With Riley, she walked off into the fog about to run away from her new home back to her old one.

Joy falls, clutching the satchel of core memories. He lands hard, rolling down a hill of faded memories. He sits up, looks around. The satchel! All the memories are still there. Panicked, Joy runs up the hills of memories. Off in another part of the dump, Bing Bong comes to.

"Joy?" Bing Bong notices his hand beginning to fade as he gasps, "Joy!" He finds Joy desperately clawing her way up the hill, "Joy? Joy, what are you doing? Will you stop it please?" Joy ignores him; keeps trying, "Don't you get it, Joy? We're stuck down here. We're forgotten." This stops Joy.

All around, memories are fading to dust. Vapors blowing in the atmosphere, they disappear.

"We used to play tag and stuff." Joy recognizes this. She finds Sadness' Blue Core Memory: Riley crying in class, "But everything's different now since we moved." Seeing Riley cry breaks Joy's heart.

He falls to her knees as he picks up a nearby memory of young happy Riley coloring, "Do you remember how she used to stick her tongue out when she was coloring?" Another memory: Riley talking to a bug, "I remember...(Y/N) and I could listen to her stories all day." Another memory: Riley spinning, "I just wanted Riley to be happy. And now..." He holds the recent blue memory of Riley in class.

Joy hugs them all until the memories fall out of his arms. Joy cries. A long, deep, painful cry. Joy has lost everything. Around him, memories fade and disappear. A tear falls onto the faded twisty-tree memories. Joy wipes it. In wiping the tears, the memory rewinds. Its color changes from gold to blue. In the memory: Riley sits in the tree with her parents, the team approaching in the distance. Joy looks closer. What's this? She rewinds more. In the memory: Riley sits in the tree, crying, alone. Joy remembers what Sadness said about the memory.

"It was the day the Prairie Dogs lost the big playoff game. Riley missed the winning shot. She felt awful. She wanted to quit." Joy heard Sadness' voice say.

"Oh! I remember that day...I love that day!" Joy heard (Y/N)'s voice say, "Riley was so disappointed...but her family showed her all the love she deserved!!"

In the memory: Mom and Dad come to console Riley. Joy fast forwards. In the memory: The hockey team lifts Riley on their shoulders and cheers. Riley smiles.

"(Y/N). Sadness. Mom and Dad, the team... they came to help because of Sadness...(Y/N) was right..." Joy turns to Bing Bong, ready to take action, "We have to get back up there!"

"Joy, we're stuck down here. We might as well be on another planet." Bing Bong sighs.

Joy gets an idea, "Another planet." Joy then starts to randomly sing, "Who's your friend who likes to play?" Silence, Joy sings louder, "Who's your friend who likes to play?"

Bing Bong quickly understood the mission; excited, "His rocket makes you yell 'Hooray!'" Far off, Bing Bong's Rocket answers as they run towards it, "Who's the best in every way and wants to sing this song to say, who's your friend who likes to play? Bing Bong Bing Bong!" Joy and Bing Bong find the rocket!

They perch the wagon atop a hill. Joy looks resigned, "Hop in! Both inside, Bing Bong pushes off.

They speed down a slope to gain momentum, singing all the way. They reach the bottom and shoot up another hill, launching up towards the cliff top. Joy and Bing Bong enthusiastically, if not desperately, sing at the top of their lungs. Not even close. They crash back to the bottom.

"C'mon!" Joy begs.

They shoot down a taller hill for another go. They sing faster and louder. Joy reaches for the ledge but they fall with a thud. Bing Bong stands. There's no way they'll make it. He looks up at the ledge and then to his hand -- it's disappearing!

Bing Bong sighs, then gives a small smile, "Come on, Joy. One more time. I've got a feeling about this one." Bing Bong smiled kindly as Joy sighed and nodded.

Hurdling down the largest hill yet, they continue to sing Bing Bong's song, "Louder! Louder, Joy! Sing louder!" Bing Bong times it just right... and jumps out of the wagon.

Without his weight, the Joy gains momentum. He's unaware of Bing Bong's absence.

"And I...I love him so please..." (Y/N) sat on the cliff without Sadness, "...Make sure he and Bing Bong are okay."

"We're gonna make it!" The rocket makes it over the ledge as it crashes atop the cliff.

(Y/N) looked at Joy and smiled, "JOY!" She rushed to him and hugged him tight as he quickly hugged back.

"Woohoo! Bing Bong, we did it! We–" He turned around as they were alone, "Bing Bong?"

