"She can't fight if she's pregnant though." Samson said, thrusting into me roughly as I moaned.

"Can-can we not talk about your sister until-ah! Right there-until we're done?" I panted.

"Sorry babe, oh Jesus I'm close, I'm gonna-" he yelled, coming deep inside me as i came all over his sheets.

Just then, someone burst in and Samson and I scrambled to hide ourselves.

"I'm sorry for the intrusion sir, but, well the commanders want you." Said the messenger and I groaned.

"Which one?" Samson demanded.

"Section Commander Hughes." He replied and I sighed, climbing out of bed and throwing my clothes on.

"I love you. I'll be back soon babe" I told Samson, kissing him deeply before following the messenger.

"Ah, Hughes. A few Titans have been spotted inside wall Maria." Erwin told me and I kicked the door frame.

"Fuck! We said we had killed them all. We sent garrison scouts to see! We were sure!" I screamed.

"Hughes, shut the fuck up. I'm sending your team to deal with them. Apparently six were sighted." Levi told me.

"But, you fucking idiots, my team only has Samson, Jaeger, Kirchstein, Springer, Brause and Arlert. We can't destroy six titans unless I shift and, in case you've forgotten, I'm under a strict ban upon shifting! The commander in chief, Darius Zackly has personally banned me from shifting. You fucking-FUCK!" I yelled again, kicking the door frame again and wincing at a rough crunch and crippling pain as my toes broke. "This is a suicide mission!" I roared.

"Boy! Calm yourself! You're the strongest permanent team we have and we need you to form a scouting report! We have ulterior motives, you fucking shit! Do as you're told and fucking get on with it! You leave tonight." Erwin yelled.

"I'm a member of the strategy committee, what the fuck do you want me to do? What is this mission ACTUALLY for? Hm?" I demanded.

"Were sending you to see if it's safe to get to erens basement." Levi explained.

"Right. I'll go and prepare my team." I said, storming off.

Samson ran towards me as I walked to the stable and he draped his arms over my shoulders.

"Babeeeeeeee what's happening?" He questioned.

"Your dad and his fucking blond wanker are sending us to take out six titans and scope to see if we can get to erens stupid shitty basement." I grumbled.

"Stop hiding your fear behind anger. You know that pisses me off."

"Babe this is a suicide mission."

"I know. But it's a direct order mfrom the commander so we are going to do it. Understood?"

That evening we were sitting on our horses, ready to go.

"I fancy our chances, actually. Commander Short-Ass has some skill in battle" laughed Sasha to jean. I flicked her off playfully, before Levi rode over.

"Camp out inside wall Maria, find the titans and destroy them at first light. More orders will come when you're done." Levi told us and we nodded, kicking the horses into action.

The next morning, I stood in a tree and watched the sun rise as I scanned the horizon for Titans. There was frost on the grass and Samson stumbled out of our tent and hugged me from behind, shivering violently.

"Private Ackerman, get some clothes on." I joked, turning around and kissing my fiancée softly.

"Dan it's fucking cold!" He whined.

"Sams, get dressed, we are leaving soon. I've spotted some prints and I got everything ready to go except for the cadets." I said and he sighed, going back into the tiny pod to get dressed.

Soon after, everyone was awake and we were racing towards the titans.

"Surround them. Do NOT engage!" I roared over the sound of the horses hooves. I used my ODM gear to jump up onto the shoulder of one of the titans.

"CHOOSE A TITAN AND KILL IT. DO NOT FAIL." I shouted, before swiping my flexible pairing blades at the weak spot of the titan I was standing on, killing it instantly.

Everyone succeeded except Eren, who slipped and missed the weak spot.

I sprinted towards him and pushed him out of the way of the massive hand that was coming to pick him up.

The titan grabbed me and pulled me up to his eye level.

"Hello, you big ugly bastard." I spoke, a fire roaring through my bones.

"Commander Hughes!" Screamed Armin and I laughed dryly, preparing to die. 

"So, this is how I die, eh? Well, there's worse ways to go." I muttered sardonically, befote being dropped to the ground as the great titan fell on me. I groaned as my legs snapped again, and steam began rising.

"Dan! Are you okay?" Samson panted, sprinting towards me.

"I'm fine, I had a plan. Why didn't you follow my orders?" I demanded.

"You were about to get eaten, you cock!" He screamed and I grabbed his shoulder to pull myself out from under the titans corpse.

"Yeah? And? It's not like I can die, not really anyway. Like, you'd have to destroy my body to the point of no repair." I said and I groaned as I tried to stand up.

I fell back down and called my horse over, getting up and climbing on painfully.

"Alright. Come on, this mission is a scouting mission. As we haven't got any new information, we are going to scout our way to Shiganshina. Come on." I said, setting off towards the fallen city.

"Babe, I'm sorry." Samson told me, riding up beside me.

"It's alright. Just, follow orders. Our professional and personal relationships are two entirely different affairs. The mission always comes first. You should know that. We are soldiers, our lives are dispensable and near worthless." I explained and Samson sobbed. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"I don't want this. I don't wanna be in battle, I don't want to watch you nearly die and not be allowed to do anything about it. I want to be on the research team where I can help you without watching you die. I'm not a good fighter, I'm not a shifter, and I'm too emotional to be any good to anyone!" He cried and I reached a hand out to him.

"If you really want, I can have you transferred to the research team." I said, pain running through my stomach as I thought of the implications of that.

"No, because then I will be away from you and I can't make sure you don't die!" He sobbed harder. "Why did they have to come back. Why can't they just have died!" He screamed.

"Baby please, calm down. The Titans are awful but I'm sending someone to inform your dad on what's happening. We are going to learn to defeat them, understand? Once and for all. Then we will go to the ocean and the ice lands and branch back out across the world. I promise you."
