Screams. Crunches. Splatters. The clink of metal against stone as my comrades died around me, their blades falling to the floor as they were devoured. I stood on the top of the wall, firing arrows down to blind the titans.

"Daniel. Do NOT shift. Remain calm." Levi ordered.

"Sir, I could eliminate so many of them!"

"Kid, it would kill you. Eren is down there already. He can handle this."

I kept firing arrows, before jumping off the wall and launching myself into action, slicing and killing the titans i had blinded.

There were thousands of titans around us alone, more spreading around the wall. Outnumbering us, a hundred to one.

I planted a mine on the wall, before jumping to the top of the wall and setting it off, watching it fire out lasers and destroying the napes of at least two hundred Ten meter titans in every direction.

I scanned the crowd of people and titans alike. I screamed at the sight of Samson, his leg in the mouth of a five meter Titan, his gear evidently malfunctioning.

"Samson!" I shouted, flying towards him and killing the Titan, grabbing Samson and yanking him to the other side of the wall.

"Daniel! I'm sorry..."

"Samson, please, I should have watched closer, I should have shifted, I should have taken better care..." I sobbed, mumbling as I fumbled with a bandage. I Tried to wrap his leg but sobbed quietly, wracking my body and shaking.

"Daniel! Leave him to the nurses! Get up here!" Yelled Leigh.

"Baby, go on. I'll be fine." He told me.

"I love you." I told the bleeding boy, kissing his forehead and going back up.

"I love you too. Don't you dare fucking die on me!"

"I won't!" I assured him, flying back over the wall and slicing at titans, tears streaming down my face.

"Dan you can shift now. Go on, shift!" Screamed Hanji.

I dragged my nails up my arm and threw myself off the wall, landing with a crash and eliminating titans.

I kicked them into the wall, smashing and punching and cracking bones. Cannons fired down, killing more.

"Dan! Get out of there! You'll die!" Screamed Levi, three hours later, but I refused and kept killing. I felt stronger than ever, angrily killing, using the pain of Samson nearly dying to fuel my desperate hunger for death and destruction.

I let loose entirely, listening to the screams of my fallen friends, comrades, family. The cadets I had been with for three years, dying in their first taste of a real battle.

There was a sharp pain in the back of my neck and I was being dragged out of the body, suddenly in excruciating pain.

"Daniel! I ordered you to stop!" Levi yelled, throwing me to the ground of the top of the wall.

I was in so much pain that I couldn't make any sound, I couldn't even breathe. I forced myself upright, coughing the blood out of my lungs.

"No-no Levi. I'm gonna-" I couldn't speak any more, so I stumbled to the edge of the wall and pushed myself off, begging my body to shift again.

The pain was gone and I was back in Titan form, back to killing mindlessly.

Six hours later.

I sprinted around the first part of the wall, between trost and karanes.

It was clear of titans and I saw scouts racing towards the command center.

I ran back to Levi and started signing to Hanji.

"All clear."

The sharp pain in my neck appeared again and I was yanked from the giant corpse.

Again, I was laid down on the hard rock, blood pouring from my eyes, nose, mouth. There was no skin on my hands and legs where i was fused with the Titan, steam rising as blood and tears streamed from my eyes.

I coughed angrily. Blood was everywhere. My body was on fire.

"Dan! Don't... don't go, please dan, stay with me!" Sobbed someone, I didn't quite know who. I recognized their voice but I couldn't see through the blood.

"S-Samson?"

"It's me. I'm here, baby. It's okay, the titans, they're all gone. Please, stay awake!" He cried. His shirt and trousers must have been soaked with my blood.

"How are you..."

"They fixed my leg and brought me here. I'm fine! Baby, you... you're hurt!"

"Samson, I'm dying. I'm not gonna-" I coughed again. "I'm not gonna survive this and you have to promise you'll keep strong. Build-build the outside, swim in the sea and the mountains, volcanos, with the water that glows like fire. I-I love..." and then I blacked out. Nothingness enveloped me.
