Once he arrived at the building of JYN's dorm, he saw a familiar company car outside. He stepped out from his car and walked towards it.
The car was not fully tinted so he can still see a bit through it. Once he adjusted his eyes to the dark and saw two persons inside, the flowers which he was holding up 'til now instantly dropped on the floor.
His hand flew up his mouth as he tried covering a gasp and restraining himself from releasing his sobs.
It was Jeon Jeongguk...
and he was kissing Lalisa Manoban.
