Lorita Lurdez, Lory for short, has always been the social butterfly at her high school. She's sweet, pretty, and she can't help but draw people in with her sunny smile.

After graduation and spending summer break as far away from her laptop as she can, Lory is just about to begin university. However, thanks to her own procrastination and a late night soda accident she misses the deadline to submit her classes and ends up negotiating with the dean of the university she's desperate to attend.

Now she's stuck in night classes for the rest of her year and on probation, but she can't miss more than two classes or she's out of the university for good.

Even though Lory tries to keep up her sunny disposition, classes are boring and the majority of students act like coffee-feuled zombies. That is except the incredibly handsome student sitting mg beside her, Maxim, seems to be a different kind of monster all together.

Besides looking as if he hasn't seen the sun in a hundred years, Maxim is a sweet, clever guy who offers to walk Lory home after class when they find out they live near one another. After long conversations and a small crush develops, Lory follows him one night and is surprised to find he goes to a late night church sermon in the middle of nowhere.

With a crazy choir boy who's intent on shoving a stake of wood through Maxim and winning Lory over, and her first semester finals, Lory is nearly dead.

But when being dead isn't as final as it seems, Lory is beginning to believe that Maxim really is hiding something, and it's not good.

Why I thought of it:

I was thinking about a vampire book, or the potential of vampires existing in modern times and what scenarios they'd exist in. I like the possibility, and writing the classical vampire that has to follow rules has always been interesting to me.
