(guys I'm updating because I'm at school so why not?)

"Wh-what?"

John totally lost about all his confidence just then.

"I know, you weren't expecting me to call," the voice on the other end, Alexander, (John still couldn't get over the fact that he was actually on the phone with him) laughed lightly.

"No, no! W-well I mean, yeah but..."

"Gosh you're so cute," Alex laughed more this time and John felt his face heat up because of the compliment and the fact that he was hearing his voice clear as day.

"Um, thanks but...why did you call." Don't take John to just be a sucker for affection. Even if he was surprised that Alex had called and his voice seemed like gold, that didn't mean John had to just forget about what happened and the arguing that came with it.

There was a pause on the line and John took that as a chance to sit down on his bed again, only that this time, he was more uncomfortable than before. His want to watch Stranger Things suddenly died down as he closed his laptop and sat crisscrossed on the big blanket.

"I missed you..."

John sucked his teeth and rolled his eyes.

"You said that last time. Bullshit."

"I'm being serious, John. I really did miss you."

"If you missed me why did it take a whole month to call? Why didn't you answer my texts? What did I fucking do to you!?"

Alexander pulled his phone away from his ear and used his hand to cover his laughter but soon stopped as Peggy shot him an evil look that scared his soul in hell. He rolled his eyes at her before putting the phone back to his ear.

"I was busy-"

"Busy doing what?" John was heated right now. He didn't want to be, but he was.

"I was trying to pick my grades up. I have another year until I get my masters degree law and I couldn't afford to lose it all because I was focusing on you." Peggy Schuyler slapped Alexander on the arm and glared at him and he shrugged. It wasn't all the way a lie, he was supposed to get his degree soon, but he took his extra time laying around at the dorm and partying.

John didn't expect Alex to be in school, let alone aim for a masters degree in law. He kind of felt bad for thinking Alexander was that low of a person. Sure his personality was low, but didn't mean his grades were.

"Oh, I thought you were a drop out."

"As if George would let me," John was once again blessed with the sound of Alexander's laughter. He wanted to ask who George was but decided it wasn't that important right now.

John decided to ask a question he often thought about when they used to talk back and forth before the argument. "What do you think of me as?"

Alex shooed Peggy, who was trying to give him advice on how to properly apologise to John, out of his room. He fell back on his bed with sigh and continued to talk to John. "I uh, I don't know. A friend?"

"A friend is fine." John was lying to himself and he knew it'd haunt him later.

"So what were you doing before I called?"

John didn't want to tell Alexander that he was actually trying to drown his depression while binging Stranger Things on Netflix, while also stuffing his face with edible and drinkable versions of diabetes. So he settled for a more easier solution.

"Watching TV."

"Whatcha watching?"

"Um....Pretty Little Liars." John should be classified as a, 'Pretty little liar'.

"Oh. I was watching porn until my friend told me- I mean, I decided to call."

"Why were you watching porn?"

"The same reason anyone else watches it," Once again, John succeeded in making Alex laugh.

"That's disgusting," John scrunched his face up like a child would upon smelling broccoli.

"You're disgusting."

They shared a childish laugh which made John feel a little more comfortable with talking with the immigrant. He shifted his position on his bed so that he was leaning against the back board but still sitting crisscrossed. "What should we talk about?"

"You choose the topic, I'm bad at deciding."

John bit his lip while thinking, "What's your favorite food?"

"All food. But if I had to choose, coconut Kisses. It's a Puerto Rican desert my mama used to cook for me. I haven't ate it in a while, though."

Coconut Kisses? John thought to himself with a light smile. Sounds cute..

"I like pizza rolls," After speaking, John slapped himself. Pizza rolls? Of all things he's eaten in his life, he chose pizza rolls? What about McDonald's fries?

"Pizza rolls? Any specific reason why it's your favorite?" This was it, John was going to explode because of Alexander's sweet laughter.

"They're delicious."

"You're adorable. I wonder if you're chubby or something."

John blushed, (at first he wasn't sure if he was blushing or dying again-) and looked down at his little tummy and squeezed it lightly. As if to remind himself that he wasn't chubby but not exactly skinny.

"Eh, I'm average for someone my size. What about you?"

"I'm hella thick."

Alex smiled when he heard John snort. He could admit that the boy's voice was calming in a way. It felt like they've known each other for a long time, it felt right to be talking to John. Alexander was scared in all honesty. He didn't like getting close to people after what had happened with-

"Hey, do you have Netflix?"

He snapped out of his thoughts and pursed his lips while thinking. "I don't. But my friend does but she's mad at me right now."

"Oh.."

And after that, it went quiet. John was biting his finger nails and trying to think of a way to start the conversation again while Alex got distracted by a fly that flew past his nose. It wasn't much of and awkward conversation, more of a weird one that consisted of pizza rolls and TV shows. But for some reason, John felt a little happy, he was even unintentionally smiling right now and it was because Alex hadn't fully forgotten about him like he assumed. And the fact that he was actually having a conversation with him proved his point. His point that people can change.

"Thank you...."

Hamilton tore his attention away from the fly who now landed on a wall and focused it back on John's voice. "For what?"

John sounded tired but also sounded relieved to Alexander. His voice was low as well, it sounded like he was whispering.

"For calling and clearing things up. Thank you."

Alex then smiled devilishly and gave a fake yawn. "I'm sorry, what?"

"I said thanks for-"

"You said the cat got stuck in the oven?!"

It took him a while but John eventually caught on to the joke. "You know what I said, Alexander."

"I can't hear youuu..." Alexander mimicked the voice that would play before the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song.

"I said thank you," John said a little louder.

"You said I love you Daddy? I love you too baby."

John scoffed but remained smiling and soon ended up laughing. "You're stupid."

"I'm not stupid, I'm daddy."

"I'm hanging up now-"

"You're not aloud to hang you unless you call me daddy!" Alex declared, making himself and John laugh.

"Bye Alexander," John was smiling as he hit the end call button on his phone. He set it down and bit his lip to hold a laugh when his phone rung again. He picked it up and said nothing letting Alex yell at him playfully.

"-say it and I promise I'll send you a puppy."

"I don't like dogs," John giggled and was about to hang up when Alex spoke again.

"I'll buy you a turtle onesie or something cute like that?"

"You can't force me, I won't call you dadd-"

"You're wearing my sweatshirt, aren't you?"

John nearly dropped his phone. How would Alex know that? How would he have been able to know John was wearing it? "Wh-what?"

"Chill, it was just a guess. But now that I know you are, there's no way you're not going to say daddy because you're wearing my sweatshirt which gives me the idea that you've been crying over me like a teenage girl while eating junk food, correct or not correct?" Alex was proud at his estimated guess.

John, however, was rather shook. Everything Alex said was correct, and it was kind of scary.

"C-correct..."

Alexander couldn't hide his smile, "You sound sleepy so I'll let you sleep, okay?"

"Okay..."

"Okay what?"

John's face grey a shade darker and he held his hands between his lap nervously as if tons of people were watching and judging him. "Okay, daddy."

"Goodnight, baby."

And just like that John was smashing his face into his pillow with embarrassment. Laf would want to know all about this.

Call ended: 15 mins

(Tag yourself, I'm John's pillow 😂)
