He fell to his knees in front of his new master. He looked into the single grey orb with his once bright sapphire eyes, but as he fell under the effect they grew duller. His master kneeled down and put out a gloved hand on his raven hair.

     "Don't worry, little bird. When I'm done with you, you'll be begging to follow me everywhere." His master almost chuckled at the end of his sentence. As he grew weaker and weaker, the bird fell into a loose-unintentional-low bow.

     His master laughed and stood back up, his hands clasped behind his back. "That's right, Robin. Bow before your master. Bow in pride to be the apprentice of one of the greatest mentors and mercenaries."  Robin groaned in retaliation, but it came out as a weak squeak. Before his mind could register, a steel toed boot crashed onto his feeble back. This made his arms and knees lose balance, making the poor bird collide with the stone floor. He cried out in pain as the heel dug into his ribs, breaking few and bruising others.

    At last, his body and soul could take no more. His mind fell into the shadows, his body became numb, and the last words he could comprehend was:

"You'll be mine forever, Robin. Don't you forget it."
