good news and bad news.
She chuckled as I rolled out from under the car. Gosh, she was gorgeous. My heart leapt as she walked closer. "So?"
I scratched the back of my neck. "I have good news and bad news."
One of her eyebrows raised a little.
"The good news is, it can be fixed, the bad news, is the engine has to be replaced, which will cost a bit more than you were hoping."
"How much?"
"Around thirty-five hundred dollars," her jaw dropped, "but, I'm willing to cut about five hundred off of that."
"Thank you, KJ, but I know money is tight for you. I'll see if my parents will chip in."
"You sure?"
She nodded, looking over at the bright red convertible. She looked beautiful, her red hair flowing in the wind, and her bright blue eyes shining. The summer sun made her freckles pop, which she hates, but I love it. She's always hated her freckles, no matter how much I tell her they're adorable.
I've had a crush on her since we were little kids, but no matter how hard I try to get out, I'm trapped in the friendzone. She's made it clear that I'm like a brother to her, especially when people tease us about how much we hang out together. I can never tell if she knows how I feel or not, but there's no way I'm gonna tell her. I really should just get over her, it's not like she'll ever like me back, but heck, i'd have gotten over her years ago if I could. But I can't.
Suddenly I noticed she was waving her hand in front of my face. "KayyyyJayyyy, helloooooooo? Earth to KJ."
"Sorry," I told her, blushing. "I fazed out again." "I saw that," she looked up at me with that smile and it took a lot of concentration not to just kiss her. Man, I wanted to. After what seemed like hours of silence, she cleared her throat. "So, when do I get my car back?"