(Y/N) seemed concerned as well, "Bing Bong?"

"Bing Bong!" The two run to the cliff side.

[Nah, in all honesty, I almost started crying-]

Below, Bing Bong laughs excitedly, happy to help Riley in the only way he can, "Ya ha ha! You made it! Ha ha! Go! Go save Riley!" He paused, taking a minute as he smiled sadly, "Take her to the moon for me. Okay?" He waves as the last of him vanishes into the air.

Joy's eyes widen in awe; he's sacrificed his life for him. As he felt (Y/N)'s hand grab his, tears in her eyes as she leaned on his side, her head on his shoulder as tears fell. Joy pulls her in for a hug as he rubs her back.

"We'll try, Bing Bong. I promise." Joy gets up and soldiers on, holding (Y/N)'s hand as he did, "Now...where is Sadness?"

"She ran off once you and Bing Bong disappeared...I was..." (Y/N) paused and took off the eye patch [which I forgot about until this moment], "...I was emotionless...for a few moments...I..." She stopped, "I thought I lost you, Joy."

"...You could never lose me..." Joy stood in front of her, "...I'm...well...Joy!" He smiled.

"...I know." (Y/N) then softly kissed his cheek, "And that's why I love you." (Y/N) walks ahead of a flushed Joy who smiled happily and ran after her.

Back at the house, Mom and Dad walk in.

"We're home! Riley?" No response, "Riley!" Mom called.

Dad opens the door to Riley's room. The room is empty.

"I'll call her cell." Mom pulled out her phone.

Out on the streets, Riley walks through a sketchy part of the city.

"This is terrible." Fear cried, "Wait. Is that someone walking towards us? Let's cross the street." Riley's cell phone rings, Mom is calling.

The Emotions all freeze, unsure of what to do. Even Anger, who thought of the idea is frozen in confusion.

[Sorry- Two things. One, am I the only one few who ships Anger & Fear together? Two, I love how all the emotions act like 11 year olds in this film yet they're obviously probably older & smarter.]

"It's Mom! She's on to us! Where's my bag?" Fear finds a paper bag and breathes into it to calm himself.

"What do we do?" Disgust looked to Anger.

Anger paused and sighed, "Riley needs to get core memories. We keep going."

On the screen: Riley ignores the call and walks on.

(Y/N) and Joy run through the Long-Term Memory stacks.

"Sadness!" (Y/N) calls out.

"Oh No..." Joy stops.

"What is–"

The two of them see Family Island rumble, pieces beginning to break off. Joy holds (Y/N)'s hand as the two frantically continue on.

As at the bus depot, Riley walks into the bus depot.

(Y/N) and Joy run through a long corridor.

"Sadness? Sadness?" Joy called with no answer; desperate.

"C'mon Sadness, where are you?" (Y/N) called out with no avail.

Joy stopped, "Okay. If I were Sadness, where would I be?" Joy slumps to the ground as he kicks a leg up in the air as Joy spoke in Sadness voice, "Ohhh... everything is awful and my legs don't work and you have to drag me around while I touch all the–" Joy stops.

Something has caught his eye. Reveal: a path of blue memories on the bottom shelves. Joy and (Y/N) follow the path.

Later, Riley walks out of the bus depot and into the advancing line. Her cell phone rings again: 'Mom.'

Fear breathes faster into his paper bag.

"Oh no. It's Mom again. What do we do?!" Disgust yelled at Anger, who seemed worried.

"Uh... Uh..." Boom! Family Island rumbles behind them.

On the screen, quick cuts, between the line getting shorter, Riley declining Mom's call, and Family Island crumbling.

Fear's bag pops.

Anger groaned, "This is madness! She shouldn't run away!" He finally came to his senses.

"Let's get this idea out of her head." Disgust says as they rush to unplug the idea.

(Y/N) and Joy run, following the path of blue memories.

"Sadness!" The two round a corner and spot Sadness far down the next row, "Sadness! Sadness turns around."

"Joy? (Y/N)?" Inexplicably, Sadness turns and runs away.

"Wait, Sadness!" The two chase after her.

Sadness doesn't stop, "Just let me go! Riley's better off without me! Joy follows Sadness straight into fry forest.

Sadness topples giant french fries in (Y/N) & Joy's path, "Come back!" Joy uses a super-long fry as he wraps his arm around the flustered (Y/N) to vault over the mound of fries.

In Cloud Town, Two Mind Worker Cops are questioning a Cloud Witness, the wife of the Cloud from earlier who Bing Bong 'killed'.

