Edgy Books

I recently traveled to Barnes&Noble, the greatest store in the world, and purchased a trio of popular novels:

BIG TOE REVEAL!!!

I completed The Road first. My favorite teacher recommended the book during the school year and referenced how I would read The Road in one of my future classes. Sadly, I wasn't impressed by the novel. The novel's plot was insanely slow, which degraded the quality of the novel's deep symbolism. It was quite difficult to analyze the symbolism when I struggled to push through the numerous boring events of the novel. If someone here has read The Road, let's discuss it! I'd like to share my ideas.

One of my good friends who I discuss philosophy and religion with recommended The Stranger to me. I haven't read many of Camus' works, yet I'm impressed by his ideas. However, I left the novel at my friend's house and will likely not retrieve it for a while. At least I didn't leave the book at a stranger's house...

Ba dun tss

Finally, I purchased The Crucible for an AP English class. I have to complete it before school starts, but it only contains 140 pages. I've completed about 50 pages, if my memory is correct. The author wrote the novel like a play and there are 4 acts. The Crucible is about the Salem Witch Trials, which is a brutal yet intriguing topic.

I'm really enjoying this novel so far. The Crucible also contains commentary from the author, where he mainly discusses moral and religious topics. When I have to write about The Crucible, I'll have plenty of topics to choose from. I love morality.

I recommend The Crucible, definitely don't recommend The Road, and can't really recommend The Stranger because I've only read 10 pages. Read your books young whippersnapper. They're good for you.

Love and Peace,
Arkada