"So you're saying your husband was blown away by an elephant." The Cloud Witness nods.

Sadness runs past the crime scene. They don't notice.

"Was he with anyone?" The cop asks.

"Yes! And there they are!" Joy runs right through the Cloud Witness, dissipating her.

"SORRY!" (Y/N) yelled, being dragged behind Joy.

The Cop runs after Joy and (Y/N), "Hey! Come back here!"

The other cop grabs the cop's hand, "Forget it, Jake. It's Cloud Town."

The two make it to the cliff's edge where Joy searches for Sadness. Suddenly, rain falls on her. Above, Sadness is floating on a chunk of rain cloud, away from Headquarters.

"What? Sadness!" Joy and (Y/N) quickly run after her.

"Sadness! Come back!!" (Y/N) yelled.

Sadness was crying, "I only make everything worse!"

"Wait-- Sadness! We've gotta get you back to..." Joy sighs as Sadness is too far away, "Ugh." Joy looks back at Family Island crumbling, he looks around: what does he have to work with?

"Joy..." (Y/N) pulled on Joy's arm as Joy looked to where (Y/N) was pointing as the two shared a look.

The Boyfriend Generator.

Anger tries to untwist the Idea Bulb, but it won't move.

"It's stuck!" Anger yells.

Disgust rolls her eyes, "Oh great."

"Whadayamean it's stuck?!?" Fear shakes.

"Now what?" A strange blackness spreads over the console.

"Oh, no, no, no. What is THIS?!" Fear asked.

On the screen, it shows Riley boarding the bus.

Anger slams a chair down on the console. It bounces off with no effect. Fear lunges in with a crowbar. He loses control and it smacks him in the face.

Back on the screen, Riley walks down the aisle of the bus.

"Oh, how do we stop it?" Fear asked.

Disgust smiled, "I got it! Make her feel scared! That'll make her change her mind!"

"Brilliant!" Fear smiled.

"I know it's brilliant. Do it!" Disgust flips her hair.

Fear frantically pushes buttons, "Ahh! Nothing's working! Why isn't it working??"

"Let me try!" Anger yelled as Disgust and Fear pound on the console buttons.

"Great, you broke it!" Disgust looked at Fear.

Fear seems scared, "No, I didn't!"

"Let me do it!" Anger yelled.

On the screen, once more, Riley takes a seat. As of now, the console is mostly black.

"Guys. We can't make Riley feel anything..." Fear says as they all see Riley sits on the bus.

"What have we done?" Anger asked.

At the Boyfriend Generator, (Y/N) and Joy runs up to Riley's Imaginary Boyfriend.

"Hey! Hey, look at me. Did you mean what you said before?" Joy asked.

"I would die for Riley! I would die for Riley!" The Boyfriend said over and over again

Joy sighs, "Yeah, yeah, okay, Haircut. Time to prove it." Joy scoops him into her satchel.

(Y/N) activates the generator. Imaginary Boyfriends pour out, directly into Joy's satchel. As the two exit imagination land, the two spot Sadness ahead, and run past her. Joy pulls a balloon free from a twisty palm tree. He aims it towards the approaching Sadness and unties it. PTHHPT! The balloon blows Sadness back over the memory. In the process, the house of cards behind them collapses.

"SORRY!" (Y/N) yelled again.

The worker seemed angry, "That's it! I fold!"

(Y/N) and Joy sprint as Joy grabs the SATCHEL, now full of boyfriends. Sadness floats out over the Memory Dump. Joy & (Y/N) run along the cliff edge, parallel to Sadness, towards Family Island. The two see Sadness and align herself with Family Island. Joy dumps the satchel, pouring out the Boyfriends as Joy quickly wraps his arm around a flustered (Y/N)'s waist. Their momentum pulls the two to the top of a tower of boyfriends.

Joy spoke to himself, "This is crazy, this is crazy..."

"No, no, no! Joy! Be positive." (Y/N) smiled as Joy took a beat.

Joy gave a sarcastic smile, "I am POSITIVE this is crazy!" The two spot the trampoline on Family Island, then Sadness floating away as Joy times it, "NOW!" The tower tips forward.

"For Riley!" The two fall towards Family Island, bounces on the trampoline, flying up towards Sadness. He intercepts Sadness midair with (Y/N) at his side.

"Gotcha!" (Y/N) smiled.

"(Y/N)? Joy?" Sadness seemed confused.

"Hang on!" Joy yelled.

They launch towards Headquarters. Will they make it?
